Just re-watched the Arsenal game for the 3rd time totally f***ing absent did nothing other than poke a sitter in!!  2 in 6 is actually not a bad return on paper but not contributing at all.

just re-watched the Burnley game and guess what.............

great prospect but think it may take a season for him to get up to speed, Davies deserves a start.

  2. DS was 100% right to give him a chance as he's been knocking on the door decent first half but absent second half, was surprised DS didn't take him off at around the 70 min mark and bring on DL. Needs to be on the bench for me.

  3. Watching SHU v LIV, and Liverpool are obviously having loads of possession but SU look so bloody organised and look good on the counter. Really rate CW as a manager like the way they set up with 3 across the back that formation would really suit us I reckon.

Can't see anything but a Liverpool win but SU are really holding there own right now.

Not even saying it would work, just have a feeling it might, and would make us better as a team.

And while it might not be his favorite position I don't see Grealish as someone who would sulk or make a big deal about playing in a wide playmaker role.

I agree I'd like to see Jack wide left but coming inside as a second forward as often as possible I reckon he'd score plenty of goals and get a few assists.

Have you seen that interview? Really don't think he likes it and I don't think DS will play people out of position.

I think we are shopping in a different market now. Phillips has missed the boat.

He wasn't that good anyway. Just a persistent fouler. He admited it to Grealish after the leeds game. I predict he will spend the rest of his career in the lower leagues then be a fixture on the after dinner speaking circuit at the gary owen stringing out the story about how he turned down a move to Villa.

It's declan rice we should be looking at....especially after he tweeted his love for the real claret and blue. rice mcginn and grealish now thats what I call liquid silk.

I'd wank all week at the thought of watching that three on a Saturday afternoon.

I saw an article recently where Declan Rice asked Pellegrini about a loan move to Villa last season, imagine if that had of come off with an option to buy!! I'd have run out of tissues ages ago!

Pretty much, he played in front of the back four at Girona, even dropped back to centre half at times. He's not exactly a conventional DM, has aspects of a deep lying playmaker to him, but the idea that he's 'box to box' couldn't be further from the mark.

Be nice to see him play as a deep lying play maker next to a decent DM (marvelous?) in a 4-2-3-1 but I think DS has his style of play and is not about to change it

Might suit the team with Jack in a wider position and Luiz in central.

Jack is the star player, but it's all about the team.

Absolutely agree it's all about the team but I think DS is a bit start struck as far as Jack goes, did you see that recent interview with Jack? Favoured position is the No 8 box to box, will play a No 10 if asked but absolutely hates the wings!!

I don't think that will make any difference to be honest, it really is a case of if Leeds get promoted he will stay and vice versa.

If the rumours are true that we offered £20 million and they were holding out for £25 million then I wish we had stumped up the cash, that said I have been reasonably impressed with Nakamba and Luiz so not the end of the world.

My worst nightmare would be our two clubs swapping places next season and them sniffing around our better players, but far from an impossible scenario.

He's decent and I would have liked to see him at VP but probably not a £25 million player atm. And Marvelous is only going to improve.

I'd like to think should the worse happen and we go back down we have the financial backing to not have to sell to the likes of dirty Leeds should they go up.

What must really hurt Conor is the fact that he got dropped after the Spurs game. The score was 1-1 when he came off, and he hadn't really put a foot wrong.

I also understand DS's logic, though. Conor is weaker defensively than Marvelous, while Douglas is a better all-round midfielder in open play.

Having said all that, Conor seems to perform best when he has a point to prove, so I'd like to see him have a crack soon.

Do you think so? He's a great young prospect but not sure he offers as much as Conor (yet)

In the Carabao Cup highlights show, they showed a few clips that we didn't see on the extended highlights from the club. In a couple of them, Targett gets worryingly skinned by the young winger (the one that scored). I'm talking turned inside out. I'd still take it for the offensive improvement over Taylor though.

That's the worry though is he up to it against PL players? His game suits playing as a WB not a FB.

For all his inablity to get forward is Taylor a safer option right now?

When I look at our team I see a side that I would expect to be in a relegation battle and finish 16th/15th. I think Sheff Utd. will go down despite their good start and I wouldn't be suprised if Brighton went down too. There's a long, long way to go.

I look at all the promoted teams and see sides I expect to be in a relegation battle just goes with the territory.

Will most likely start against Rochdale tomorrow.

Must be great for his development to test himself against the almighty Astana and Rochdale.

    Started and captained the side.

  13. I'm torn on whether to start Targett but we should be on to attack at home to Burnley I'd like to see

                                Heaton

    Guilbert      Engels      Mings         Targett

                     Nakamba    Hourihane

           Trez                McGinn          Grealish

                                      Wesley

But have a feeling we'll see

                                    Heaton

        Guilbert      Engels      Mings         Taylor

         McGinn           Nakamba            Grealish

         Al Ghazi           Wesley               Trez

Still think it would be interesting to see a

    Heaton

    Guilbert - Engels - Mings - Targett

    Nakamba

    Luiz - McGinn

    Trezeguet          -          Grealish

    Wesley

Davies might even be pushing for a start as his hold up play and strength is useful in bringing more players into attacking positions.

    This!

Targett looked excellent on the highlights, he was whipping in crosses for fun, it’s good to have a £11m full back to come in to the side

Only seen the highlights also but we have to remind ourselves that was essentially a Brighton academy side, I really want to see Targett play for real but I think id prefer it as a LWB in a 5 which DS is never going to do unfortunately.
