    The Internet :D

He extended his contract last year and increased his buy out clause from £25m to £40m or rather Euros but same same.

Not that's I'm and expert on the subject but I've followed Real Betis for more than 25 years...

OK you seem to be the subject matter expert here, I'll await the signing announcement from Barca in the summer 😀

I gather you don't read the Spanish paper Marca?

Not that they are any different from other papers in posting rumors to get clicks.

Fwiw as far as I've seen his buy out clause is £40m and not £70m...

As I edited my post paper talk Barca don't tend to buy players that worked there way up through the leagues, surprised you think they would. Where did you get the info on a buy out clause?

Actually saw Palace linked with Oliver Giroud this morning. Guess he'll want to stay in London but that would be great pick up for us on six month loan. He's barely getting any minutes for Chelsea so would imagine he'd leave in January anyway.

In any other Villa team I'd say yes but he just doesn't fit in with the current philosophy of young hungry players................absolute class though!

  4. Hope our scouts in Spain are having a look at Loren Moron at Betis only 25 has worked his way up through the Spanish leagues and doing well in a shite team brilliant finisher, could be one for the summer depending on how his season pans out.

  5. With the system we now have in place with Suso and his scouts I'm confident even if I've never really heard of the player absolute due diligence will have gone into the recruitment everything from ability to attitude will have been looked at and it will have the stamp of approval at both DOF and head coach level.

I also think they will be looking and planning for both scenarios in staying up and the possibility of going down, I can only realistically see an attacking playing joining us in January.

However should we stay up I can see another bit of a clear out in the summer with Chester and Kodjia released and Taylor,  Almo,  Henri,  Jota and Hogan going if offers come in for them. So replacements will be needed!!

Villa were 26/1 a couple of weeks ago. Such ridiculous odds for a match, I stuck a fiver on.

Probably money down the drain but noticed we are now down to 15/1.

So the bookies are still super-confident that we are going to lose but not as confident as they were :)

Edit: I can cash out for £5.36!

    Rip there arm off 😎

I agree changes will be limited - he doesn’t change much without good reason.

We won’t necessarily press as we did against Brighton....he certainly changes our approach depending on the opposition. We played very differently against Spurs and Arsenal.

Hope it's more controlled hitting hard on the counter, as somehow I don't see us getting much joy out of a 4-1-5 against Citeh!

I’ve never seen him play but heard he’s a bit of a hothead.

I think he has calmed so far this season by all accounts, however we can't be paying 20 Mil for players from the Scottish league!

Trez and El Ghazi are both £10 million players. Nothing more, nothing less. Grealish and McGinn are £50 million players (roughly, probably). And you can see that difference in value demonstrated pretty much every minute of each game.

I hope one or both of them develop and come good, and have consistently good games. But it is what it is at the moment.

McGinn was a £2 million not long ago so I have some faith Trez will come good at some point.

He's played in poor leagues and it may take a season to step up to the PL not everyone does it quickly. He works so hard and has real pace, just unable to finish right now and needs to get fitter.

  10. I really don't see DS making any changes to the team, maybe Trez for AEG as he will track back much better, however after 60 minutes Trez is usually Knackered! Really can't see any other changes DS doesn't do more defensive!

I just feel if we press as high as we did against Brighton we will pay the price and Marvelous will end up run ragged!

  11. We seem to have this debate over and over and he's proved over and over he deserves to start!

He's our joint top goal scorer (should be our leading goal scorer), our only major threat from set pieces and has more shots on target than everyone except Wesley. I find it highly unlikely DS will change a winning team.

Newcastle have beaten United, and Tottenham as have Brighton, Palace have beaten United, Norwich have beaten Man City, and now Sheffield United beat Arsenal. We need to show that we can get similar results for the psychological advantage. Yes Man City and Liverpool will be favorites and they could well both end up thrashing us, but getting a result isn't impossible the last thing we need is to come away from the next two without any points.

No big deal pretty much expected, coming away with any points is an absolute bonus for me.

Why not? I think he has all of the attributes, he’s quick, strong, good in the air, he can bring others in to the game. He is a good finisher although a lot on here don’t think he is

I think this is what he lacks, everything else is there he just can't score!
