Defensive and negative.
That's something Mourinho would do. Don't like it
Definitely not! It's very fluid, and I think it would suit us with our current players.

He'd be making a rod for his own back
Got me hooked!

Paper talk we are looking at Eric Dier. Thoughts?

Out of contract next summer, can't see him getting a new one now. Great character.

Given past links, Jarrod Bowen could be a good shout.
Agree he'd be a good addition, I wonder if Hull would sell in Jan just to make some money on him or are prepared to let him go for free in the summer tough letting your top scorer go mid season.

Think both Messi, Pep and Zlatan ended up having decent-ish careers

Stop with the formation changing.
This is our best team:
-----------------Heaton-----------------
Guilbert--Engels--Mings----Targett
-------------------Nakamba-------------------
-------------McGinn----Luiz-------------------
El Ghazi---------Wesley--------------Grealish
Nah not for me replace Luiz with Conor. Luiz comes on after 60 minutes to freshen things up if needed.

I just don’t think he’s anywhere near Prem quality, just my opinion
No worries we all have opinions, right now I think he is the right fit for the team, that may change as DL matures, I still really think Henry has some part to play in this season. But for now I think Conor has earnt his start.

Don't know about that. Seem like a long shot to me.
He's playing in a weak league. Would be a bit of a gamble for big clubs. Think Aston Villa would be a good stepping stone for him.
I admire your optimism but not a chance in hell he will end up at B6 he is destined for bigger and better things.

As a Norwegian I would of course love to have Haaland here. As a realist though.....I would really love to have him!
He'll be snapped up by a bigger team playing CL football next summer I reckon.

I'd like us to sign Emi Buendia. Cracking player.
Would improve our depth on the wing
Norwich would never let him go mid season, he's there best player imo.

My side would be:
Heaton
Guilbert Engels Mings Targett
McGinn Nakamba Luiz
Trezeguet Wesley Grealish
Bench: Steer, Elmohamady, Konsa, Taylor, El Ghazi, Lansbury, Davis
An assist and a goal for CH and not even on the bench?

If the cup game is being played on a weekend where there is no league game following close afterwards then by all means play them. But if the cup game is midweek sandwiched between 2 weekend league games then I'd rest them. Yes they're quite capable of playing in all 3, but the percentage of fatigue for the 2nd league game only needs to drop a few points to hand the opposition an advantage. So for me it's not as simple as play in the cups. We need to pick our battles.
Absolutely, No 1 objective is to stay in this league! I would love a decent cup run but if I am totally honest they are a distraction right now for us! Keep playing the 2nd team imo.

Or we could sign their other striker who has scored 17 in 9
Going to be interesting to see where he ends up!!.................................I think dirty Leeds have missed that boat.

Just read we've taken Jordan Archer on trial? Is this for real?
Not sure about 'On trial' but he's training with the GK coaching staff and keepers whilst he searches for a club. Happens a lot when players are released good for the CV if they are seen to be training somewhere rather than sitting on there arses getting fat.

The commentator pointed out that he has a free role on corners (not marking anyone). His job is to just get his head on the ball and clear it.
Don't know if this has been mentioned on here before but I thought it was interesting and turned out to be quite effective against Norwich.
Better teams will work that out and put a blocker on him for there corners so he won't be as effective, but was great tactic Saturday.

Mings was absolutely outstanding Saturday..............again!!

Hope he scores a few more for them and there’s talk of another Championship team trying to sign him permanently. Some money for him would be lovely.
Basically a pub footballer who accidentally found himself earning thousands of pounds a week. Don’t think he was ever physically or mentally prepared for the big time. As someone said earlier, he’ll keep dropping and find his level in league one or something.
Perfect description imo. I hope he keeps playing and scoring goals but at a level suitable for him.

He would be a steal if he didn't keep making school boy errors. The penalty against bournemouth, the cross against Burnley, a 30 yard race for the ball against spurs where he has kicked it straight to their player, not coming quick enough for the ball against Norwich.
I will give you that one, the rest nah not for me goal keepers come into play so little during a game of football any slight mishap is exaggerated would rather have him over the No1 choice England keeper right now without hesitation.
-
He did really well Saturday his all round play was so much better than the Burnley game absolutely everything he did was an improvement............however Norwich's defending was woeful absolutely shocking Wes won't get room like that again all season.

Heaton has been average so far.
He's only outstanding game so far has actually been Leipzig in Pre Season.
I disagree I think he was a steal at the price we paid and has done well, the reason he may seem average to you is because he hasn't been called upon that much due to being behind a decent defense I expect the shots to rain in against Man city and Liverpool and expect to lose both games and reckon in at least one we will have our arses handed to us, I'd like our best keeper in goal for as many games as possible this season.

I find it sad how little faith you have in Steer.
We wouldn't even be in this league without him.
I have the utmost respect for Steer, but Heaton is streets ahead DS knew we needed a better first choice keeper in this league that is why he was in the market for one as soon as we were promoted.
-
Really hope it’s something minor would be huge to lose him and have the back 5 disrupted right now. With Liverpool and Man city coming up we need our best keeper to limit the damage.
