  1. Couldn't agree more with the post above. I hadn't tuned in until recently as I generally have low expectations for brand new podcasts, but the quality of Villa Talks has a been a pleasant surprise. You guys speak so clearly and insightfully, while avoiding tossing around the cliché football remarks that you hear constantly on the other pods. Keep up the great work lads.
  2. Mane been watching Michael Owens best hits obviously. WELL DONE HE'S 13!
  3. We should go all out for another before the fatigue sets in, then everyone behind the ball till the death.
  4. I'm actually going to cry. So proud watching this.
  5. These kids have real talent on the ball. It's going to be so nice to look back fondly on this night in a decades time when some off these lads are running the show in defense of our League title.
  6. I imagine these lads are gonna mistime a lot of tackles tonight. If any pool players get injured Klopp will only have himself to blame, and his gymnastics justifying it will be incredible.
  7. Incredibly mature performance by the the team second half. They never looked like losing. Voted Smith excellent, but it's not really on this game, it's the work he's done up to this point to make this team so resilient. What a turnaround this year had been. Very impressive.
  8. Mings masterclass in how to foul there. Everyone else needs to watch that.
  9. We are going to have to manage A LOT of suspensions over the next few weeks
  10. Martinez made more saves today than in the 9 games previous combined.
  11. Surely Conor on for the last 20 mins to take advantage of the free kicks we're sure to get. We don't track runs anyway so fine to hook someone on a yellow
  12. The ref has defintely been a bit trigger happy on the yellows, but let's perhaps question why it is Cash and Luiz feel the need to pull their opponents back there? Why is it that Cash has racked up a suspension this early in the season, and some of our midfield are close to suspensions themselves? We are second to too many balls, consistently trying to recover from positional and tactical mistakes, and not covering for each other efficiently. We aren't a cohesive unit.
  13. This is the same for everyone bar Jack in our midfield. Their shielding of the ball is remarkably poor, and it seems like they are constantly telegraphing their turns to the opposition. It's a recurring theme with Luiz and McGinn I feel, they have very little composure facing their own goal. Does anyone else notice this from game to game?
  14. How is it that our midfield have so little assurance in tight spaces? Every time we try to work it through the middle it feels like Luiz/McGinn/Traore just take a terrible touch, miscontrol or overhit the quick pass. Compare that to Wolves, quick passing fluid moves, on paper our players surely have similar skillsets by no understanding
  15. I could understand how it's not given IF the ball ends up heading away toward the touchline or something, but in this case the ball is directly in front of Trez to play if he doesn't get clipped.
  16. Can someone explain to me how 'getting some of the ball' matters, if your follow-through stops a goal-scoring opportunity?
  17. If Jack had scored that we'd have been drooling and crediting him with the ability to find space. It's just an all round great goal we need to chill
  18. Anyone else notice how loud Watkins is? Great to hear him so authoritative, it seemed like in the first few games he was a little passive but screaming for the ball and calling the press a lot more now.
  19. Idk what game some people are watching. We are so good going forward if we somehow lose this, it happens.
  20. McGinn has shown some lovely touches and vision, not sure he's that far off the pace. If he had the game you think he's having this time last year he'd have been a MOTM contender.
  21. Picking up some unknown starlet from Newquay en route, then straight back to Brum for a double deadline day deal bonanza!
  22. Stoke had the measure of us, well deserved and hopefully they get an even deeper run after a few good scalps. Point on Sunday, Lansbury on his bicycle, and all will be quickly forgiven.
  23. With space and time Lansbury spray some filthy passes, but in tight spaces his decision making and strength on the ball are woeful. He falls over so much, I'm not sure if he's mixing up his feet, then getting bundled over or what. He's looks more lightweight with every game. I can't nail it down but it feels like the kind of stuff you'd notice people messing up in Sunday league.
  24. Atrocious game of football. Who cares though, Spurs started slowly too and look what they did yesterday. Manger rated poor as I simply cannot understand how, in a game against 10 men, Konsa was allowed stay on given what happened Mings last year. Worked out I guess, but inexplicable.
