Ill be surprised if he’s not on his way there now after seeing the players we are closing in for DS needs to realise these are players hes chosen to play at championship level not the premier league.. but it seems they feel they are capable at this level also. 22 million for watkins wow .. we havent learnt anything from Ross Mccormack and Scott Hogan obviously . Maybe one and two can step up like Benrahma and Rico Henry but lets not go overboard.

Yeah precisely even though hes a good player i dont think he should be our star buy for that position so we should only snap up them two from brentford. But that wont happen because Watkins will probably be signed by next week and we will probably only get Benrahma if we even do at all.

Didn't say big signings i said the players they are going for and linked with. I understand they are on a level above but our owners gave us reason to believe we would be trying to lure a higher calibre of players to the club. Im not slating the owners but i am slightly disappointed but im hoping that can change. Yes we can bring in these one and two championship stars but that would make it around 7 signings because i still want the 5 higher name signings.

I didnt say they should choose us over those clubs but it still sickens me to see this happening obviously realistically we are far behind them and wont get the quality of players they are getting, obviously i know that but im just simply stating it hurts knowing we are this far behind. Mate i feel the same way, our owners make us believe we are trying to be the new Man City and then we are reportedly linked to all these guys its comical. Sky sports had breaking news on our bids so it must be true. Celtic want £40M for Edouard apparently so we can forget that deal as we should not pay no more than £30M after all he is playing in the SPL. As much as i dont want to pay £18M for Watkins I believe we will end up sealing the deal and paying more. Totally agree.. i am somewhat extremely disappointed with our links and players we are closing in on currently and our owners speak a good game but its baffling how we are not trying to bring in higher quality calibre of players im not saying bid for Benzema but John Swift and Co .. its stressing me out not having any players linked where i can be optimistic and a little bit excited about. Lange hasnt filled me with much confidence so far.

Edouard Benrahma Sarr/Origi Grealish Mcginn Luiz Targett Mings New CB Cash Heaton Subs: Steer, Henry,Guilbert,Konsa, Swift,Trezeguet,Wesley Dont shoot me down though with this as i feel the energy and pace that Origi can bring is at a superb standard and we know Sarr can produce that also.. Benrahma has more burst and directness than Rashica after further analysis. Im gambling my trust in Edouard more than Watkins. I know nothing about Swift but it appears as though he may be part of the squad very soon so ill throw him in there. I would expect Rico Henry to challenge Targett enough to the point where he may end up as number one. The goalkeeper we start with will be different of course.

Couldn’t agree more and just when you think we finally might be taking the more ambitious approach we become heavily linked with players who are relatively unknown and from the divisions below. I hope we sign the 5 quality players i expect on top off the guys that are linked such as matty cash and john swift .. I've never heard of either of them if they were that good I definitely would have heard of their names regardless of whether i watch that league or not. Im disappointed and that’s building up from not bidding for Mckennie early enough while we had the opportunity and then Juventus come flying in and we were never going to win any negotiations after a club like that come into the frame

Id say with Wesley Its not so much about his goal return for me its the way in which he played, i.e touch, movement and ability to test the keeper and he didn’t impress in either department and even with improvement i cant see that changing him drastically enough where that turns him into a decent premier league forward, i would love him to be the striker we paid for but having a gifted eye for gauging talent and potential he wont reach that level we need him to be. I am happy for him to be the striker we throw on with 15 mins left.

Thats more like it . His deliveries into the box is special. Im sure coaching will develop his all round game also . We should take rico and benrahma but we cant take all three brentford players so maybe watkins wont be the one that makes the switch.. we will wait and see.

Pardon??? Sorry but No when Wesley returns he will have a chair reserved in the dugout. He will be used in rotation and not our main striker whether he is fit or not. He is not good enough you can tell just by watching his game.. but it could have been worse we could have bought Haller for £40M. Davis should be embarrassed to call himself a forward and honestly id rather have hourihane play up front at LEAST he knows where the net is. Samatta may have to move on. In terms of an exciting winger look no further. Jaden Philogene-Bidace (18) already in our set up and Reminds me of Raheem Sterling when he was that age . We have to bring him into contention this season he is a golden talent and very fearless.. United did it with Rashford and Man City did it with Foden at the same age as this guy so why cant we ? . And i would like to add also that the championship has 46 fixtures as opposed to 38 in the Premier League so we should probably shave off a few goals off on a ratio basis when comparing what players score in the Premier League.

Ohhhhh thank you!! .. ive been saying this all month since i watched him in action and I completely agree ! You need to be able to showcase different ways of scoring and his movement is excellent i cant fault that. Teemu Pukki, Glenn Murray and a few others scored the same amount of goals in the championship and they just about get 10 goals in the Premier League its not easy and its not about how many goals you score in that league its how you play and how you can score what we need to analyse the most. Ross mccormack scored 29 goals and we signed him and look how that turned out, we have to look beyond just the amount of goals scored Now Odsonne Edouard i just think his feet are not as sharp or quick when he touches the ball.. seems like he doesn’t have that quick elastic touch like for example a prime sturridge would have then again he was an exception tbh but on the flip side he is quite skillful and has great ball control and knows where the goal is .of course just my opinion but if i was to take a gamble it would be Eduoard.

Spot on ! Ideally we need to replace 7 outfield players but that might be too much at once. But certainly 4 new faces will need to be in our starting line up and at least 3 new players by the opening fixture. We need a strong CB who can play RB or LB as im torn between whether we need to keep faith in Targett or Guilbert. AEG or Trez we should keep one as a bench player as we dont have the time or energy to look for squad players on top of finding key starting players. But some of the comments on here are comical. You are deluded if you think that we do not need to touch our defence .. seriously guys are you that naive or just not ambitious. 2 wingers and a striker and most believe thats all we need. I said 5 players but it’s beginning to look like 6 when you look around the board. People are saying 3-4 quality players listen its not 3-4 or even 4-5 its gonna be 5-6 and listen thats not saying get a new team or doing a last year but look at that list and that’s exactly what we need and we struggle without that, we dont have to throw them all in at the same time but 4 will need to be in there straight away and even then i would like to add a RB or LB to that list but i will not anger the fans that want to sign 3 players max 1x CB 1x LW 1x RW 1x CM 1x ST 1x GK

Based on your analysis i trust your ideas and philosophy. Moving forward as a club starts a lot like this and just to add to that im desperate to know who we would all prefer ( if theres the option of course). Guys please answer this one and reasons as to why would be appreciated Benrahma or Rashica ??? Edouard looks like his feet dont move quick enough with the ball thats my only concern other than that he looks like a good striker, also even though he gets goals it also doesnt look like he strikes the ball clean enough. Again he has talent but just what i noticed. Is it just me or do you guys get put off players that are linked with the brightons and the crystal palaces as i just dont feel like those clubs shouldnt be attracting the same players we are and if they went there they probably wont be that great. I prefer when we are linked with the same players that maybe an arsenal or chelsea, spurs had interest in.

Yes i agree a CB is required but i guess i swayed with many guys on here screaming for a RB so i said that position instead.. but yeah a CB is more essential . Weston Mckennie is probably the one to add to the list of “ remember when we almost signed him” and hes ranked one of the best players. There are so many of them players that villa almost get. And if we do get any household names they are washed up in their 30’s and i hate that its us that end up the laughing stock. The same club that conquered europe in 82 and went toe to toe at the top with the best in the early nineties . I look at some clubs like chelsea and see the players there signing and i just feel like giving up . Feels like no point in playing because the quality looks far superior and then we are linked with players that should never wear the villa shirt. I know thats chelsea who are a country mile ahead of us in terms of stature at the current moment but thats how i feel its sad that we slipped away so far behind. I feel like DS cant take us into that top 8 but would only probably get us a top 12 finish. I like DS and i would hate to see him leave honestly but i feel like we need a sharp tactical modern european coach to push us up to that new level ( I HOPE IM WRONG)

Agreed in addition to one defender (ideally a RB that can play CB also) and maybe a goalkeeper but thats a tough one to call. My worst nightmare is starting the season with samatta or davis. A prime Yaya Toure would be a dream as that is what we desperately need in the centre of the pitch. And a 2009 Ashley Young flying down the wing

1000% expect us to hit and exceed that £100M figure. 3-4 players is out the equation. We need 5 players minimum cannot stress that more. Our real targets are off the radar well the majority of them anyway as i feel watkins is a genuine target for us. Im devastated that Weston Mckennie has pretty much just signed for Juventus . We need at least one signing by next Thursday. Interestingly i had a chat with couple family members who prefer Iheanacho over Tammy.. i was outraged and it wasnt worth my time but they havent got a clue.
