What are your thoughts on said circus? The media coverage and the light show pre game was like it was a player coming back from a serious injury, rather than a ban. It's all in very bad taste personally

Not impressed by it at all but it’s typical of the current state of premier league football and the media.Trouble is a lot of fans crave for the attention and moan about it if it’s not directed at their club. All I would say is the hypocrisy of the moans about the ball being moved for the free kick and the bit of foam being extended. How many times are free kicks and throws taken from the right place that could affect play.or the penalty spot has been scuffed before a kick has been taken. For what it’s worth I along with my elderly mates who have been around the block and back didn’t contribute to any of the nonesense.Just find it amusing that the entitled Forrest fans moan about cheating when they got more to worry about than a moved ball.

  2. Some interesting posts 😊The 3 points was the main target although an exciting game the quality of football on display was like being back in the Championship. Both teams missing some key players so not unexpected and could have gone either way in truth. Will be interesting when we meet in April as we should have the likes  Mbeumo Hickey Norguaard Schade Wissa available. Its quite laughable Forrest fans crying about cheating.

I think it might be worth remembering who started this, before we condemn folk for their reactions.

Ben Mee has previous with Villa after just about finishing any hope of Wesley Moraes, making a career with us, and had Leon had his foot on the ground, it could have been number 2....It was heinous.

as for your depleted side, we too had many key players missing, that could well of affected our performance too.

The scenes that followed Ben Mee's flying tackle, while disappointing, was understandable, and the the unnecessary body check by Maupay, just added fuel to the flames.

In the end, I think justice was served.....but I think Brentford as a club are better than that, just let down badly by a couple of players, and a supporter.

PS What Emi did was idiotic, but he didn't start it.....under the circumstances, I probably would have done the same as him.

There is no comparison as far as key players missing and going further the quality of their replacements. We had 4 players who are regular starters when we have a fit squad. We were missing our front 3 both fullbacks along with Jensen in mid field.replaced by players that some never make the bench and 3 free transfers. No complaints by me as it’s the Consequences of the way we are run we are a small club punching way above but with zero debt and struggle to pay premier league players and their agents demands.I was at the game but after watching the extended highlights I can’t say we were robbed or deserved to win but with a bit of luck might have nicked it.Hope this Oli stuff dies a death but heard Talkshite were on about it today it’s all gone too far considering it’s just one brainless divvy fan.

Yeah what the hell was he talking about, Frank, defending that horrific challenge??? So after ruining poor Wesley's leg and career a few years ago, Mee then almost does that again to another of our players! What a scary, horrendous tackle, flying in so fast and high with both feet of the ground. : <  A real leg-breaker if Bailey hadn't had his leg up in the air, phew!

I thought it was a red as stated earlier but let’s not go overboard the ref was yards away and gave a yellow Villa players nearby didn’t protest other than McGinn who complained to the ref that Mee had thrown the ball away.Managers including yours tend to defend their players.but not sure what Thomas saw to come to that opinion. The player managed to carry on Dispite this “Horrendous “ challenge think the words potential leg breaking should be put in front of the word.

Hi Brentford. Thanks for coming online and giving the alternate view. Of all the games in the fixture list, it was strange that this one would throw so much controversy.😀

It is unusual for a player like Ollie to take something so to heart, they must get dogs abuse at most away grounds. Interesting to hear that he was getting stick from more than this one individual.

The highlight (or lowlight) had to the comedy that involved Maupay & Martinez. Both should know better and neither comes out of it well. I am sure their respective spouses told them how childish they both looked. I felt sorry for Kamara who just got caught in the crossfire.

You will be pleased to hear we also can play better when we also have a full complement so will do our best break up the Sky6 cartel. I wish you guys well in your quest for domination of West London or even all of it, if your ambition takes you that far.

Yes agree with you and regarding the 2 idiots rolling around maybe their managers will show back the video of this in front of their team mates and let them know how pathetic this is.I like you weren’t expecting a game like this and along with my mates expected to get well and truly stuffed.Villa certainly looked a shadow of the side that turned over City and Arsenal although seeing Cash starting gave me some minor hope. The Mee tackle changed the whole game obviously but who knows I felt we were getting more and more pushed back and were relying on the ever decreasing counter in the second half.

Toney needs tl stay, at least till the end of the season, you have properly looked after him during his ban, he owes you.

People of his character don’t think like that,he’s been fawning over Arsenal for the last 6 months was hoping he would be gone with a nice wedge of money coming our way in January but expect with our injury problems that won’t happen.

Brentford aren't battering anyone anytime soon.

I am afraid you are right we won’t have anywhere near a competitive starting line up untill February.I doubt if Toney will now be sold in January.Villa will be odds on by KO Sunday with the bookies and they are a good barometer.

No Toney, No Mbeumo, No Rico Henry, No Aaron Hickey, No Kevin Schade, No Kristoffer Ajer, No Nathan Collins
Just lost to the worst team in the league Sheffield United.

Never have a better time to play Brentford away. We should win this.

Draw would be good but think along with too many key players out and your excellent form a defeat is on the cards.Thomas Frank has done an incredible job getting a tune out of this squad this season and but expect to end the season strong so watch out next April at Villa park.

Maybe he owes the bloke who changed him from a winger under Dean to a striker a bit of gratitude.Really pleased for him though as he’s proving some of the doubters wrong yet again a genuine decent bloke.

Is Da Silva injured again? He's one I thought had plenty of potential when they came up and had good spells but they seem happy with the safety first midfield and Jensen the one to chip in with 4-5 goals a season.

Yes Again,he has an ongoing condition that looks like it could be career ending.Always thought he would eventually move on to bigger club as on his day has the ability to run a game.

You almost look a better team without Toney. You will have another decent season, I thought you were better than your results in this tournament. Sort your defence out, stay injury free and you could upset the status quo.

I have thought the same and the facts are we never lost a league game last season when he didn’t play.To contradict that we will miss Toney as he has vastly improved the last 2 seasons and his all round game both defensively and in attack will be glad when he moves on and he doesn’t want to be with us although he’s still being paid while he swans around the nightclubs of the world. Not confident that we will improve on last seasons results as Raya was a big miss when he was out of the team last season and he’s def off.

  12. Thought it was an entertaining game 2 nil up a bit against the run of play but dreadful defending letting in 3 poor goals when you let a central defender run from the half way line and waltz through the defence then wide open at the back for Cash to leave Hickey for dead and smash home.Better second half when we had some ball winners on the pitch and more like our starting 11.Could have gone either way 14 shots Villa 3 on target with 10 and 3 for the Bees.Good work out for both sides with the season still a couple of weeks away.I would think both managers will be happy with this tournament as there doesn’t seam to have been any serious injuries which is always the worry.

Interesting tey havent sold Raya yet

Doubt if Raya plays again for the first team refused a new contract so Flekken was signed and will be 1st choice keeper ( not over impressed so far)This tournament is an improvement on the usual pre season friendlies for me as you are playing against fellow PL teams.Although Brentford have not won a game I think they have played well and it’s been a good test for squad players with the likes of Norguaard Schade Hickey Toney missing.
