I'm not talking about 16 year olds.

Talking about gems like McGinn for instance.

I'm sure we will, but they are rare in reality - you tend to only get one or two a season across the whole league. I would say this season only the attacker at Watford comes to mind

His pressing is still first rate and it's a huge part of why we're getting on top through the middle of the ground.

The goals will come. It's a new system.

This!! Incredible work rate, the goals will come. I know Danny is the better finisher but he puts the whole team on the front foot in games and causes issues in defence all the time.

Are the majority of the media going to start turning on Boris now?

He seems to have gotten away with Brexit and Covid to a certain degree. This repeated breaking of manifesto promises and tax rises could be the turning point.

He’s on the front page of the Daily Star with the caption “how can you tell when he’s lying, his lips move”.

You would of thought that they would of got him on something by now, plenty of free hits, but I have to agree with Peston

Why breaking his tax pledge probably won't harm Boris Johnson

ITV.com on this one, I don't think the tax jump will do it as I think it will at least have some support from people from both parties.

The UK national vaccine Centre opens next month I believe.  They will be able to develop new vaccines in house and produce enough for the whole nation in a couple of months under the same roof I understand so the UK should have a lot more resilience in future.

Which will have tons of funding for next few years but then in about a decade will be massively underfunded and probably shutdown when COVID becomes a distant memory.

  5. He was on and off yesterday, a couple of awful passes from Ash (who I thought was great generally) didn’t help him. Always puts in a shift and he isn’t first choice and if either Bailey or Watkins had been fit they probably would of started ahead of him. I’m not sure any of our real rivals have a player who scored 10 last year as their 3rd choice left attacker…..

  6. Due to ridiculous traffic (and my kids weak bladders), even though I left Basingstoke just before 11am I only got to the Club Shop at 14:40ish and the kids area was like it had been hit by a Tornado and no named kits available for my two lads so at least yesterday I think they did some good business.

Managed to order them something off my phone in Warwick services on the way home (Bailey and Ings).

    This is what I think.

Too many seek to think a striker can only play centrally.

Mane plays left inside forward, Salah right inside forward.

I think watkins would be deadly as a left inside forward, especially with Bailey, ings and buendia buzzing around.

I think our best front 4 might be watkins - ings - Bailey with buendia in behind at the point of a midfield 3, or as one of two 8s.

I agree, although I think Emi isn't quite fit enough for that role yet but hopefully will be by the time Ollie is back (after international break I guess).

  8. I thought he was really good yesterday, don’t know what game others on here were watching. I know football is about opinions but some on here are beyond comical. Dougie definitely has bad days, this wasn’t one of them.

  9. He gets a pass from me, didn’t have too many options and half the team that did start didnt look fit to me. I’m not sure that is “on” anyone, I think we have been unfortunate in the pre-season/build up to this game. Hopefully another week and some of the players will be improved but I still think we are a couple of weeks away from being in full flow unfortunately.

  10. Not a game for Nakamba. He has his role in this squad but calling him not good enough for Championship when he was the main reason we won probably 5 games last season is just silly. He is better for the games when we are playing like Watford did today.

A 36 year old left back coming in to show an established left back how to defend a plucky winger, would suggest maybe we might have had too much faith in the established left back, to start with.

Yeah agreed. Seems bad Targett was back although I think he went into panic mode and never made it back. A couple of games on the bench, me thinks

  12. Again don’t get the overreactions, my best mate is a Watford fan and I said it was a great time to play us as we have some injuries and general lack of fitness although even I didn’t see Such poor performances from Cash and Targett coming. Buendia also gets a mention for being terrible but again doesn’t look fit. McGinn was good and Nakamba was fine once playing a a ball winner in front of the defence. Too far to come back from in the end but at least there was improvement and gives me hope for next week. Looking forward to my first trip to VP since the last time we played Watford.

I find the hate a bit pathetic tbh.

The guy took us up, kept us up, and signed a contract last season when he didn't have to, which is earning us one of the largest transfer fees of all time.

Jack, you go with my blessing and thanks. I hope your shins make this sale look like a masterstroke, but I will never devalue the joy you gave me to watch you in full flow.

Who are we if we are we turn against perhaps our most talented ever player just because he wants a shot at the real big-time in a short career.

We may not have all made the same decision, but it would have been a hard one. He is no judas.

I just hope we spend wisely over the next couple of years. If we do, he'll probably regret it, but there we go.

    UTV.

I agree with all of this. Timing is unfortunate but we can’t offer him the stage where he can turn himself into a world star. Let’s hope we spend the money wisely…

  14. I can’t wait for Ratchet and Clank, it was pretty much the game that sold me on the PS5, love platform/actions games so this one looks incredible.

Also set the download off for FF VII Intergrade, which was my favourite game of last couple of years.

That's the thing though "odd minute here or there"

That's what josh King will get too... £40k a week maybe more, what are people expecting king to do that those we already have won't?

Because he didn't do it for Everton that's for sure

The point is more about giving them first team football and having the "backup" time on someone like Josh King

Yeah we are better off bringing louie barry in than josh king

I disagree with this as the like of Louie and Chuck could do with a season or so smashing it in the championship so they are ready for prem league football, rather than getting the odd minute here or there.

Im no fan of the Josh King signing but seems for a year he fills a gap, especially as Wes could also do with a half season loan to get match fitness.
