  1. Yet another poor, one dimensional performance from Villa. Not one player broke sweat except for a very good cameo from Bailey.

Villa’s midfield really starting to worry me as the players in there are too similar without pace to run beyond the forward.

As someone else said 50m bid for Luiz in the summer Villa should bite their hand of. McGinn is the only creative spark there but he also lacks real pace and isn’t a playmaker.

Stated at start of Jan window Villa needed 3 quality players to push on for a CL placement. Nothing has come in other than a championship player.

Presently Villa will struggle for 6th with Emery’s high line and the owner’s lack of investment this window.

Palace have now agreed a deal for Blackburn midfielder Adam Wharton, £18m potentially £22m with add-ons

That’s a really good signing by Palace. Good player who will only get better.

Hate to say it... I think Greenwood might...

Yeah forgot about him as he’s on loan. Actually posted that Villa should go in for him on loan at the time but was slated for it on here.😂

However, he would be the only one from Man U I’d take but of course he comes with a multitude of baggage!

I quite like this January transfer window. Of course, the FFP thing solidifies the advantage of the established big clubs with their massive and talented squads, but there’s something refreshing about thinking about the players clubs already have or gambles like Rogers. And we know that Unai and his team can improve players perhaps better than anyone in the league.

So if I’m catching you right you feel FFP is advantageous for the bigger clubs?

Would you prefer the Man City’s, Newcastle’s and Chelsea’s with their affluent owners to buy up all the good players available while those they can’t use farmed out on loan?

I’ve noted that since the introduction of FFP more teams are closing on the top four because the Sky 4 can no longer purchase all available talent!

Rogers is being purchased imo to push the wide men already at the club into better performances. Let’s face it neither Diaby, Bailey or Zaniolo have been great recently so Rogers will be chomping at the bit to take one of their places.

  5. His first touch hasn’t really improved under Smith or indeed Emery which is alarming.

I also still feel Emery tying him down to be in and around the box more doesn’t really benefit the team or the player.

Watkins previously made a lot of runs in behind teams on the flanks which gave Villa’s midfielders more to hit. Now he is too easily marked being a lot more static through the middle.

This has certainly contributed to Villa’s lack of goals recently imo.

Barely kicked a ball in 2 years and before that was injury prone for another 2.

He'll be well off and do nothing and his body will probably go into shock and break down

    Doubt it.

Would be a good move for everyone, as long as we can find a replacement.  Hopefully Unai has a gem like Moreno up his sleeve.  It doesn't look like we are in for Phillips anyway.

    Should be.

Not getting in quality cover for kamara and cash is what i am afraid of.

I really hope it does not come and bite us in the arse when the business end of the season hots up.

This basically. Reason why I wanted Phillips to push Kamara so he doesn’t feel his place in the team is secure and indeed likewise with Cash.

Villa are also far stronger through the middle with Konsa at CB!

City played Stones and Lewis in midfield against us (when we completely dominated and outplayed them) with Philips, Kovacic and Nunes on the bench…

Philips is an overpaid clogger who just breaks up play, fitness issues, injury troubles, on huge/unwarranted wages, stupidly overpriced…

City waste money and can afford to do it and get away with it… despite the ridiculous amounts of breaches and broken rules…

Pep just recently came out and “apologised”… he doesn’t have a place for him in the team, doesn’t suit them or their style.

Pep makes plenty of mistakes and is the pure definition of a chequebook manager… just look at his expenditure on defenders alone since he went there…

Heard it all now. Pep a chequebook manager. 😂. I suppose Ferguson was too. 😂

The level of delusion on here is something else. 😂

    Love it.
