Backward step to sell Westwood unless we have a plan to bring in more than just Jedinak at CM.  As things stand if you had to choose a partner for Jedinak from Westwood, Tschibola and Gardner, Westwood would be my choice. Tschibola might become a better option but from what I've seen so far he is one for the future.  Let Gardner go if anyone

Don't let anyone go if all we have are 4 cm options including Jedinak who is not even here. Although we have Lyden (young and unproven) and Veretout (looks like he is off).

And no I don't think it is harsh, my suggestion of arrogance was because of the comment that came out last week about 'good players poorly managed' that is arrogant and quite clearly incorrect.

He can hardly come out and say they're all crap true and all as it seems. He might think differently in private and be working on getting rid. He needs to improve the squad. I don't think that he is under any illusions about that but he is invariably going to end up with  a few incompetent players as lets face it - who will want some of them? He needs them to believe that they are decent and publicly display confidence in players at his disposal. Otherwise they will think that they are not wanted, morale will fall. If he needs to use them he at least needs them to believe that he trusts them to perform. Whether he does or not is a completely different matter.

McCormack will be on free kick and penalty duties methinks.

I can't remember what it is like to have a dead ball specialist in the side so if we have two I mght just have to go and have a lie down as I worry that it will just become too much too soon.

Obviously not an ideal attitude, but worth remembering that Benteke, Ayew, et al went on strike before joining us and were well worth buying. Even Gareth Barry, who's seen by many as a model pro kicked up a hell of a stink to try and engineer a move to Liverpool. I'd much rather ambitious quality players like Diawara than loyal plodders like Westwood.

It works the other way too. Look at Tony Hibbert. 25 years and he finds out via the website that he's not getting another contract.

  5. I don't think that there is any doubt that the club is in a better position than 6 weeks ago. We were in limbo not a clue what was going to happen. Xia in fairness, has come in and steadied the badly listing ship, made some good appointments and the club is starting to make some good moves on and off the field. I like what is happening in terms of marketing, club structures and player acquisitions, particularly the type of characters that we are recruiting in to the playing staff.

Yes he has made some rash comments on twitter but nothing criminal. I'm optimistic for the future and am looking forward to what may happen. If it all goes tits up then so be it. It's football. Life will go on.

    Onwards and upwards (hopefully).

Remember there was a club called Aston Villa who tried that with some guy named Gareth Barry?

There's been no suggestion Amavi wants to leave anyway. At all.

This was the time when Liverpool wanted him right? I think that this was the last time we told the "big boy" to do one so to speak. Every time since then we've bent over, handed the vaseline to the buying club while biting our lip and digging our fingernails into the desk in front of us to brace ourselves for what was to come. At least when he did eventually go he went to City and won something and made something of himself. Not just went to Liverpool and did what everybody else does when they go there.

FWIW I don't see Amavi going anywhere....... yet.

  7. I think Tony been fined on a regular basis for post match comments are a very high possibility. Imagine a few decisions go against us such as at the turn of the year last season when we could have had a few pens e.g. at West Brom and I think also at West Ham. He'll just call the ref out there and then similar to Holloway. Although he might be saved from the fines because of his broken English.

    I can't wait for it.

If we could get rid of him and lescott over the weekend that would be fantastic.

    A terrible signing.

I've said it numerous times but I still can't believe he was considered a coup for us.

He had just had a pretty decent world cup where he looked decent a winning the ball and then giving it to Cuadrado , Rodriguez et al. so it was seen as a bit of a coup. Unfortunately we didn't have these players.

I'm not saying he would be a massive loss but utilised correctly I think he does a job as is evident with Colombia.

In my opinion, Grealish needs to play in a position that pressurises him into consistently producing an end result/product, so it would be best to move him to the central attacking midfield spot. I fear if he isn't pressurised into coming up with an end product consistently, he will continue down the path he is on, that is a 'luxury' player, only to be used in the final 15 minutes of a game when 3 or 4 goals in the lead

He won't get a game here so.
