  1. Most Russians have accepted this and its being openly spoken about in Russian media. But they have now moved the goalposts. They may have failed to beat Ukraine but they are steadily pushing all of NATO back to the West. There really is a perception that they are fighting NATO rather than a force armed with NATO weapons. Whenever a westerner serving with Ukraine is killed the Russians portray it as proof that they are fighting NATO.
  2. Sorry, I didn't make myself clear. Russia haven't found other countries who are willing to buy gas and oil at prices high enough that replace the revenue from the West. Russia is selling plenty of gas and oil but at well below normal prices.
  3. Russia are making small gains but suffering massive loses to men and equipment. Everyone is waiting for Russia's big offensive. If that's yet to come then Ukraine can expect to take more loses. If the recent push is the big offensive then its been such a disaster that no-one has realised its the big offensive. Bakhmut is slowly being surrounded and it will fall at some point. I would imagine that Russia want to take it by the first anniversary. Ukraine will want to hold it for same reason. The Russian economy is starting to decline noticeably. They no longer have the ability to artificially support the economy with reserves. Tax Revenue from businesses is falling whilst spending is rocketing. Russia simply hasn't replaced the revenue from selling gas and oil to the West. Most wars tend to be an ebb and flow. Russia is winning if you think the cost they are paying is reasonable. Western tanks will be hitting the battlefield in a few months. Russia's ability to repel them is growing less every day.
  4. He had a thing about the test card. He would record tge music from the test card and play it as he walked around. A cowboy obsessed with the test card, Ezra the crazed god botherer and a Polish Nazi living in a tent on the ring road. You can see why I left!!!!!
  5. I have just added a link above. I knew Ezra. Another character. He had something like 20 kids.
  6. No. But I suspect you are referring to the local loon who did exactly that. Absolutely true. He was a classic. "The Wolverhampton Cowboy" https://www.logosapostolic.org/testimony/CowboyDavidCox.htm
  7. I think your imagination is running away with you. The wise men were bearing gifts not wearing gifts. If they were the wise man bringing gold would look like Mr T. I remember being a cowboy in our school nativity. But that's because I was schooled in Wolverhampton and we could never find 3 wise men or a virgin. 50 years later, I still have no idea what myrh is and I have never come across it in the real world. Although I do have to put on a dressing gown, put a tea towel on my head and pretend to be a shepherd in order to reach orgasm. Nothing weird at all.
  8. Nor was there a census in Bethlehem around that time. Nor did any census require people to return to their place of birth. I wasn't really aiming for historical accuracy.
  9. 25/12/0000, Bethlehem, dressed as a dominatrix , bringing gifts of anal lube and nipple tassles. That should make infant nativity plays far more entertaining.
  10. Several sources provide information on verified Russian loses. They are broadly in agreement because they are working from the same videos, death notifications etc. Verified deaths has just passed 10,000 for the entire war. Obviously the actual figure is far higher. But 800 of those verified deaths have occurred in the past 10 days! Just think about that. 12% of the total in just 2 weeks. Everyone is waiting for a massive Russian attack. It might have started 2 weeks ago. I definitely think the current loses are Wagner being sacrificed to stop them trying to grabbing power when Putin dies.
  11. Something has gone bang at Melitopol Airport. Not sure exactly what atbtge moment. Apparently the Partisan activity around that area is ramping up significantly.
  12. There is a lot of misleading information about tank loses. So take everything I write below with a pinch of salt. But even Russian sources are now reporting massive loses. One credible Russian source estimates they have lost 50% of the tanks that were in service before the war. They have been replaced by stored tanks that are much older , much less effective and sitting ducks for modern weapon. Debate rages on the forthcoming offensive. Should they use their best tanks to punch through Ukrainian lines? Or keep them to counter the NATO tanks that will be delivered? On the other side Ukraine is now believed to have more tanks than before the war. Loses have been replaced by captured Russian Tanks most of which were the more modern ones. Tank loses seem to have more psychological impact than troop loses. Russians still have that WW2 mindset of massive loses but ultimate victory with tanks rolling over the enemy.
  13. Hopefully this. Putin dies soon. There is a massive internal power struggle that doesn't lead to civil war but does seriously undermine operations in Ukraine. Whoever comes to power in Russia blames Putin for everything. New Russia withdraws to old borders and negotiates a settlement whereby Crimea reverts to Ukraine but is Policed by a neutral country for a set period. NATO agree a demilitarised zone on both sides of NATO/Russian borders. We invade France. Just in case.
  14. Amazing news folks. The Nazi regime in Ukraine have invaded the UK and annexed us. They now rule the UK. I have rock solid proof from Polish TV News. There is no other possible explanation.
  15. Thanks. Do you have any tips for getting the glue into the very small gaps?
  16. Has anyone checked if there is a grassy knoll nearby?
  17. My double glazing has plastic trims on the inside. They are still firmly attached to the windows but have come away from the walls slightly. 1. Any idea what glue to use for PVC to plaster? 2. Any idea how to get that glue into a 1mm gap? I really don't want to rip the trims off and fix them from new.
  18. Russia supplied a missile that shot down a civilian airliner over Ukraine. Isn't that an act of war?
  19. I went to see the Bottom Live shows. There was an amazing anarchic atmosphere, some vicious heckles and equally vicious responses by Rik Mayall. It was so good that I booked to see the show again at another venue. It was the same hecklers, shouting the same heckles at exactly the same time in the show. Illusions shattered.
  20. My minor claim to fame - I made Bob Mortimer laugh and got a round of applause at a Shooting Stars Show. Shooting Stars did live shows. I went to one in Wolverhampton. The panel included Wolves Manager Mark Magee. Wolves were doing badly and he wasn't well liked. Bob was doing the "True or False" round and simply said "Mark Magee, Football Manager". I yelled out "False".
  21. https://apnews.com/article/fact-check-zelenskyy-nato-russia-nuclear-162428316989 “Zelensky did not ask NATO to use nuclear weapons”.
  22. As I said at the time, it was fake and I had seen it a few months ago. The subtitles suggested he was asking for a pre-emptive nuclear strike. He wasn’t. He did suggest pre-emptive use of sanctions and pre-emotive destruction of Russia weapons before they became active. That seems very reasonable to me. It’s the standard that Russia has already set as acceptable.
  23. I love Monty Python, but it has a problem, 80% was utter rubbish. The remaining was pure genius that is unmatched. It’s an easy to watch 20 minutes of Python and conclude it’s not worth watching.
  24. Not quite British TV comedies but worth a look - John Cleese delivering the eulogy at Graham Chapman's funeral. Bob Newhart's monologue - the Student Driver What Goes Up Might Come Down - After dinner speech by Birmingham Airtraffic controller David Gunson. Lenin Of The Rovers by Alexi Sayle Welcome To Our Village. Please Invade Carefully - Radio Comedy
