  1. The fixtures don't look like getting much easier, despite some on here stating that up until the Liverpool game there's some "winnable" games. Palace, Leicester and West Ham are all doing well and you wouldn't lay much on AV beating them. The only other two games before Liverpool are West Brom and Norwich, and neither of those looks like a banker. If I had to put any money on the next five games, I'd say one win and that would be the West Brom game.
  2. What about a promotion specialist like Warnock? Getting him in now would give him a good period of time to get to know the squad, retain/jettison where necessary and bring in new additions where needed. Moyes would also be a reasonable candidate if Randy fancies a crack at a last ditch survival effort.
  3. How about "All I need is a miracle" by Mike and the Mechanics?
  4. As referenced on other threads, January could change everything. If Remi can bring in a striker who can score 10 goals between now and May, a midfielder to scare the pants off the oppo, and a rock solid central defensive organiser, then all may not be lost....look at West Brom back in 2006
  5. I'd expect Bournemouth to face away as others such as Burnley, Hull etc have done in the past. Norwich you'd think don't have enough to stay up either. But Big Sam knows his way around the league and will probably squeak Sunderland into 17th, Swansea should get a new boss capable of lifting them to safety and you'd think that Newcastle have enough now that they've turned the corner a bit. For what it's worth, I think Villa will go down but from this point onwards, it's almost a plus point if you go down fighting. What would be more depressing than relegation is if the second half of the season mirrors much of the first.
  6. Hi all Given the increased interest in Villa's fortunes based on the respective performance of our two clubs this year, I've been reading this forum with some interest (incidentally, the dialogue on here is of a much higher standard than Sky Blues Talk). I'm not on here to mock or be abusive - if you have many Cov-supporting mates then you willl have seen lots of gleeful Villa bashing on Faecbook and Twitter, but IMO such people have very short memories and also are unaware of how ironic it is that they're mocking AVFC whilst we've spent the last 4 years playing the likes of Crawley, Colcehster, Stevenage, Hartlepool etc and are still by no means guaranteed promotion. For what it's worth, a bit of friendly rivalry is fine and though us Cov fans always cheer when we hear that ACFC have lost, I'd really prefer that you don't go the way of other top clubs like Forest, Wednesday and Leeds and fade out of the Prem without ever really look like coming back. Look forward to getting involved. Cheers Rob
