Sorry but how can you assert that he will never be premier league quality? He has already performed admirably and to good effect in the premier league. Granted there were days when he could have played better but he was younger more inexperienced and thrown in at the deep end. I recall being impressed after  many games and the previously mentioned one against Spurs is but one example .

He is improving and will most likely continue to do so if properly coached.

Think I'd actually drop out two `leaders' and play Baker at centre half and the groundsman in the middle( at least for home games).

Gutted for Baker, actually. Was doing well. Story of his career really. Plagued with bad luck.

Poor second half from Villa. Thank God for Elphick, really holds the defence together. Gardner and Westwood simply not good enough today. We'll improve a lot with Jedinak in the side and perhaps a new striker.

Actually, I think you have been way over the top. You were slagging Crespo off after 20 mins into his debut!!! How many games has Veretout played in this league? I stick by my post. I think Veretout has been really good first half. 

Veretout has been excellent. Terrific energy. Richards and Hutton playing well. The rest of them pretty much average.

I live in Catalonia and rely on streams to watch Villa. Most of the time I struggle to find one with decent quality. It's 4 o'clock kick off. The wife gives me guff for wasting my time watching a team "Que mai guanya!! (which never wins) my Catalan mates tell me to jack it in and just watch Barça, they reckon I'd be happier, more cheerful. I'm sick of the sympathetic pat on the back on saturday nights out. It's been going on too long.

This season I was full of optimism, boring people about how we'd signed young eager talented players....they just laughed at me, "you've sold Benteke, you're going down". "But we've signed Adama and Gil will get game time!" ....bla bla bla..

Sick of putting a brave face on things and living off scraps of optimism. Tired of the ridicule, the knowing smiles, the endless shaking of my head when asked about the Villa result.

It's the Rugby world cup for me now. Supporting Villa is soul destroying right now and I just can't bring myself to watch the cup game against THEM.
