  1. Had a very decent first-half and really, apart from the two wayward passes, was quite solid all round. Looked up for it too and got stuck in. Unlucky to be booked. Faded in the second half and the substitution was needed.

No urgency no invention no showing for the ball. Slow decision making backwards passing. Gutless and or lazy and checked out.

    Get rid.

Actually think he has plenty of invention, always shows for the ball. He's playing out of position. I think we should switch him and McGinn or bring That French fella in to replace McGinn.

because he keeps hitting the first man from nearly every cross?

He hasn't really impressed me. He didn't really do all that much at his last two clubs and got dropped.  Not an improvement on Targett!

What's going on? You'd think we were on a 18 match losing streak the way we're playing, we're so nervous on the ball.

Chambers and Mings are at the back padding their passing stats. Martinez seems nervous. Cash can't seem to control the ball anymore. Digne is struggling to communicate with anyone on the pitch right now.

Luiz is doing surprisingly well, if you ignore that fact his free kicks and corners have been worse than an 8-year old playing Sunday League. Coutinho/Buendia have been anonymous, although I don't think it's their fault given everything I just talked about.

Everyone is playing as if we're on the worst run of form in the clubs history. I get that Newcastle are pressing hard, but that shouldn't be making us as nervous as it seems to be.

I agree on Luiz. Not doing badly today at all and dare I say it but our very few opportunities have stemed from his getting on the ball and driving forward.

Arsenal fans seem convinced it's them. Would be horrible business by us. We can never hope to catch them if we're selling them our best players (for no real reason too?).

I agree. Why sell an established first teamer to our rivals? Arsenal are where we want to be and selling them one of our better players isn't going to help us catch them. We don't even need to sell. Makes no sense whatsoever.

  6. Everton under Ferguson certainly set out to rough us up and Mina and Richarlison in particular were dishing it out. Thought Villa held up well but in games like these a big physical presence in the midfield would be a great asset.

Great goal from Buendia. Cash had a great game and the back 4 deserve credit for keeping those thugs out.

Despite the error, Digne has been phenomenal first half. He is ferociously competitive. Defensively very sticky. Mings - replace him in the summer. Can’t tolerate anymore of that nonsense.

Digne mistake was terrible and we had a lucky let off. Mings does that and he's crucified!

bang average, laughable we once upon a time thought we might lose him to man city lol

Ok, so you don't like him. That's about the worst insult that could be thrown at him.

Maybe you should watch rugby instead. You've no clue about football if you think they are similar players.

  9. Funny how mistakes by two of our better players on the day led to their goals. Encouraging that we were the better side for 60 mins. Great turn around second half.

Buendia the stand out player . Terrific today. Let's hope he continues in the same vein from here on in.

Thought Mings showed true leadership qualities and Ramsey and Luiz improved a lot second half.

We would be half decent if we had a good striker.

Coutinho at Villa, wow ! 😀

He scored nearly a goal every four matches at Barcelona: 26 in 106 appearances. I don't think that's bad, considering he's a midfielder, not a forward. Maybe their expectations were a bit too high.

No, plenty of opportunities under 3 different coaches. He has been pretty awful at Barça. Hope this move works out!
