Fair enough. They only list senior football, PL 2 and international games from youth level. Maybe he played a lot as DCM when he was a teenager at 15-16?
From what I remember he was basically going to become a DCM or a RB, and eventually kinda cemented himself as a CB. Obviously we saw him used at RB previously for us too, maybe even in midfield for one or two games

4 career games in midfield at Manure according to Transfermarkt.
Possibly in the first team, but I know he was very much utilised as a CDM + RB coming through their ranks. It’s not a strange position to him or one of those “let’s convert him” jobs

As soon as the back 5 was ditched his days were numbered.
I was a fan of his, but he didn't look great when he played, mind you most of the squad was poor at that time.Thought it was interesting that Gerrard utilised him as a holding midfielder, a position he’s played a fair bit at United. He’s a good squad player because of his diversity across the pitch however he’s definitely not Top 4 material it would seem. Can’t see us letting him go back early

Just saw a journalist on Twitter say things are progressing with Hickey. Saw a reply asking about Joe Gomez, to which the journalist replied that Gomez is likely going to Real Madrid.
Of course I thought “oh, it’s a troll account” but no. Joe Gomez is going to Real Madrid!? Wtf

Named in the Ligue 1 team of the season so far (so far, like a midway point award).
Not being funny but surely if we wanted to buy the current best right back in France it would cost us a fortune.

Man's got the antibodies of a housefly.
I thought he has spoken about vaccination so assumed he was but 3 outs in a year, he may be one of ours not vaccinated and therefore isolating everytime he's been a close contact?
Maybe people who have took the vaccine are just getting it more commonly

Strange that people think he wasn’t any good, he was dispossessed twice and one of those times Norwich had 3 players onto him. Exquisite passer of the ball and he has great footwork when in control too

This kid can do things with a football that will shock many considering his age

He should be making cameos not be center stage. Great for the squad but not starting eleven.
I think Gerrard is utilising Young to ensure the system they want to play with us being embedded properly. He’s essentially another mouth piece, another set of eyes, and a huge amount of experience. It’s very telling that he is up off the bench for Carney’s assist, in JJ’s face after his goal. He’s doing his coaching badges alongside his role here and I have no doubt he’ll be working very closely with the academy next season.
Fantastic signing.

Loved that after his goal the players sort of nudged him into carrying it. I know at one point he looked to pass to McGinn, but McGinn urged him to take the ball forward instead. The goal will give him a huge boost, but having that backing from your teammates and knowing that they trust you, priceless.

Need to get another goal and not let them back into it. Test for Stevie G here

I think we would all agree that he’s been our best player since Gerrard took the helm. Such a shame man, I hope he comes back and is able to perform again, knowing our luck he’ll be done for now. Fml.

Is Rodgers really that wrong though. The Europe Conference is it called. Has anyone watched a single game? What even is it?
Absolute waste of time and effort is what it is in a time where players are dropping down in training due to the workload .
Intertoto Cup vibes I think

Even when we get "battered" we looked much more solid and capable of creating chances.
9 points from Gerrard's first 5 fixtures, with the two defeats being narrow defeats to City and Liverpool, is at the very upper end of what I thought was within the realms of possibility.
100%. We get battered but we don’t look like we’re going to concede constantly, we actually have resilience. I can see us getting a fair few 0-0s under Stevie G.

I know I’ve drawn comparisons to Benteke previously but from the same context it makes me feel sad. I remember watching CB at Liverpool and thinking damn, this isn’t our Benteke, I’d even be offended when seeing him slated because WE knew what he was capable of. When he’d be called nothing but a header merchant, full well knowing how good I’ve seen him play on the deck.
Same goes for this guy. He isn’t a dive merchant, he isn’t a player without end product, he’s the best player I ever saw in our colours and yet we’re here again after yet another poor performance. But I don’t think it’s completely on him, I feel that City have simply bought a player that they didn’t need. A player that doesn’t fit. Hope he gets it together because I don’t want to see him at Crystal Palace on loan in 2 years time, he deserves to shine.

Saw this a mile off. I’m pretty sure he’s in our top 3 when it comes to workrate, that role behind the striker is up for grabs

Way way way too early for this talk. He hasn't even been that bad? Has he looked like a £100m player in his first what... 15 games? Absolutely not. But they didn't spend that money on him for 15 games, he's doing fine and is finding his feet in a new team with a different way of playing. He'll be a much better player in that system next season onwards.
2 goals and 2 assists in nearly 20 appearances. I’m sorry but any other player gets bought for £100m I guarantee he’s being labelled as a flop for that kind of output.
He has admitted himself that he is more used to being the main focus and he doesn’t have the ball as much at Citeh. Some players need to be the main outlet in order to succeed, the problem is when you pull them out of their team that team will not be able to function. We saw it happen to us. Citeh will never have that problem because they have so many players to rely on and not one player will ever be their sole focus and in order to be a top team it has to be that way.
Any time I see JG playing for them he just looks lost because he’s still trying to be the player he was for us whenever he gets the ball. It’s not going to work as well when you don’t get the ball as often though.

Benteke vibes. Hate to say I called it. Not the centre of attention any more and he can’t thrive unless he’s the focal point.

Another signing for the academy it seems, he should be familiar as he was here on a 2 week trial 2 years ago. SPL is a farmers league but to be getting game time at 17 is still a feat.
