I dont care about international football.
It annoys me when players favour their national team over the employers that pay them.
That said I accept it won't ever change.
Let’s hope you don’t get a call up ey

but that’s very weak by him then that he only cares about when he scores. Yes be disappointed when you don’t score but celebrate when your team mates score otherwise just you just creating a divide between you and the other players. I’m intrigued to know if any other strikers don’t celebrate regularly their team mates scoring. If he scores should the other players ignore him and run back to the centre circle ready for kick off and let him celebrate on his own? Of course not.
He did go over to them, I think Ollie himself would say he’s not been up to scratch this season but I really doubt he has an issue with us scoring or winning or anything else of that ilk. As I previously said to me it just looked like in that moment he probably thought “ffs I could’ve had one there” - what I would hope is that reflecting on it, he’ll be glad at least that his positioning was great and if he keeps getting into the right position his goals will eventually come

Of course he shouldn't but he is arguably his country's best player and currently his country is going through absolute hell (as I have previously explained on here). Was he fit enough to go to AFCON? No. Did he try put his country and the pride of his nation before his own recovery? Yes, most likely he did, and I admire him for it because I can only empathise with the situation in Burkina Faso right now - I doubt many of us on this forum can relate to it at all.
For anybody interested in trying to empathise:
They nearly got to the final, imagine the elation and sheer positivity this would have brought to the country! I really feel it for Bertie and I'm sure when he is fit he'll be showing us his silky skills once more, but for now can we please not slag him off or berate him because we genuinely have no clue what he, his family and his country are going through right now.

I thought the whole " doesn't celebrate when others score now " thing was bollox, but i've now seen more and more people saying they've noticed this, both on here and across social media.
When we score, I'm not usually taking note of these things as i'm mostly caught up in elation.
Seems there might be something to this?
I don't think he is unhappy when we score, I just think he is a striker. JJ's second goal, Ollie was clear and would have had a tap in - of course we are all elated that JJ scored, but for Ollie in that moment he is probably thinking "I'm in the right position and I could have got my goal." He just wants a goal, his job is to score goals and his tally this season is very poor, I can't imagine it is doing much for his confidence.

I love how people forget how many games he played last season every week

Can’t believe we can sign him for less than £40m in the summer

Not aimed at you strictly, at you but at least 5 posts have said that here. Your stat of 4 mistakes in 3 years proves the agenda, doesn't disprove it as you wanted
There is no agenda, you’re odd mate. I even said for all his solid defending he always seems to make a mistake, and what annoys me is the way he tries to be a superhero after. I have always backed Mings, he is our captain, but I’m sick of anytime somebody has a criticism of him they are told they “have an agenda.” Grow up please I beg.

4 in 3 seasons, yet apparently he made 3 just last night.
This stat doesn't support what you're saying in the slightest.
Please direct me to where I said he made 3 mistakes last night. Cheers

Tyrone Mings has committed more errors directly leading to an opposition goal than any other outfielder over the last three Premier League seasons (4) (Stat via @WhoScored)

I told a Steward and to keep an eye but we weren’t sure which bloke it was. They all seemed to have gone quiet after that. It was right near end of game.
Should have punched him in the face tbf

Fair point.
But IMO Mings is there primarily to defend.
My personal concerns with him going forward like he does is he always does it following a mistake.

I mean, he literally does. And he's interfered with by Buendia.
Why does one backheel take 4 villa players out of the game? And linked to that, why are Luiz and Coutinho holding hands instead of tracking their man? Although I imagine that the logic here is that Mings should be coming across marking Rodrigo right?
Why is Buendia interfering with Mings' job as a defender?
Why are both Konsa AND Cash with Klich? Why is Konsa so far off him?
You can't, with a straight face, say you don't understand why people say Mings has an agenda against him people watch the goal back and say it's on Mings. SO much else happens that's nothing to do with him. It's maybe 1% his fault.
There will always be several moments that lead up to a goal, but to say Mings can take 1% of blame is the stupidest thing I’ve read on here today.
Please look at Dan James and Mings positions, look at Mings focus, he is ball watching and should have done better against a much smaller player. He would have done better if he focused on his own man, he didn’t, so his man beat him. It’s really that simple. -

He tries to yeah but as I said if anyone thinks that they can jump cleanly for that while under pressure from behind and from a standing start, coupled with Buendia barrelling in just doesnt understand how the human body works and should stick to gaming.
I didn’t ask if he attempted to or wanted to, I asked if he jumped? The fact you can’t say yes, and instead you have to pretend you’re an expert in physics and anybody who opposes your opinion should stick to playing games, shows that you know he could have done much better

Anyone blaming Mings for the second and third goals last night needs to take a look at themselves. Either you have an agenda against the individual and are looking for any excuse to criticise him, or, and I think this may be the case for a lot of people, you just don't understand/have never played any kind of sport and should probably stick to the playstation/xbox if you for example think, the reaction time it takes for you to press the button on your controller to clear the ball off the line corresponds to an actual human reacting, finding his balance, setting himself and making a clearance off the line like many think that Mings should have done last night.
Do you think Mings jumped for that header against James?

Should have been sent off when Konsa did

So essentially you’re saying you’re making up a scenario in your head and pretending it’s reality?
Targett replaced with Digne, academy player brought into the first team as his new back up.
We sign one of the worlds best players in Coutinho who goes off injured tonight, academy player comes on to replace him.
Steven Gerrard has publicly admitted we want to sign Yves Bissouma, one of the most highly rated midfield players in the Premier League right now, we had a £35m bid rejected for him but are still interested. He turned 25 a few months ago btw. We also missed out on Rodrigo Bentancur, 24 years old, who we came close to getting but went to Spurs eventually in a deal that benefited Juventus more due to another outgoing player.
We are also signing young players left right and centre from other academies and even first teams, constantly improving our youth ranks. We have an abundance of academy talents doing absolute bits in the Championship and below.
So yeah, go on, please continue to enlighten us all about how we’ve completely changed our plans so Purslow and Gerrard can run off into the sunset and leave us in disarray.

Hope he enjoyed his trip to Dubai.
I’m sure he did. He also trained every day he was there at an elite training complex, his own “warm weather training break” per se.
McGinn had an off day today, he’s class and we know it.

I’ve still seen nobody explain why after every mistake he makes, he needs to all of a sudden try to become a centre forward. Guy gets too emotional and tries to become he-man, just focus on your job. I personally feel his emotions get to him whenever he knows he makes a mistake and that’s why he continues to make more, because he begins to act irrational. He’s allowed to make a mistake but whenever it happens it’s followed by him trying to become an attacker, he wants to make up for it, which is admirable but in a team sport just know your role and shut your mouth as The Rock once said.
FYI: Mings is trending on Twitter tonight for his bad performance - but yeah, big agenda. Agenda from all those people tweeting too 100%.
-
Worst game for us, but tbf I honestly think his first booking was due to him complaining to the ref at half time and in turn he had it in for him.

No agenda, none whatsoever....
2 direct mistakes = 2 goals conceded because of Mings.
I’m also sick of the way he makes a mistake and then tried to be a **** hero. Every. Single. Time. Just stick to your role and do it well, you’re a **** defender. Honestly the guy costs us so much, for all his “solid defending” he makes too many mistakes over and over again.

Lucas Digne
in Villa Talk
Posted
He definitely put some good crosses in that were unsuccessful, I think "successful" is a vague variable in regards to crosses as the success of them most of the time is down to the player on the receiving end.
Digne is really good at whipping them in, however we don't really have an aerial threat in the box and all of our players are relatively short, I think that is the part that baffles me about wanting to play this way.
