Ha! I would say most people probably don’t realize how much the owners are responsible for building a winning culture from the ground up. Wes is co-owner of the Bucks just like he’s partners with Sawiris. He keeps a pretty low profile, which is nice in ways, but I wonder if more could be done to cross-promote his clubs. In general it seems like an owner of an English club can have way more influence with financial investment than in American sports, but he’s clearly been doing something right with the Bucks. In his speech today he mentioned having a plan when they bought the Bucks seven years ago, and the championship was the culmination of that plan. He mentioned hiring the best back room staff, the best sports scientists, and front office to get here..this seems very much in line with what they’re trying to do at Villa too. Exciting times!

As VP of Milwaukee’s Villa fan club, I can confirm our Prez was waving a Villa flag at the Bucks’ celebration parade today. Wes and Mallory spotted him and got pretty excited. Represent!

Agreed. This match really showed how important it was to snag a player like Rashica in the summer. Hopefully we can pull him off or a similar type winger in January.

Long time lurker and Villa fan for the past 5 years here from Milwaukee (currently live blocks from the new Bucks arena). I’d say the jury’s still out if Wes has been a good owner. Yes, he’s building the new arena, but it’s mostly being financed by the taxpayers after he threatened to move the franchise out of Milwaukee. Everyone understands it’s not easy building a successful small town sports franchise though. Just my two cents. UTV
