  1. I probably have my expectations completely out of sync with reality but that 'performance' was just jaw-droppingly horrendous. Do we have any offensively minded coaches? Happy for old pal Bruce for his deserved point, that is how I sleep tonight.
  2. Not a lot to like. Criminally wasteful with posession. Why on earth do you try a long cross field ball when in full control of the ball half way up the pitch. I mean what is to gain from this?Piss poor decision making. Mings is too focused on man-handling Joelinton. Play the percentages and keep composure instead. And why, when winning a free kick with about 35 seconds to go do you not attempt to create a chance instread of wasting time and playing the ball into nowhere. The midfield trio does not work. All of them look to get the ball to feet. No runs to open up angels. Basic stuff.
  3. Well done to them. The midfield worked against Leeds because for the most part their job was to cover spaces and interrupt play. Against Sheff Utd, a completely different kind of game, our midfield trio looked lost and unbalanced. Mentally not ready for the game. Didn't deserve anything and got nothing.
  4. We got no game at all. Abysmal. McGoldrick is running the show. Very disappointed with this.
  5. Looks like all of them just want to go home and watch Netflix and eat popcorn.
  6. Horrible from us, solid game by them. We've improved massively since last season but it's evident we're still a work in progress. It was clear that Coufal's relentlessness was exactly the right tool to control and eventuelly demoralize Grealish. We needed some sparks from other players tonight but they were all (except Watkins) just very flat and second best.
  7. Move Grealish away from Koufal and take off AEG. I expect Smith to show some sort of tactical creativity now.
  8. A few crucial blips of concentration spoiled it for us and we got Burnleyed. Overall we were very good - again. Some of the passing in the first half was next level. We didn't have the right pieces on the bench tonight.
  9. Looking good, just need to keep the tempo up. Don't get the hate for Burnley - think a level of toughness is alright , it is and have to be a big part of their game and identity . From what I recall I think West Ham was worse.
  10. Need to stay focused and determined amid these frustrating losses. I thought we controlled the game and made them look very poor and sloppy. This is a positive. Keep working hard, keep your head up and move on.
  11. I think Smith was confused after the Leeds game and we looked like carrying that into the game. We handed them the initiative thinking we could control the game and break effectively on the counter - which we couldn't. Better second half where we played with more desperation and aggression.
  12. They are a cohesive and disciplined unit with a smart game plan. We seem confused as to what our game plan is other than giving the ball to Jack - and this has been a long going issue. I don't see any other player expressing themselves or trying to take responsibility for driving attacks. Also we seem to deal very poorly with going behind.
  13. Good: We win comfortably and two of our strikers boost their confidence. Nyland great. No injuries or suspensions. Not great: watching their youth team at times dominating open play, looking sharper, more cohesive, and more motivated.
  14. Worked hard and had the initiative for much of the second half, but we didn't have the quality in the final third to create a goal. They just cramp up a bit when it's business time. Important to get a positive performance and result in the next one.
  15. A blow, and you knew this would happen. Problem is so did our players.
  16. Should have been 3-3 so far. We need more goals if we want to win this.
  17. For large parts of that game Arsenal looked completely demoralised and very open at the back. Unfortunately we were very poor at crucial moments in the final third. There is no decisiveness about us for some reason - and it looks like we're waiting for the inevitable loss. Very concerning. I love the game, but some of the antics of these overpaid manbabies are just ridiculous to watch. Please roll on the NHL.
