Yep awful officiating and set the tone for second half where Olympiacos go do what they wanted.

I know it's sounds like sour grapes but I'm not overly bothered by the conference league. To me it's just extra games for the PL team that should be competing for top 4 but are handicapped by playing more games all over Europe with sub par officials and every team we come against get rest periods around the fixtures,  because their home leagues are poor and don't generate enough money.

To me UEFA seem to be using their competitions to compromise the Premier League, increasing the amount of competitions and the amount of games we have to play in them. Where do we draw the line, it's a super league by stealth.

Hopefully the fa cup gets to keep it's replays but I really do doubt the leaders of English footballs being capable of protecting our game against UEFA .

I agree with that. It wasn’t a corner but he to was trying to be too clever marshalling the ball. He also doesn’t close down quick enough either.

It's wasn't a corner, just unlucky with the ref with lots of decisions that tilt the game, seen it with Lille as well.

Doug great in possession and further up front, he more influence on the game when he pushed forward more. At times he was behind Konsa showing for the ball, he needs to push up more and offer an outlet for the defenders to pass to or at least compete for the knocks downs, lose balls. The problem is if the opposition play a highline and our defenders push up the whole playing area gets compressed and that leaves Doug and McGinn with no space to operate in without being harassed by the opposition, passes go astray and players lose possession.

Olympiacos are no mugs, dropped from the Europa league and beat West Ham in the group stages, however tonights game was a bit of a freak game and we were masters of our own downfall.

Macabi Haifa beat them 1-4 away in the last 16 and we're more than capable of beating them by at least 2 goals, won't be an easy game but we're still very much in it.

    Just need a decent ref

  4. We was poor, couldn't keep the ball, second to one on one's, wasted chances to break and they played well....

The ref showed his colours when he pulled us back from a breakaway chance because their player had fouled one of ours.  He never blew straight away he saw we was breaking with players over and blew up. He never even booked there player,  just had a word and gave us a free kick.

The refereeing has left a bad taste in my mouth over the last few games in this conference league bollox, I would rather play FA cup replays.

This again? It's really no coincidence we concede a lot of goals with this guy in goal. He saves nothing

Again, must concede 2 minimum on average with him in goal.

He's absolute dead weight. Club needs to look at the budgets for next season because if they can't find movement for a new No.2 we might aswell not qualify.

Emery has been here and Olsen has dumped us out of two competitions we had real hope of winning

Though the tie is not technically over..it'll be no thanks to him.

Not fans. Just horrible humans. They walk among us.

Wish people would repost it tbh, if i wanted to read that shite I know where to look.

  7. Didn't do anything wrong , the 4th goal was deflected off konsa. Penalty was Doug. Its nothing to do with hum why we lost, was was very poor, especially in the midfield.

I’m sure this will have been done before in some form but sainsbury local, stop being stupid. All I want it one packet of chocolate hobnobs. I am not going to download and install your app just to get in your shop. Absolute nonsense.

Yeah it's a very, very tough watch. Worth it though.

The shine has been taken off it a little bit by reading over the last couple of days about the harassment of people assumed to be the stalker and the tv producer. the stalker basically confirmed it was her after she was revealed, and Gadd has cleared the name of an individual rumoured to be the TV producer, but the name of someone considered very likely to be the real person is doing the rounds.

Now, the stalker isn't a great person, clearly, and nor is the real TV producer, but what we have here is a woman who clearly has some serious mental health problems being harassed online, a innocent man being harassed because he looks a bit like an actor in a show, and someone else who might be guilty being harassed, but who has never actually been convicted or even arrested.

When you look at just how little effort went in to disguising any of the real people involved, it does look like it may well have been left that way to deliberately stir it up for a bit of revenge.  There's evidence left out online in plain sight that's directly referenced in the show, so it took hours for people to figure out who these people were, and while I struggle to find *too* much sympathy for these people alleged to have done such awful things, it does seem a bit like Gadd has used the show to mobilise an internet witchhunt, whether deliberately or through naivety and negligence.

The guy went back for more from his alleged abuser, he also encouraged the stalker. He then monetised the whole story.

    Spoiler

Tbh the whole thing was frustrating, he was a willing participant in the drug charged sex binges, felt sorry for his girlfriend who he put at a huge risk by his promiscuous behaviour. The guys got strange sexual preferences, big deal, problem is he's thrown at least one person under the bus writing his story.

Assume it's just a joke but would a civilised country class us as such? If we're then going to send them on to Rwanda the Irish government would have to to through the same wormholes we did.

It's an open border anyway so I'm not sure what Ireland are going to do, escort them to the border and then let them walk back into Ireland?

Who knows.  As I said if they release new plans then I’ll believe it but I’m not there at the moment.  The club have said they aren’t moving away to a new stadium and we are restricted how much more we can increase the current ground by and the current proposal has been put on hold which also adds weight to my view.  If we could get 60k+ plus then the club wouldn’t have given up so easily the comment that we will not move from the site.

The club said no plans at that time , since then we have new shareholders,  believe, I do. It will change the club though from being a niche PL also ran into a club fighting on and off the pitch to compete. Some existing fans will not like it though, some people don't  like change, even if its for the club to get back to where it belongs.

They are a very good set of fans but it’s a one club city with very few teams around them. Also when they first got relegated out of the premier league a few years back they had regular crowds of less than 40k in a 52k ground. They were giving away  10k free tickets not so long ago to try and fill the ground in the prem . Demand up there for a good team does out do us though but we are apples and oranges in terms of the type of areas we are situated in. We leak more fans to other clubs because there more teams around us and the ethnic make up is far different to Newcastle which also adds to it.

It's population is 1/3 of birmingham's alone, add the rest of the West Midlands,  Shropshire,  Worcestershire to our catchment area and we have a huge catchment area. You can also add the HS2 route into London for the tourist fan. Newcastle have some great fans, there's no potential for growth, we have a huge potential in the premier league to become a leader.

Up until 5 years ago it was easy to get a season ticket, members of my family got one in the summer the season we got promoted by just speaking to the Villa and had many options to where there was available seating.

I get that we are doing well and football is immensely popular at the moment but I’m yet to be convinced that we have either 30,000 genuine season ticket waiting list people who would snap up a ticket if it was available now, maybe 10,000 tops or if they would be general sale that we would sell anywhere near 60k in the lower class premier league games especially midweek games.

if it is genuine then the club would build a new stadium or make the stadium redevelopment plans grander but given they haven’t at the moment, they may be thinking the same as me.  If in the summer they lay out grand plans then I will believe it but as of today I’m not convinced the consistent demand is there.

Well if you are right,  and i dont think you are,  mwe have hit our ceiling. As for the club thinking like that......have you seen our new shareholders and the type of expertise they have brought on board? I don't think they are here to add 3000 seats to an ageing stadium.

I wish they'd hurry up and tell us one way or another what's going on with the stadium. Unless adding 3000 extra seats is the only plan they have and they've already told us...

They will wait until the season is over. There not going to take anything away from our on pitch success, after that my guess is the flood gates Will open.

The area behind the North Stand is ripe for development.  Just take a look at what Spurs are planning in a predominantly suburban area.

I’ve been in the relocation is necessary  camp previously but Spurs have proven with their stadium which is in a deprived area location doesn’t matter with foresight.

I agree with what your saying but what Spurs have done and is planning to do isn't the book stop for sports stadium developments, there's more that can be done given the space.

  16. 60k is what we need long term, just to keep the prices down for the regular fans. If we stay at 42 or even 50 the prices Will rise and keep rising. If we get champions league then the rise in our profile will bring in more tourist type fans, once the HS2 is built the journey from London will be under an hour. Our potential is huge.

Spurs lose to Chelsea, Villa beat Brighton, Spurs lose to Liverpool… top 4 sorted by Monday…. Anyone else think this will happen?

Spurs, can't see them losing to Chelsea, they was good against us but still shipped 2 goals and it probably should have been 3 with ollies chance, Durans was more difficult. I hope I'm wrong. The rest is more likely.
