One thing's clear. We have seriously ambitious people in charge. I honestly think all bets are off in terms of the expertise we have that's why I am talking in terms of redeveloping Witton Lane or doing some sort of deal on property land. This isn't Doug Ellis, this is something of an entirely different level.

Its a new ground, question is where and how, could be Aston, Marston Green or Castle Vale, Minworth , BMH .

  2. He lives in your head, he lives in your head, emi Martin, he lives in your head.

FucX arsenal, sick of hearing about em, their just a plastic club, in a plastic stadium,  in a plastic city with red  letter day fans who support em for 85 minutes in every game or sit at home watching them on TV streamng their pathetic reactions to other world wide morons. 😘

  3. Paul off Facebook has a mate who runs the dog and doublet and he reckons Mary's (the barmaid) boyfriend,  the bricklayer, has seen plans for a new stadium at the side of BMH. With transport links into Kingsbury and Coleshill!

  4. I'm not even sure what he did wrong having watched the penalties about 4 times,  he shushed the crowd, wow. Send him off. Fact is, he's in everyone's heads especially the media who are about 80% Arsenal fans.

You haven't enjoyed us getting the semi finals and beating the likes of Ajax?

We play 2nd string sides in the LC up until the QF. As does everyone. But you prefer that?

Each to their own, but I don't.

I did enjoy it, but I'm not willing to sacrifice any of our lower league teams financially to help support the likes of Lille or Ajax financially and that's what playing games against us offers to both of them, money.

Compare Thursdays game with playing West brom, blues, Ipswich or whoever and having penalties and winning, I would enjoy that far more and so would their fans and they would make money out of it that enables them to survive and bring through players like Ollie.

Villa are custodians of football, we helped start it in this country and we should look to protect the grass roots of the game because that's our foundations and if we allow the likes of Pep and Arteta to destroy the financially support the lc and fa cup gives them then as far as I'm concerned we're setting fire to very building blocks just so the Arabs can win stuff.

You think playing Ajax, Olympiacos and Fiorentina is Micky Mouse compared to sending our reserves to play Barrow?

    Not a chance.

What's Barrow got to do with it, your talking about the worst teams in one competition and the best in others.

Let's just looks at where players like Ollie came from, teams that depend on the income generated from games in these competitions for years.

I love English football from top to bottom,  Tamworth to Arsenal (not city)

And tbh having watched that ref and the lille players moaning and rolling about, the fans. I'm just not interested in European football at that level, it's shite.

Sorry, not a fun or lighthearted follow up to this, but I just need somewhere to vent.

He was well enough to be discharged this week. Should have been a happy occasion of him finally getting to go home after 6 months in hospital, but his mum and dad have strung him along all week and then refused to have him back.

This afternoon we noticed it was a bit busy, way more staff on than usual. Then his social worker came onto the ward flanked by 4 security members who pinned him down when he didn't want to leave and gave them a bit of lip, the nurses closed the curtains on all of the bays, and we just heard him screaming like a wounded animal as they dragged him away to go to some kind of care facility. Ok he was being difficult and trying to not go with them, but the kid is 5 foot and about 50kg and what he's done wrong is be a kid with nowhere to go, but they had 4 blokes restraining him and dragging him out the door like he was some convicted criminal

They wouldn't even let us say goodbye to him. The place was pretty much deathly silent for the rest of the afternoon. I held it in on the ward, but **** me, I'm in bits tonight, it was absolutely barbaric. There's no punishment too severe for the scum that have abandoned him, I don't know how they can live with themselves tbh, how can you just abandon your kid.

The really heartbreaking thing is when it wasn't just raw screams of fear and anger, he was calling for his mum :(

    Ffs, I'm heartbroken.

  8. Not sure how scraping any English cup competition and replacing it with a European one is going to help English lower league teams, it clearly isn't.

European clubs want some of the English footballs money, a fair share and if it means stealing it away from our lower league teams then so be it.

For me the conference league is micky mouse compared to the league Cup and definitely the Fa cup. We need to protect our English football before UEFA destroy it right under the noses of our corn beef faced morons in charge.

Must admit, I do like Fonseca. Would be a good option for a Premier League team.

Seems like a good coach, watching his team and the way he defended them. I'm sure he's going to pop up somewhere soon tbh.

That is exactly my point. Those advocating a new build: if we have a billion sloshing around we could buy all those properties at a generous price and still wouldn't come near the cost of a new build.

Say one or more doesn't want to sell at any cost? Or hold a property as a ransom strip , a common practice , and its value is normally worked  as a percentage of the total development?

Could get really messy. We could move the ground across over time, say knock down one stand build the new stand back from the pitch then move the pitch across the season after.

Anything would take about 5 years and disruptive. My fear is they build more hospitality and sacrifice normal seating, which would also raise the price of these seats, supply and demand. This would maximise our income with minimal outlay and disruption. It's not good for us though,  we need a bigger ground.

Just started Ripley. Looks promising, particularly the b&w cinematography, which gives it a very 'period authentic' look.

Finished it, it was OK, huge plot hole for me that spoilt it.

In fairness to the ref(!), I watched it back this morning to check the circumstances of the booking. It was a goal kick that hadn't been taken, the ball was not in open play.

Fair game for defending the ref 👏

it was unnecessary....but I still think the big decisions, he come down on our side....The penalty claim, and the impeded goalkeeper.......i have seen things like that given against us.

They was taken out of his hands and went to var. Duran never got near their keeper,  it was their own player.

    It wasn't open play

It was in open play at his feet for about a minute, he picked the ball up and got a card straight away.

The ref lost it, how can anyone watch his performance and not see it?

Watch the game in the cold light of day and then pull Emi for gamesmanship and ignore what lille did and the ref allowed is very short sighted and basically follows Lille agenda and our media agenda against Emi.

Their players were asking for our players to booked from 5 minutes in, the ref ignored them, never booked them for it. There was countless fouls, pull backs that were just ignored.

As already stated in this thread, it appears suspensions do carry through but the yellow card count is wiped.

So he's not suspended, he picked up yellow cards not a suspension.

How can you get a yellow in open play for time wasting. Players take a ball to the corner flag all the time to deliberately waste time, is that bookable now. First yellow should be rescinded. Just a two bob ref trying to make a name for himself.

Shows the standard of commentary when they don't even notice it, the ref lost complete control, Lille tried to get the goal disallowed and the penalty. They re took a corner when their first attempt was hopeless.

Their second goal, lille player held onto Rogers and stopped him challenging for the ball, then they moaned about us doing the same in the first leg..

Glad we won and glad it's over but the display from them and the officials leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

Martinez just stood his ground against them,  they don't like it up em.

What a match, what a ride. That referee though, surely that's his career over. Just watched the shootout again and the bit where he goes up to Dougie as if to tell him to take it, and Dougie has to remind him he hasn't blown his whistle yet... absolutely farcical.

The ref walks towards the ball as Doug runs up to take his penalty as well, the shit housery was all from Lille and the ref, Martinez did nothing at all apart from dance.

  18. Refreshing to see a nations media (french) defending their team, despite their fans throwing stuff on the pitch at Martinez and throwing footballs on the pitch to disrupt Ollies penalty and the ref getting in Dougs face before his and him encroaching on the ball in Dougs run up. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour tbh yet Martinez is seen as the bad one.

Watch the penalties again, Lille were throwing every trick in the book to disrupt us.

The referee made me hanker for Mike Dean.  He was one of the worst I've ever seen, I don't think there was really a bad tackle in the whole match yet he was flashing cards around like a vegas dealer.

He even delayed our moment of joy after the save by putting his hand in the air and making everyone wait, wanting all the attention after if finished.  Absolute clown.

It was unbelievable tbh and it makes me question our desire to play in Europe and expose ourselves to these types of officials. Watched a bit of the West Ham game and he was very similar to our ref as well. Not quite as bad but ours was exceptionally bad.

No, I think he is banned unless we successfully appeal one of the cards.

So this doesn't count in your world?
