The coefficient crap has ruined a lot of fun of this season, our best season in nearly 30 years.

Beat Lille and people miserable Liverpool lost. Beat Arsenal away and people now sulking Dortmund won as a trophy is not as important as being an also ran in the Champions League

I think you’re overstating it. Most people don’t care that much about the whole coefficient thing and are delighted with the season. It just feels the opposite online and normally from the same few people.

  2. Totally get those that would rather have the conference over top 4 but it reminds me a bit of the Stanford Marshmallow experiment.

I’m happy to hold off celebrating a conference league for future success.

But we’ll do both anyway so it doesn’t matter.

It should be noted that Atairos is backed (massively) by Comcast, which owns NBC, which has the broadcast rights to the Premier League in the U.S., on a deal through 2027. This is a potentially huge aspect to all of this. Not only do they want the league to succeed as a "product", but they'll want to back their own horse (Villa) to challenge at the very top.

    Don’t they own Sky too?

I'd take either; the fan wanting a trophy and the logical side wanting the potential for greater growth in the CL.

Unfortunately, it's not a case of one of the other... It could be both, but I imagine the likelihood of it being neither is actually greater.

And that would be a devastating end to an incredible season. So close but so far.

Odds on fav for 4th and favourites for the conference  league yet the likelihood of neither is greater ?  I had to double check your username when I read this.

You and any other doubters can get a very tasty 7/4 on Spurs getting 4th. Might soften the blow.

They get paid? Then they buy new homes elsewhere. Perhaps on a site developed by NSWE

I get that, it just feels like something that will get a lot of opposition from somewhere. Especially if a lot of the local residents don’t own their properties.

I may be wrong about that though.

  6. He carries the team. People are saying he’s overhyped because of the penalties but take the penalties away and he’s still been Chelsea’s best player by a mile and looks quality every game.

Anyway back on topic. Ollie to grab a brace on Saturday.

Just reading last week and so far this week, it feels like some are suffering more than just banter to be honest

I think it’s just one windup merchant and others responding.

If people are getting stressed then I agree. They need to chill out. We’ve had an amazing season no matter what happens.

Politically solves a net zero conundrum.

Ladywood is about to undergo wholesale redevelopment. Aston and Nechells has to be on their radar.

The UK has the oldest, most inefficient housing stock in Europe and that just has to change.

What about local residents being displaced ?

It would open up the area below the expressway from the Aston Inn to the Aston Tavern with a route from Aston Station to a new fantasy ground.

Spurs are the obvious example, given they are to build residential towers, a hotel and extreme sports hub, college and offices in an area smaller than the hypothetical area I highlighted. Add in an imax and the small concert venue it would turn a run down suburban area into a thriving rejuvenated part of Birmingham which Brummies would want to visit outside of Villa games.

This would be great but what happens to all the current residents ? Politically feels like a non starter.

I pretty much was, being self critical.....just tried to drag a few more in for comfort.😆

Perhaps All was a bit much...sorry.

Nah only messing mate. We have all done it at some point. It definitely helps when there’s such a top manager and coaches working with these players.

Keeping on topic, well done to Tielemans. He’s clearly worked hard to get back to the levels he is capable of.

We are ALL guilty of premature judgement.

The ability to integrate in to the mechanism of a team, takes time.....and we are all too judgmental too soon.....because we feel obliged to be.

Just because we have been watching the game for years, we feel obliged to know......and I think it's prudent to say, not sure yet.

I could get annoyed with myself, for doing it. Many of us are impatient. I know I am, sadly.

Speak for yourself mate. Never wrote off a player so soon.

Expect Donk. He was shit from the off 🤣

Playing like this, away from home against a title challenger is just unthinkable

This is brilliant but if we did this at home the crowd get restless.

    Last 4 league games:

    Everton - Win
    Sheff Utd - Draw
    Man Utd - Win
    Burnley - Draw

If we play like we did at Arsenal, we'll blow them away.

Different dynamic. We will want to dominate the game from the off so will be more open and susceptible to the counter. There was way to much space given to them in the FA cup.
