I don't get how Ryan Reynolds gets to be rich, handsome, funny, married to Blake Lively, and own a football team that gets back-to-back promotions.

Robert Johnson sold his soul to the devil just to be a phenomenal blues artist: imagine how he feels toiling in hell as we speak knowing he negotiated a horrible deal. Reynolds will burn for eternity but he played a blinder.

Yep, there’s not many people I truly envy on this planet but Ryan Reynolds is definitely one of them.

Not much choice as Lenglet has been crap too. Move Konsa into the middle and Chsmbers at rb. I dont know.

I remember that experiment and it was horrendous (Legia away)

  3. Going to be a tough second leg but if we can carve out some set pieces I think we can score another one or two.

That being said, I can definitely see them scoring 2 or more too potentially so should be a good game for the neutral.

Emi was immense tonight, Watkins played well, everyone else was mostly hit and miss, we just don’t seem anywhere near as coherent as we were earlier in the season, though it cannot be understated how many key players we’re missing and the knock on effect of everyone else having to play so many more minutes.

  4. We look tired, probably as much mentally as physically, saturday will have taken a lot out of us, I think that was evident in watkins’ post match, ironically he’s the only one who seems to have a bit of zip and energy about him, maybe save for Rogers.

Luiz is frustrating me, he’s done some decent stuff but generally taking too many touches and not seeing the passes on around him, defensively we’re really not in good shape, the sooner we can get cash back the better all round with Konsa back in the middle.

Fingers crossed for a lead at the end of this one

People driving at a constant speed would definitely decrease  traffic issues. Heavy braking causes the majority of traffic jams

And numpties too busy checking their phones to realise they’ve dropped down to 50mph in the middle lane

I've a few responses here :) Should cruise control be a part of learning? Not for me, although I've no strong feelings on it either way.  It's a feature, and by no means essential to actually driving a car. Personally, I like to know what gadgets my car has at my disposal, so I'll go and seek it out and experiment. But that doesn't mean it needs to be on a state course to get a licence.

As for the second point about fewer traffic problems on motorways. Maybe I'm inferring incorrectly here that there's some element of added safety to cruise control? If that's not what you're saying then fair enough, I've picked you up wrong and you can stop reading. But if someone was saying that cruise control was in some way safer than not using cruise control then I would disagree with that. Cruise control, even to a tiny degree (and I'd argue it's not a tiny degree at all, but for argument's sake let's say a tiny degree...) requires an element of detachment by the driver from what is going on at their feet. That's kinda the point of cruise control. Leave it to the car. Now if something happens in front of you on the motorway requiring immediate action - as plenty of things in front of you often do on a motorway - then the driver who does not have cruise control on, is more engaged with their driving than the cruise control driver is. Even for a split second if it's to get your feet back into position or they're in position and need to find the pedals and apply them. For me, cruise control is less safe than not using it. After all, it's you doing less driving and having less control. Even in a miniscule way.

It was more from a view on traffic flow rather than safety, although a lot of modern cruise control is adaptive so it will regulate your speed based on what’s in front of you, to the point that it can and will aid a hard stop if needed, so there may be some support for it adding a degree of safety too.

Maybe a step too far having it as part of the leaning to drive process, as you say it’s a feature but it’s a bloody helpful one!

He's emblematic of the new breed of idiot-pundit, no longer employed for their experience or insight, but instead for their comedic value.

He is at once a crap pundit, a poor former player, an unpleasant human being and a symbol for the decaying standards in broadcasting and the lack of intelligent comment in public life.

I hope he bursts off the scene as soon as is humanly possible.

    Exactly this.

He’s the epitome of the ongoing and systematic dumbing-down of media to make it more appealing to an increasingly inattentive audience

  8. Could go any way today dependent on who we have fit and available, bothers me that they have Toney back (and Mbeumo I think), the wannabe zulu knobhead will be motivated today for sure.

If we can get a goal up early on I think we’ll be okay, if not I can see it being a struggle, we’ve started the last few home games sluggishly whereas earlier in the season we were winning games in the first 25 mins or so, hopefully we can get back to that kind of performance.

  9. I owned a Nottingham Forest shirt, the yellow one with the black detail on the chest from the late 90’s, only other English club shirt I’ve bought/owned and did so because my best mate in school at the time was randomly a Forest fan (we were in South Wales), also went to a few Forest matches with him and his old man, who incidentally ran the junior football team I played for and we had an annual game against ‘Notts Forest Reds’ which was some kind of club affiliated junior side at the time.

  10. I guess if we do get the extra champs lge place that’ll mean 8th getting Europa conf place, assuming Coventry don’t win the fa cup which I think we can safely say won’t happen, so it’s gonna be a real bun fight for 6th-8th by the look of things

  11. This is new levels of luck for an already incredibly lucky team, Chelsea should be 3 or 4 up and go in level. Seriously, how effing lucky can one club get, gifted a goal at 2-0 down, when was the last time we got gifted a goal like that?!

  12. Olsen did well, naff all he could have done about any of the goals and looked pretty comfortable on the ball.

Encouraging glimpses from Zaniolo, Rogers and of course Duran - who kept his cool and played largely disciplined, which is great because at least we know we can trust in him to deputise when needed.

Thought Konsa did well up against Grealish, just a shame we didn’t get in at half time 1-1 following such a basic error.

  13. Damn shame to concede such a stupid goal after what was generally a fine 45 mins.

Luiz giving the ball away and then the foul to tee up the free kick and Zaniolo being a coward cost us.

We definitely looked tired toward the end of the half, unsure we can sustain it for 90+ but we do look decent on the break, the ball for Diaby in behind Gvardiol is on all the time (well, in those fleeting moment we have the ball anyway)

I don't think they fear anything. They are in a rather strong position.

In the context of Israel vs Gaza, of course they’re in a strong position, ironically enough it’s David vs Goliath, though roles reversed.

In the wider context though I’m not so sure, if they put themselves into a situation where they lose the backing of the west and become isolated in the region then they could be in real trouble long term.

I'm just looking at it round by round. Last weekend we had the most difficult game, Spurs the easiest, Man Utd middle. We gained points on Man Utd.

This round we, again, have the most difficult, Spurs second and Man Utd easiest. Man Utd have to take opportunities like this if they are to make up the ground.

Basically, they have to win tonight

They’ll do well to do that, they’re playing tomorrow

  16. I’d look to start Zaniolo over Rogers, if indeed it’s a straight choice between the two. Rogers has shown some decent potential but the weakest aspect of his game appears to be defending, Zaniolo might be able to apply a little more experience and maturity (might).

Missing McGinn and Kamara will make a significant difference versus the home game earlier in the season I think, so I guess we’ll have to approach it differently.
