MF, tell me. Why do we get 28,000 for games against Blackburn & Pompey, yet we always get 40,000 for Arsenal, Man Utd & Liverpool, regardless of our position & form. Answer this adequately, then I'll change my opinion.

Explain to me in how one recent season, 28,000 went to see us play Blackburn, then 40,000 went to see us play Arsenal? Of course not all 40,000 go to see the opposition, as a lot of them fans will be season ticket holders, who don't buy a season ticket just for the Arsenal, but a fair few thousand will pick & choose games depending on the opposition. Your poll's shit, btw. You don't need to ask people why & when they go to games, you need to ask if people believe that some fans go to see the opposition as much as Villa.

Who`s your favourite player? It doesn`t have to be the best player, just somebody that you like. I know I will be on my own, but my favourite player is.......Lee Hendrie! He isn`t our best player & he can be an idiot off the pitch, but I admire his passion for the Villa. He celebrates his goals like most Villa fans would. Darius could learn alot from Hendrie.

Owen. Proven international goalscorer. He will be out to prove the critics wrong & as euro 2004 proved, his partnership with Rooney works really well. (He set up 2 or 3 goals for him I think) If Beattie isn`t good enough, then Smith & Vassell definitely aren`t.

We should play like this... Man mark Henry. Kick & wind them up. Henry, Pires, Vieira & Ljunberg are all petulant pricks. Pick Berson, Hendrie & McCann. McCann & Berson can kick them & Hendrie can wind them up. Play long ball. We haven`t got a chance of out passing them, so hoof it up to Cole & hope he decides to be a "lion" on the day. That should keep it down to 3 - 0

All home games & the away game against Albion on sky. It isn`t looking good for 4th place. Newcastle are the riding the crest of a new manager wave & Liverpool are riding the crest of some quality spanish players wave. I think Liverpool are looking a bit too good for us to get 4th place. (And if you dig up my article I did say Liverpool would be hard to catch) As for the rest, nothing between us, we all need our key players to perform & if they don`t we all look average. Everton in 3rd place says it all really. If we can stay within a few points once we hit our purple patch we will be up there. The arrival of Beattie (Fingers crosses/straws clutched) in January would give us a real boost & an extra goal threat. I would call it an average start, we have picked up points where I wouldn`t have expected to (Newcastle because of our awful record against them) & then dropped them against teams I wouldn`t have expected to (Palace, because of their awful team).

bromsgrove_avfc, how is Hendrie more deserving of that list than Mellberg? How can Hendrie be our weak link? Mellberg has cost us 3 goals, you should really put a list together based on this seasons performances not by their reputations. Hendrie turned the game around against Newcastle, got an assist against QPR & then scored our only goal against Palace....is that the form a weak link? NB: I`m not saying Mellberg is our weak link, but he has been more of a weak link than scapegoat Hendrie.

Hendrie is in the list, but Mellberg isn`t? Oh yes, because it was Mellberg that curled it into the top corner yesterday & it was Hendrie that cost us goals against QPR, Palace & Charlton. :roll: Samuel, UDLC? Good to see Mellberg in the lead. I think he is our best player by quite a way. Not only is he a goalscorer, the captain & the rock at the back, but he is also the hardman. Not a media labelled one like Savage, he is a genuine hardman. As Tom said he is good enough for any team in this league.

Forssell has scored lots of goals in ONE season. Hasselbaink has never proved that he can score goals for a team outside of the top 4. Viduka scores around the same amount of goals as Beattie. I think "that bit" is right.
