So have them on the bench here and schedule the second friendly at a different time. Very poor to have two games at the same time with a squad that's not big enough for it. We only have 2 first team keepers and 3 first team CBs for Christ sake
alright calm down, they are obviously making up for the forest game. You can't go around worrying about injuries that might come. you need to get the players fit

great to see the kids coming in and doing well

Great work everyone. 3 CBs spread across 2 friendlies after selling our 4th choice centre-half and now 1 is injured. Brilliant stuff.
they need minutes

nice ball in by Ollie, left foot too

Glad I didn't spend a **** penny on this atrocious AVTV preseason package tbh. What a joke.
can't see a problem with this, they are playing Bristol. do you want to see all the others on the bench??

Would SJM be moved to an attacking midfield role without Grealish I wonder? He's been quite successful in a more advanced role with Scotland, chipping in with a lot of goals last season
he is box to box for me, and very good at it.

Pains me to say it but in the current market 100M doesn’t get you too much (2 x Ben White), unless we shop in Aldi, I mean France.
5x Wesley

Exactly. If they offered us £90m + Bernardo Silva then maybe we'd have something close to equitable.
80 mill and sterling and Foden.

Including this here in this thread because it involves a link to a potential incoming player in Morgan Rogers. Former West Brom youth player, primarily a winger, who moved to City for quite a large fee for a youth player. Has been linked with a move to Crystal Palace this summer.
I don’t want any of their players. We tried that before when we sold Milner and got Ireland. He was rubbish and no where near good enough.

Top 6 quality?
He has been good for us but he shouldn't be undroppable for a team that has aspirations to be in the top 6. He had numerous avergae games last season and was anonymous quite a few times as well. YOu could blame that on Dean for not cementing an actual position for him but i know one thing for sure, that floating role he generally plays in wont work if we intend to play with Jack, Buendia, Traore, or Bailey next year. A midfield two of Mcginn and Luiz would get overrun every game against any top 10 team with the rest of the midfield being so attack minded and i can't see us pushing on for top 10 while that is a our midfield two personally.
Dan , I agree with some of what you are saying. But I think the player himself is quality. I’m not a D Luiz fan at all, and I feel McGinn does a lot of his job too. Which affects his own performance. And I feel he needs to be rested occasionally. A new partner for him and a rest now and again would improve his percormances. But he is a quality player.

So if city offer him £300k villa need to match it? No way would be be paying him that - it would be madness and imagine the disparity In wages amongst the squad - we do not have the income of city - by all means offer him a new deal but let’s be honest we cannot match whatever city can pay him ,and nor do we need to do so , he still has 4 years left on his deal
Look I don’t know the finances of the club. But if we can buy a player for 40 million pound and offer him a top wage then we can pay Jack a top wage.
-
I think it is fair that Jack talks to City. Just to see what they are offering. Villa need to match it.

I think people would be pleasantly surprised at how good Will Hughes is. I bet he'd turn out to be better than McGinn and Sanson.
You are right a good player

Nakamba only def mid at the club. Luiz and McGinn are #8s playing in double pivot
Like Rice and Phillips

Did we? Who? We signed Cash Watkins Martinez Traore Sanson last year. None of those are def mids. Sanson certainly isn't
Ah yes you are right, it was the year before.

Can’t see a def mid coming in as we signed two last year.

One thing I don’t think Deano will do is create a bomb squad. They will wait for Wesley to come good , move on , or run contract down.

the distribution from the goalie has been awful
-
the team looked like they treated that half as if it was a friendly

didn't really see any overlapping from the full backs in that half which was a little surprising. plenty of long balls attempts in behind

This is a good point: teams such as ourselves and particularly Everton are guilty of trying to break into the top six by buying players who were considered not good enough by top six clubs. If Daniel James is good enough to push us up to compete with the top six then united would be playing him week in week out.
This isn’t the way it works. Lingaard, James, Smalling etc would all strengthen us.
Man U weee close to throwing Shaw away too.
These are good players.
