  1. Allardyce is claiming that Diouf didn't deserve to be sent off. Urm, wtf!

Yah, I saw that and well from where I was sitting which was the lower part of upper holte it appeared he gave Beye a right clattering. Beye didnt look hurt but so what it was proper dangerous play and could have been a lot worse, you have to be punished for dangerous play like that.

One thing I was wondering though, was Beye trying to convince the referee not to send him off?!?

  2. Was a good game really, seen it through a strange pair of eyes as I wasnt drunkered, still hanging from new years

First half we were full of praises, good to see the lads running about and seeing new boy delph having a good game. Ashley young was looking somewhere back to his good self, chasing down and creating rather than diving and moaning.

THem going down to 10 men seemed to spur them on, they appeared to be putting up a much tougher fight but we held our nerve and got the result.

Was great to see us save that pen that didnt seem from where I was sitting a pen in a million years. My mate was convinced he would save it, I had other doubts but I'm glad he was right :)

  3. On the first train to birmingham from scotland this morning, was out at works do last night. Really up for this game, apparently were giving the taggart suite a try.

Be my first chance to see the new setup in the flesh, had to give my season ticket away to the last home game as I was on my way to spain.

  4. There was a lot to compare with the Bolton game in this match. It seemed to go the same way, we scored early then I was always worrying that if we dont score another soon that Bolton were gonna manage to get something back. It was a 2nd goal that didnt look like it was coming for some time but we managed to get one more before half time and we battered them in after that, but Bolton were shit.

For the spurs game we did something very similar with the early goal and needed that second that never looked like it was coming. Unforunately, unlike Bolton, Spurs were far from shit and we had no answer to it.

  5. First of all petrov was easily the best of our central midfielders.

Absolutely, was saying it through the game and all the fans around me in holte were agreeing 100%. He put in some great efforts, breaking up attacks and pushing some forward. HE made one mistake in one of his passes that was a bit dangerous but nothing compared to what he did right.

Whilst the rest of the team sat back watching the ball, he was the only one to make a forward lunge and try to put in a tackle. Did brilliantly on 7 mins to break up a spurs attack, put himself infront of the ball and ended up on the floor after clearing it. I feel that attack woudl have been a goal for spuds.

Cuellar was awesome, simply awesome yesterday. Others of note were beye and Gabby, felt sorry for Gabby at times as he was always having to try to get back in defence where defoe and croach had all the options to stay up front no problem.

  6. 1st half was the worst we've played this season. 2nd was much, much better...

The later stages at that, I was at the game and I remember us not having a single shot on target for like 60mins or so. WE had one shot which was offside anyway so I dont count that.

Poor, very poor, Petrov a cut above the best player on the pitch. Was gutted when heskey came on as I like to think of him as "the towel", but I eat my words and thank **** he did come on.

  7. had my ticket and travel sorted for sometime on this, anyone fancy a meetup in and around the area just lay out details here.

I'll find out what pub our supporters club is drinking in, they normally get wind of where all the other supporters clubs are meeting up with for away games.

  8. So i guess 2nd half we were good too right? I saw the first half and I was just smiling all the time as I felt it was going really well, great performance.

My mate got kicked out of the ground just on half time for standing up, I didnt want to leave him waiting outside on his own for the coach so went out and thought I would see it on TV in a pub but noooo.

Was a great day out and fantastic to see a hammering being dished out from our boys.

  9. Heskey threw a tantrum and threatened to leave if he didn't start playing. Is it my imagination or has he played just about every game since?

And if it was certain other players doing the same fit, they would probably never play again.

I dont know why we insist on playing out of form shit players when theres people itching to get a bite.

I wonder if Mon has has team picked already for the rest of the season?

  10. Just thought I would interject here, IMO you hear a lot more people wanting Mon to go down at the actual ground than you read on this forum. Obviously its hard for me to gauge an accurate opinion of a ground that holds over 40,000 people, however I'm never too far from a group of strong opinions and you dont hear much good said about him.

I'm sure its more alcohol fuelled than anything mind.

  11. Stay - and our fans, like those of our rivlas, will have to accept we will never win the league whilst money rules and we do not have a mega-rich owner.

I am not suggesting Randy should leave either, just fans have realistic expectations rather than harp on about winning the league and European Cup thirty years ago. A fine achievement to remember and celebrate nevertheless.

Oh right, never knew that was written in stone. I think I'll just hand my season ticket back in as there seems to be no point in going as theres no hope for us anyway.

  12. I'm willing to stick with MON for now, I really do think he can take us even higher than where we are now, but when we do get up there with the big boys, will MON be good enough for us?

I agree with a lot of what you say, its all those things that i have gripes with too.

The answer to this question though is a case of as long as he adapts to the new situations of going for top honours. To find that out we havge to give time, so thats where I draw my "stay" from, for now.

I hope he does, I mean you wont find a more passionate manager, its great to watch him. Sort out his other quirks and we'll be onto a winner.

  13. Keep him until Rafa becomes available...

haha, i might have missed something, but that was a joke...right?

I'm over the moon with our current sucesses we are well over achieving what I thought. Many things I'm quite disgruntled with about Mon but hes constantly prooving me wrong lately which is fantastic.

On the poll I am for stay, against all odds its the one thing I have maintained as I still thing he should be given more time and the age old argument I use for all of these questions is you only have to look at the clubs that achieve most, how long there managers have been at the club and given for success.

P.S. On the playing players out of position, that is my greatest bugbear with Mon, he does this so badly its crucifying at times. One thing he must change.

  14. Was disappointed to find ourselves a goal behind

I was obviously gutted about it at the time but unlike other times I wasnt disappointed per say, or not disappointed with the team. My heart hadnt dropped as I thought we were fantastic up until then.

Estatic that we won and i thought we thoroughly deserved it, playing against a cheating ref and we were brilliant. Thats what I like to see from the boys and thats what makes me proud to be a villa fan.

We really wanted it today, and it showed. It was just one of those performances had we even lost I would have still been proud, winning was a bonus. Great day :)

  15. Good game all in all, took 2 points off them but dropped 2 ourselves. Was wicked to see Barry get Dunne (ba-bam-tish).

I really think some better tactics could have nicked the game in our favour, bringing on Heskey is not the kind of tactic I'm talking about. Man that guy is a useless donkey, did he just drop to the floor again at one point when he had a great ball into him which he could of scored from. I'm sure it was him but I couldnt quite see.

Gutted I didnt make the game, pony that work was busy I couldnt really get the time off (and work is in Scotland) and someone else got to make use of my beloved season ticket.

  16. That penalty was frustrating, its not clear cut in my mind but I lean towards the `it being right decision` camp.

It looked possible he had denied a goal scoring opportunity with his hands, I know it looked like it was ball to hand and its only a natural reaction to protect yourself if your about to get kicked in the face. However the fact remains you cant put your hands up like that and have a ball go against it, especially not in the box and especially not to stop a ball that could possibly be going on target.

Its a shitter for dunne, I hope he doesnt feel to bad though as I dont think theres much else he could have dunne about it (like what I did there, never get old for me!).
