  1. I was initially one for giving Ged a chance due to injuries etc. but the last month or so, when many of the injuries have been sorted, show that he does not have a clue how to set up a PL team in modern times.

    - Collins has been terrible but retains his place.

    - I can see his rationale for dropping Warnock but dropping him completely from the squad? How is that going to help him get his confidence back.

    - Petrov and NRC are not a CM pairing - there is no creativity and a massive gap between the CM and strikers. They can potentially play in a three with an attacking CM'er but the only one of those that we have is SI and he doesn't want to give him a shot.

    - Petrov staying on after 60 minutes ..... Please.

    - DJ on the right when we are playing a right footed player on the left!

    - Gabby as a LW?

    - Ash cannot play in the hole. He works his butt off and I love him for that effort but he has no impact. The only time he affected the game at all last night was when he found himself out wide and got a good cross in.

    - No subs last night until the 88th minute and the formation we ended up with?? Reminiscent of the MON Barry to left back bring on another forward and have no midfield. Crazy!

Most points I agree with, maybe debate the petrov and coker points as I think the biggest problem lies with having the flanks setup correctly which youve pointed out anyway.

Though on the giving a chance I was definitely shouting that he needs time, he needs a window and a preseason...though I also said we needed to avoid relegation. Currently I'm not so sure about avoiding relegation under this manager, and the few games of good play such as the manu game where I could see what he was trying to do have escaped me of late.

Now I just cannot see what hes trying to do and I just dont know what to think. In honesty the jury is still out but the tide is turning for me.

  2. Last night on the hour it was obvious something needed to be changed, we needed to make a few subs.

Heard Hou saying somewhere he was just about to make some subs when Heskey got sent off, so of course he couldn't make them any more.

As usual, it seems it was someone else's fault, NOT Hou's...

Well hes a liar, I can lip read and he was muttering something about what his mom had made him for dinner when he gets home. DOL used to say the same things actually...

...On a serious note, I'm not usually for sacking as long term managers prove time and time to be the best but as bad as it looks we have a real opertunity to finish 6th or maybe even 5th from where we are as there is only a few points in it. We just need something that can start getting us those few points and we need it now.

  3. Yes, there seemed to be some things awry last night, I agree. But last Sunday everything was pretty good, wasn't it (apart from conceding the 2 goals in the last 10 mins of proper time)? GH seemed to have that one about right, and I would hope he learns from last night's slips.

From a managerial perspective things wernt all that at Chelsea either, same as last night we were missing subsitutions at the right time.

At Chelsea we should have made a few changes to match theres when we went 2-1 up, they made a few subs and started to come get into a rythem and come at us and unfortunately we couldnt fend it off long enough. We shoudlnt be fending it off though, we should be breaking up the play they were building with some new fresh legs and I believe we threw away 3 points due to lack of subs.

Last night on the hour it was obvious something needed to be changed, we needed to make a few subs. Gabby looked as if he needed to come off and downing wasnt looking very effective either. Our crosses wernt looking very good and IMO our current best crosser right now is a one Marc Albrighton who should have come on far earlier. Houllier not making changes reminds me of Mon and that used to frustrate me greatly, I can accept/excuse a lot of things but bad tactical decisions blow it for me.

It wasnt working last night and if he had changed things earlier it could have changed the dynamic. Indirectly it could have prevented heskey from getting set off as a new rythem can quickly change the mood of a player and maybe it wouldnt have errupted like it did.

  4. To be fair to these comments by GH. Right up until Heskey getting sent off people WERE chanting Houllier's name and chanting 'Houlliers Claret Army'. Heskey gets sent off, beardsley gets a goal and within 5 minutes the same fans were chanting 'Sacked in the Morning'.

It was understandable of him to think if we won the game the Houlliers Claret Army chants would have continued.

For the record, I was going to post exactly this...

  5. I can back plenty of things but when you see bad tactical decisions I just cant get it.

Its something that I complained about with Mon and something that seems to be following with Houllier...lack of subsitutions at the right time. We should have made a sub before heskey got sent off, could have changed the whole dynamic of the game.

  6. Certainly looked like the players were behind the manager today. My point would be certainly that we sholud have been looking at changes with 15-20 minutes to go, freshen things up and stop chelsea getting into the mini stride they did which cost us 2 points.

Sitting back on that lead like we did and hoping to soak up all the pressure was a bad mistake, but still it was great to see the team performing for the manager today. Houllier obviously waved a bit of a magic wand today.

  7. O'Neil is mostly to blaime for the situation we find ourselves in now, he took a big fat poo from a great height right on our club.

Though since his departure our players / new manager havnt done us any favours in making things better as yet. I thought I saw signs how things had potential to improve but right now I'm a little dumbfounded.

  8. Great result.

Such a massive difference from the Liverpool game, the whole team improved dramastically. We saw fight and determination and it paid off, overall we deserved the win too...bonus!

Hard to say man of the match, maybe ashley young because he really put a shift in which is against some of his recent performances. He took on the captaincy and played excellently.

  9. Normally a houllier supporter as I can normally see the positives and understand the style we are trying to play and look to the long term future.

However I'm feeling a little fickle tonight as I couldnt see the positives. With a load of palace fans who are normally quite neutral and dont rib me, but even they were giving me the shocked look. Shit Liverpool side and nothing positive about our fight (lack of) back.

Appauling decision by houllier to keep cuellar out of the team, what is it he is seeing that nobody else in the world is about that situation.
