  1. Still **** off.

Just got home and yeah I'm still **** off also...very indeed.

Feel like I'm having a Mr. Fickle PMT style skitzo fit, so thrilled at exceeding my expecations with a good run and then this. Like my car was going 100mph and into a brick wall, I was so up for today.

I really shouldnt be this down about 1 loss but its the way in which we lost, tactically we didnt have to lose today but we went from bad through bad tactics to shocking through shocking tactics.

Heskey is a big lump of uselessness. It's these kind of things that will cost us crucial games, Mon needs to get over himself and his little ego troubles and do whats right for the Villa not whats right for him.

Coker should have come on today, even craig gardener would have been a much better sub...but for someone like carew who was having a shit game.

  2. Well that was a little disappointing wasn't it ?

t'rovers down to 10 men, Delph on a yellow, Carew a little lack lustre, oh I know let's make our midfield even weaker just to make it an even entertaining game

MON rating =

Even with only 10 men there was only one team that looked like they believed they could win and it wasn't us.

  3. His pride got the better of him today.

No it got the better of villa, villa > mon and he needs to realist that. This nonsense with coker is mental we were desperate for someone like him today.

Apart from score on his debut what has pesky the girrafe/donkey with the 50p head done for villa that warrants his place in the team. 85 mins of dross that got worse after the worst sub ever.

Tacticals lost us the game today fact, I wouldn't normally get so upset after a good run but its the manner in which we lost a game we should have won.

  4. MAn, I'm up I'm up, damn why do I put myself through this. I dont even get up this early to go to work! Well I'm ready and looking forward to today :)

ANyway, I'm gonna be around the area so if anyone fancies saying hello, just look out for me (guy on the left) :-

Dont be afraid to say "hey are you Neil from VT" I dont bite ;p

  5. Its almost impossible to answer this straight forward.

Was it a good transfer window in terms of bringing in quality players to improve our team and push forward for a higher place in the leauge? Absolutely not IMO, from that respect its border line disaster. At best we have an injured bit of quality in downing and a prospect in delph. The others are by and large so-so samey to what we already have.

Have we solved the issues of not having enough players once we get injury? Yes, this makes it a good transfer window for that respect. There are possibilities now to put some of our younger players who could be good under pressure to step up and perform which we havnt had before.

I draw my positives from other things, the last two performances are demonstrating that we arnt quite over yet and shows signs of players from our current squad upping there game.

I'm quite happy to see what Martin does now, if he sharpens up on a few of my pet hates about him such as tactics and changes. If he starts playing those who are in form and giving some bench time to those who arnt playing well (something we are looking like we can afford to do as a result of this window - another positive) then there are certainly things to be happy about.

My point is this window is very bad and very good for different reasons but there are signs that contrary to what I was sure of before the window, the window isnt the be all and end all.

  6. Seems we got a lot of green rubbed tonight, I mean an own goal and a penalty (though I hear that was nailed on). Stats all against us, friends tell me liverpool were the better team for most of the game (which the facts reflect) though unfortunately I couldnt see the game as I was on a place at the time...

...but who cares, I'll take me some of that, these are the ways in which top sides win away games generally.

All I want is for villa to be winning and tonight they did just that, I want something to lift the boys and not make them feel they are stuck in a rut. Put them on the up going into the game against that horrible other team of the fine city of birminigham.

Its far from papered over the cracks, 2 in 17 is still in the back of my mind and all the problems of the transfers but that doesnt stop me celebrating like hell a good win for the boys, after all we just want villa to be winning games right? :)

  7. Its not just me either. The common view from %90 of the fans around me and in the pubs after, was that Martins lost the plot. Now im sure there will be some lick martins shit lemming brigade will say thats not true, and if so, then all i can say is that they never went to the game.

Yep, the results of this thread barely seem to reflect the views felt in the atmosphere around villa park yesterday. Was really cold and a lot of angry people, wasnt a nice place to be really :(

  8. He would have made a difference yesterday. Someone to put a foot on the ball and string some passes together. Not that I want him back though still.

Nah, one thing he never did as a captain was bring back into play a team that was doing badly. Only ever effective if the rest of the team were doing well.

  9. everton have not won only 2 games in 18,sure they are the team we handed a 10 point lead to..**** shocking from our team and manager..

This was giong to be similarly my point, our problem is its no different to the disasterous end to last season. Same players, same problems, same result.

If we had been doing brightly in our last games end of last season I would take yesterdays defeat as a blip/slip up. I wouldnt be happy to lose, but I would feel we can just kick on and it wouldnt be such a problem in the grand scheme of things.

Its just the fact we are continuing exactly where we left off, which is a really bad thing. I had a pesamistic view of this season if we hadnt made some substantial changes, I went to the game yesterday hoping we would do a lot better than I suspected we might. We did worse and it really upset me to see it man, I'm desperate to be proven wrong!

  10. One game, you idiot.

You sure you're a Villa fan?

I dont believe in the not buying season ticket thing, and im not on the boo boys or mon out camp right now....very close I must say.

However, this is not one game, it is a continuation of where we left off on a poor form spiral down. Someone quoted me 2 wins in 16....

  11. I would keep MON for this season because I don't think we will be in too much danager of going down and I feel the distabilising factor of replacing a manager at this time would outweigh the possible positives of seeing him go. Next summer, however, I would look into trying to find a manager who could possibly take us that step further.

Thats probalby where I am at, maybe even put some pressure on him with warnings to deliver and told to buy players and set achievement targets for the end of this season.

No point in upsetting things now, could be a total collapse. If he doesnt do well this season then yeah he should go.

  12. By my calculations we COULDA won 5-4, we shoulda won 5-0, but no, we lost 0-2. Such is football.

This is a joke init surely? We were tripe today, nothing short and a shit wigan side panned us.

They looked shit, we looked shitter and we got everything we deserved from that game.

  13. Not in the mon out camp but would replace him for a few specifc names at the drop of a hat. For the most part hes the best we can get, not any better available.

Hes lost a lot of his fans this season though I Can tell you, massive booing at half time, massive booing at full time and I've not seen villa part empty like that way before full time in a long long time.
