  1. a few people will shout something from the safety of the upper holte and give a few V signs but all in all it'll pass without trouble.

Guitly, im double hard from up there

But agree with everything else you put, I've been to loads of away games and loads of home games including blues away/home, stoke and all the places you might expect "trouble". I've not once got into any kind of violent trouble and I expect it to stay that way as you really have to go looking for it.

  2. I would sack your missus if I were you Neil haha :winkold:

I know, shes rubbish. After hearing how villa played i wanted to sit back and watch the whole thing through when I got in, but alas!

I did get to see the goals in the end though as she taped match of the day, still a sacking is certainly on the cards lol!

  3. So to summarise, did we really play as good through the whole 90 minutes as we did in the last 30 minutes? Unforunately I only got to see the last 30 minutes and whilst we didnt score, some of the football being played almost brought a little tear to my eye :P

The crowd looked good, the atmosphere sounded buzzing. Those that went, was a it a good atmostphere throughout? Loved the subs so that the lads could get there ovations, and what lovely ovations they were...definite tear invoking moments :)

Damn, what a good weekend. Shame I had to give my ticket away to go to a mates birthday bash!

  4. The kit looked ok before kick off, i think anything would look a bit droopy after

    that downpour.

Honestly thats a really good point, I really dont like the kit but I should reserve my critism a little because my girlfriend only taped the last 30 minutes of football first so I didnt see the kit at first...neither did I see any goals haha.

  5. for the record thought the kit looked wicked today :)

I think it looks horrible, seeing it on the players it looked even worse.

I thought the fit looks really bad, doesnt sit around the players collars / neck that well, a bit droopy.

  6. Odds are calculated with many factors, the biggest being the calculated return/risk to the bookie...so the more people bet on that winning the lower the odds are made.

When you get news papers reporting someone like Sven who's agent when asked says "he would take the villa job" then this makes the news and people believe that to be the next manager. Based on those quotes only I have been ribbed by untold amounts of poeple that he is giong to be our next manager.

The point I'm making is take odds with a pinch of salt, purely that article that says nothing about Sven being our next manager other than he would take the job if it was offered. An article like this is going to massively change the odds as many people will take a punt on betting hes the next manager, it says nothing about the fact AVFC havnt even hinted on they maybe even considering to offer the job to Sven.

  7. martin jol, martin jol, martin jol.

Said for the past couple of seasons he would be my man to take over from Mon, I really would like to see him down at the Villa.

I think we have the ideal team for someone like Jol to manage, he will always give the new talent a try if they are proving there worth. A very fair and good manager.

  8. England for me, I would take england winning the world cup ahead of villa winning champions league or prem.

England winning the world cup is something I dream of happening in my lifetime. That day will be a glorious day for England, and will go down in history, something bigger than Villa winning something.

  9. I believe, in this situation, it will be entirely up to mon/randy if he stays or goes.

I dont believe for a second that milner is anything like barry and will not try to force the arm, or even hint that he would rather go to city. I recon he will be happy with whatever Mon says, so Mon better say **** No!

Luckily Mon is no push over either.

  10. "As Tony Pulis said in this morning's papers, bigger teams get more of the big decisions" - Alex McLeish

Bigger Teams is the only thing he got right :P

Some horrifying football in the 2nd half but who cares, derby games are different and I'll take any win. Infact it was almost the perfect way to win as the scum will be gutted, haha.

Mate told me that in all of the history between villa vs blues, 6 on the spin is a new record?

  11. Got to agree on the facilities, the chicken and chips at £8.50 was awful and took an age to get served by people that couldnt speak english (according to my mate, he actually queued and got the food whilst I fethced the programs). It is an over-rated ground with no preparation for transporting or facilitating its capacity of football fans, no bad traffic on the later A40 or M40 so couldnt understand why it took 3hrs to away from Wembley.

The food at villa park is a cut above and its hardly top notch! Considering the ground has twice the capacity it seems to have 3/4 times the problems you might bemoan at VP. For a ground of its stature in an area used to transporting more people every day than in all of Scotland it seems bad that 80k people get stuck so badly.

Though I must say I didnt really give a shit about the state of affairs at the time, that was the last thing on my mind as it was all about Villa and its fans and that was near on perfect right up until the final whistle. Great experience and great performane from the fans.

Hopefully the one thing to come out of this now is final experience for the lads, we dont seem to have a team who were prepared for the big occasion. Unlikely people making out of sorts mistakes can definitely be attributed to nerves / pressure.

We will hopefully have a team that will see the error of their ways in terms of going about the occasion and be stronger for the next one, right some wrongs and all that :)

  12. By the way, to those who went, was it a good day?

My mate just described it as one of the most amazing days yet we lost so I find it hard to understand that statement.

Awesome day / weekend, apart from losing.

If we had won today it would have been the best weekend of my life because absolutely everything else was bang on. The atmosphere created by the Villa crowds around and in silver spoons had me welling up.

  13. Sidwell must be hacked off with Delfonz for stopping his "goal". Delph got better as game went on.

AHh yes, forgot all about htat. I know I had come away thinking about the chances we missed and when you look at the score it was actually not as close as you might think due to those chances.

That goal being one of them!

Why was Guzan looking out of sorts?

Geniune question, I was there, the first goal was hard to see but the second one, he had no chance. (was right behind it)

Apart from that, he had little to do and what he did do, was tidy.

Yeah, I actually thought the same as he was getting slated on our coach home. I know he's had some shaky games 1st and 2nd leg against Blackburn but that 2nd goal if I remember we allowed someone to run around in our box almost unmarked and nothing the keeper could do. Maybe command the box a bit more?

Seems to me a few people are only remembering him for the few shaky games he has had, though today he didnt actually have to do a lot but at the same time didnt do much wrong.

  14. I've no idea what the **** just happened.

But we are going to Wembley!

That about sums up my memory of the game, had no idea what was going on and only really remember youngs last goal as stand out.

When we went two nil down I was suicidal as there goals were pretty shit / weak and I spent the rest of the game wondering how we had conceeded them until I realised we had won when the pitch invasion started :D
