  1. Why is it a good thing that he has gone, did you not see the last three seasons of football......!

please explain whats your evidence for this?

Yes I saw some 70-80% of all games including hamburg in all there entirety.

Explain my evidence? That doesn't even make sense.

  2. Can the anti MON fans please stand up - was he really teking the club in the wrong direction

It certainly is better for the long term future of the club to have moved on from Mon, its a good thing hes gone...just unforunatlely it hasnt been a good signing we have moved onto, or it hasnt gone well with/for him.

Still perfectly happy to be moving on without Mon. I suppose we could have finished top 6 but never higher for ever, there are worse things.

  3. I would like to think I would give 100% to whoever came in BUT if it's FSW then no way could I support him after his antics with Barry......silly I know but thats how I feel.....he's a rocket polisher!

Feel the same, I dont think I could.

Not because of the barry saga but I just think hes a twerp.

  4. Looking at the odds I think I've missed the boat, was going to whack some on Moyes but the odds are only 8/11.

Guess a lot of people must be thinking the same thing.

You have to put this in perspective. They made a market and probably havent taken twopence halpenny on it. Installing Moyes at 8/11 is bait more than anything, making people think this is a 'good thing' .

What you have to do is second guess Lerner and who you think he'll go for and more importantly get.

Moyes would be great but I wouldnt be overly confident of him coming here and even less so throwing money at it.

In honesty I'm never going to be able to second guess Lerner, the punt was a mostly blind bet on something that could come off with good returns. I didnt put the bet on as for me to be putting on a bet like that the potential rewards are simply shit @ 8/11.

Of course if I thought it was a sure thing then slapping more money @ 8/11 would be tempting :).

This would have simply been a bet and hope bet, losely based on things I have read (i.e. paper moyes gutted about not being able to spend), Moyes rumored as being our original no.1 and the possible exit of our current manager & being good friends with Moyes.

All those things considered, they arnt enough to bet a lot of money but would have been worth a punt with lower money and higher odds.

I did the same with Houllier and turned 20quid into 200+ ;p

  5. How unsettling will it be to have yet ANOTHER manager come in? Makoun? Will he be a part of any new manager's plans? And what about the youngsters, Albrighton,Clark,Bannan and Delph they all know they have big parts to play under Houllier, will that be the case under a new guy? We all had visions of the squad being cleaned out from its deadwood etc and rebuilt over the summer, same conditions under the new guy?

Reasons why I would like to see Houllier stay on in some capacity, help the new manager settle and provide some advice + make them aware of the youngsters properly.

Houllier + Moyes seeing as they are meant to be good friends.

  6. You mean that they start those rumours just to be able to keep GH in a "see for yourself who's available, are they really better?" kind of way? Highly doubt that. I think Lerner is a much bigger man than that.

Its so conspiracy theory, the very notion of it being true is complety preposterous and absurd.

However, nothing suprises me at the minute.

  7. Sounds like a good lad. Thats a good attitude. Hopefully he will push us forward. Could be an influential player for us in the run in. I'm still hoping for a top 10 finish.

From what's written there, if it is an honest translation straight from his heart then you can see all along the kind of player that houllier wants at the club.

  8. Best thing about downing is he just seems like a genuine lad who wants to play the best football he can. He never seems to be at the centre of any trouble and hes not a problem player.

He worked hard for Middlesborough and was pretty loyal to them in all fairness. He doesnt strike me as anyone who would force a move and I think he might be at the villa for some years yet.

  9. Trying to remember what the dugout was like from when my missus took me on one of those tours. I think I remember those snap back seats being there, though it was a complete mess as nobody had cleared up the abundance of lucozade bottles littering the floor.l

pretty sure theres some bog standard stadium seats that coaches sit on and then players sit behind on a wooden bench

Yeah, pretty much what I meant by snap back seats...the same as you sit down on elsewhere in the stadium.

Can't remember about the bench, should do as it wasnt all that long ago!

  11. 4 of his 5 seasons at Middlesbrough, he played 34 or more Premiership games out of 38....so not sure where this has come from that injury free run??

infact, 07/08 he played every single league games. 08/09...he would of played every single game had Petrov not injured him the game before end of season, so missing 1 game in 2 seasons...

Oh right, to be honest I was just quoting a friend who was a middlesborough fan...he used to complain that he was injured alot, or so it seemed.

It's not as if I ever tracked the progress of Middlesborough just felt like my mate was complaining every week.

So it's quite likely that I'm massively wrong, could be just an exadurated memory of how many times my mate actually said he was injured
