Tim has said that there will be a lot of 11 aside games in training to get people up to speed. I know this is not the same as proper match practice but I wouldn't be too surprised to see a couple who haven't been involved much in pre season start.

Now I don't understand what a priori means in any language. I believe it's latin and has something to do with, before anything else. So maybe he's saying that you may be expecting some protracted transfer saga, like with Ayew, but this one is already done.

 

Or he might just be making fun of the fact that Villa are signing all the Jordans. Seems less likely though. He thinks we've signed him is my guess.

Gueye certainly grew into the game against Walsall and after he went off the match went very flat. He certainly looks more exciting than Cleverly but comparisons to Wealth will be more common. 

Seems to get into much better shooting positions than the former though, so I'm hoping for a decent goal return next season. 

Benteke scored against United from a corner too. 

Something that I have always thought about Clark is he has excellent positioning when it comes to defending crosses. He always picks up good areas to cut the danger out and last season he added to the other areas of his game. Best centre-back we have for me. 

I have heard quite a few people say very positive things about Kozak, including how he played today.  Sorry, I just don’t see it, I must be missing something.  For me he did very little. He looked laboured and, surprisingly, not that great in the air. He also missed a sitter.  I will watch the game again on AVTV when posted and will look more closely but overall I am not sure this guy will score many for us this season, just my gut feeling.  If we get two new strikers I might be tempted to send him out on loan to build his confidence and see how he performs. I agree Sellars looks promising.

I have to agree with you, I only saw him win one good flick on in the game but I'm willing to give him more time to get up to speed. 

The guy is a monster in the air, especially compared to Vlaar. Think he'll get a few goals off set pieces for us. 

Bacuna was really poor again today, he gives the ball away far too easily and never offers enough creativity in midfield. Sinclair was also poor in his decision making when he was in good areas. I didn't think Richards played too badly at all except for some weak clearances, he is a beast in the air and I think he will score his fair share off set pieces. 

Amavi was a good outlet down the left and he looks so comfortable with both feet. Gueye really grew into the game too, he looks far more of a goal threat than Wealth and still loves a tackle. 

If we sign Adebayor then I can't see Kozak getting near the first team. Although he did well for the assist and also played a good ball through to Sinclair, his lack of mobility and pace make him quite one-dimensional. He also doesn't win enough in the air and I thought Robinson was easily our biggest threat. 

I really hope we get Ayew now as we certainly need more in the creative 3rd but hopefully with Gil and Grealish back we will create a bit more. 

If we can get rid of Luna then I'm pretty confident we can shift anyone. 

Except N'Zogbia. He'll never leave.

So how do people rate Sergi Darder that have seen him play? Is he similar to any other player we have?

I'm just hoping that the Gueye and Amavi money is from Tim's transfer budget and that we still have close to £40 million to spend on new players from the sales of Delph and Benteke. Knowing Lerner however, that probably isn't the case.
