  1. Long term wise Hughes is the best candidate and for him and us it's mutually benifical challenge to kick on to the next level.

This is the Hughes thats about to walk out on Fulham after a season? Love you long term?

    Who would you want?

As for Hughes leaving, the fact that he has a get out clause shows that it was a short term appointment for Fulham, you can be pretty sure that we wont be allowing him the same option.

    Mark Hughes

    Sweet F.A.

No real arguement here is there?

If we get Sparky, I'll back him because I think he's a capable pair of hands a safe option but if the club want to show ambition and get the good vibes around the place again, there is only one choice.

Yep, and that shows when he guides us to 6th next season, and a job comes up in the Champions League, he will no doubt be off to manage them.

  3. I've got £20 on Hughes with Victor Chandler at 10/1.

how long ago did you put on the bet to get 10/1?

Just checked, I put the bet on 11th May.

The odd's dropped a bit the week after, probably after my £20 because there is so little money in the market has Houllier will probably stay. :D

  4. I think it will be Mark Hughes. I heard a rumour that we had him lined up when MON apparently wanted to leave after the Chelsea game but obviously he didn't leave.

Not a fan myself but it would be the easy option as apparently he's only on a one year deal at Fulham.

  5. Its been a stop start season for Delph after his LT injury. I think he will be a key player for us next season.

To date he has been most effective for us in the playmaker role:

    ------------ DCM ---------------

    ----------------- Delph ---------

    ----- ACM ----------------------

The best example I can remember was the first 30 minutes against Man U at home last season when he ran the show alongside Stan and Milner.

I am not sure he can play the DCM or the ACM at this point. For me this puts him in direct competition with Makoun and Bannan. I think he is better than both of them, again from what I have seen.

Do you keep a template of that formation on your computer? If you don't, you should, it will save you time typing it out each time and you can just change the players depending on the thread.

  6. The trains are showing up fine on Trainline. Are things ok now?

Nope, it will be a reduced services. Do not trust trainline. It's down to a Union dispute with drivers, basically they are not contracted to work Sunday's, London Midland tried to cut their double time, the drivers told them to **** off.

I got the train on the Sunday the other week and they were just every hour. Your best bet would be to phone centro, you can get through directly on 01212002700.

  7. Hi General,

I think we need someone to look into the way that AVTV subscriptions are cancelled.

I subscribed for the '99p for 14 days' offer back in January. I made sure that I cancelled my subscription on the 13th day, to ensure that I wasn't automatically charged £4.99 for the next month. I have now realised, 2 months later, that I have been charged £4.99 twice!

I cancelled my subscription AGAIN and it, again, still let me watch videos on AVTV. I have now had to email the customer service team to get my subscription cancelled.

Also, to my dissatisfaction, I was told that I could not have my previous 2 months refunded (even though I haven't logged into AVTV since the 14-day-trial).

This is a really poor service and will leave other Villa fans unhappy. I think the system should be revised, so that you actually get an email confirmation - so that IF you aren't unsubscribed correctly, people will at least be able to get their money back.

    Rob

I had the same problem. I cancelled it with in the time, but they kept taking money off me. Only when I contact customer services did they cancel it for me. They refused to give me a refund. I continued to email them regarding this, and they never once then responded to another email. As it was only £10 or something that they had taken off me, eventually I just gave up which I assume was what they hoped for.

  8. Not sure about people touting Bannan for a role in attacking midfield. Most of his successes so far have come from operating as a deep-lying play maker. The kid has undoubted tallent, perhaps more so than any of our Youngsters, but finds it difficult to impose himself on the game at times. Put him in Young's position and he'd struggle to get the ball at all.

He played in that position in one of the cup games, and you are right, he looked completely lost.

Playing him on the wing sometimes isn't a bad option, it gives him game time and it not such a critical position when/if he gives the ball away. In that cup game he looks decent when he was moved onto the wing, and playing for Scottland he did as well.

  9. 10 min highlights are on AVTV now.

Can anyone download the link for the 10 minutes? I don't even know if it will allow you to do it.

I have already used my free 14 days, then they robbed me of a months subscription even though I cancelled it but that's another story.

  10. The last game Ireland played for us that I remember was Liverpool away, he gave the ball away twice with sloppy passes which is fair enough, but then he made no effort was so ever to win the ball back. He did this in other games so I think it's bollocks that he is interested in playing for us.

  11. You mean in the fact that he looks far to slow to play left back, but still manages to do a reasonable job there?

No, in the fact that he gets lost, has to lunge, gets badly exposed a fair few times per game and isn't a natural fullback. In short, against a top right winger he'll be a weak link provided he stays on the pitch. I'm one of CC's biggest fans and have been championing him from the reserves, but he's no leftback.

Hence I said reasonable job, Barry was no full back either.

Hopefully we will get another left back in before the transfer window, as Bentley isn't the fastest around and he still did Clark for pace.

  12. I fancy us to win 2-1 with Bent to score of course.

I think the team will be

    .............Friedel

    Walker.Collins.Dunne.Clark

    Downing.Petrov.NRC..Gabby

    ..............Young................

    ..............Bent..................

Personally, I would rather see Gabby up top with Bent.

Still seems to be a load of tickets left for tomorrow, will be embarrasing if we don't manage to get past 40 000.

  13. He played AM vs Chelsea, Sunderland, Blackburn Liverpool, Burnley....so he has had chances in that position.

I would say that in most of them games he was playing more as a centre forward, certainly in the Burnley game he was as he was up front with Ashley Young.

The only game of them where it looked like he started out as a attacking midfielder was against Liverpool.
