  1. Gutted Group

Strachan, Mcarthy, Grayson, Clark, Holloway, Withe, Bruce, Bradley, Ince, Grant, Mcallister, Southgate, Wlater Smith, Neil Lennon, Mclaren, Roy Keane, KMAC, John Gregory, Mcoist

    Meh Group

RDM, Bentiez, Curbishley, Hoddle, Hughton, Sven, Klinsmann, Zola, Ranieri

    Yes I'd take these group

Lambert, Adkins, Martinez, Poyet, Avb, Brendan Rodgers, Di Canio, Moyes, Bilic, Rijkaard, Capello

Agree with this accept I would move Klinsmann up a group, mainly because of the hype his appointment would create.

  2. I think Lambert is first choice, and always has been. I cant see how they would want OGS over him. I think the fact that OGS wasn't offered the job before he went to meet his owner speaks volumes. At the end of the day, the ITK knew **** all about OGS until the info about the plane came up, after that OGS basically did a couple of come and get me plea's, now he has changed his mind and wants to stay.

Does that sound like someone that has been offered the Villa job and turned it down or someone that has realised they are staying with their club and wanting to save face with the fans/owners?

  3. As long as he we bring in the right manager, that's all that maters. I think Faulker has **** up at times, but he seems to be able to bring in the players that the manager wants.

So if he makes the right choice as manager, no one will give a shit that he is still CEO in 6 months time.

  4. Calm down all!!I'd be hugely shocked if Mick McCarthy got the job and I don't think he's a realistic candidate but contact WAS made - that's the story. Nothing more than that.

The reasons why? Your guess is as good as mine.....I guess it is just Villa doing their due diligence.

Contact probably was made, Mick's agent phoned the Villa and got told to **** off.

Guess that constitutes a story as you never said who made contact.

  5. Seens Matt Kendricks Blogg - A fan askes if we will break the 20k season ticket sales figure. Kendrick ducks the issue. - IMO were an't going to have 20k season ticket holders next season - which would mean attendances of around 25k on average .....

The club have to take notice of those figures.

I think it will be nearer 16k next season, I think we would have lost 1/1.5k or so anyway as of the general boredom of football these days, but the rest would be as a direct result of McLeish been in charge.

  6. Having a go at Mcleish means having a go at Lerner and its clear no matter what he does some just can't bring themselves to do this.

The same people would be defending and excusing any useless manager in charge. Lowering expectations is possibly the only skill Lerner has shown as owner of Aston Villa.

Well he did also increase the expectation didn't he?

  7. So when the players play shit, it's McLeishs fault, but when they do well, it's nothing to do with him? What a load of bollocks

They played well because they knew the consequences, the team was like it was due to injuries, it forced McEcks hand otherwise why hasn't this happened in the previous 17 matches?

Because a lot of the time McLeish got the tactics wrong, also , however last night was good. Plus for it to go well for McLeish, N'Zogbia needed to start well after we lost Young and Downing, last night was his best performance of the season and we looked a better team for it.

  8. And we will get relegated? Unfortunately, you need performances and results. Last night we got the former, but not the latter.

All last night did was show that those who think the fault is not with the manager but with the squad are wrong. The talent is there, it just needs the right manager to unlock it.

You think if we play like that every week we will get relegated? I disagree but if we did so be it. I enjoyed the game last night as the players tried and that's what I want to see.

I'm not a fan of McLeish, but he ain't going anywhere so I like to look at positives.

So when the players play shit, it's McLeishs fault, but when they do well, it's nothing to do with him? What a load of bollocks.

  9. Better performance but from forced changes in my opinion, Clarke, Bannon and Allbrighton were great though they need a good run in the team. My worry is that as soon as the players are ready he will revert back to old team.

Hutton was rubbish yet again and him getting sent off was a relief as he will get dropped now, Warnock was not good either with some stupid passes and shit crosses.

Still got to change the manager

Albrighton has been given a run in the team hasn't he? Can't see McLeish dropping him, and Herd has been playing instead of Clark. As for Bannan, he was given a run but lost his place due to drink driving.

If the players perform like that every week McLeish can stay.

  10. It's not a suitable stick to beat him with on its own, certainly. I'm arguing with because I disagree, not because I think this alone means McLeish should be sacked.

I guess my main problem is that I see nothing in Heskey, and I'm not even sure he brings the stability to the side others think he does, while providing little going forward. As I've also said, I would be loathe to ever take off Bent unless he was injured, as even when he looks out of form he can come up with a goal, and I would not want to take off our best chance of scoring unless a game was actually won (i.e. up by a few goals.)

The thing is, with Bent's lack of ability to hold the ball up, and also his poor defending at set pieces, he could actually lose the game as well. I was pleased to see him brought off, even though I do like Bent.

We have always ended up hoofing the ball a bit at the end of a game if we are winning, a lot of teams will so with Gabby or Heskey as the front man, it's less likely to come back you like it does with Bent.

  11. 64% say no.

Bloody hell we're a third into the season.

what if we win the FA Cup and finish 4th?

How can people possibly say no??

I still wouldn't anyway, I have felt for a while that i don't get value for money when I go to the games, this was under MON, Houllier and McLeish. Every season, I think I can normally remember one, maybe two really good games at Villa Park.

  12. Its not just about the manager or director or even the football we play, I have been going down since the early 80's and been there through a lot of bad times but never have I felt like this.

its the premiership too in my opinion, money has put us in a position where we just make up the numbers and as soon as we get a good player you know we can not afford to keep him.

I think the only thing that may make me renew next season is a major investor and change of manager or if we get relegated. Yes I know! Relegated! Some of the best times I have had was in the old second division and I might enjoy it more.

I really not enjoying gong down anymore but its not just about the manager and team.

I agree completely with this, maybe not so much with the relegation but I understand completely what you mean.

I got bored of going a couple of seasons ago, when we had our best season in years, and got to Wembley twice, but I still found it a bit boring going to Villa Park.
