  1. What cracks me up about the England scenario? It's only Gerrard who doesn't perform, what about Lampard, do you see him as a free-scoring midfielder for England because i certainly don't. Gerrard after Rooney is our most important player for me, only guy who can change a game within an instance.

Lampard has 21 goals in 66 starts for England, that's not to bad is it?

Back to the Carrick point by another poster, he has been shocking for two seasons and is definitely not what we need.

  2. Sure we get 30M quid to spend but what message does that send out about us do you think?

It doesn't send out any message, like you said earlier in the thread, players rule these days, and if Milner wants to leave, we get the most money possible. If he want's to stay, he gets a new deal on more money.

  3. If we do let Milner go, and at the moment I think its a possibility, then what sort of message will that send to the other players.

Will they think that we are not serious about progressing any further and are happy to see our best players leave. Cant imagine it will do much for the morale of the rest of the squad

What do you suggest doing then if he wants to leave, and someone is prepared to pay a ridiculous amount of money for him?

  4. i think he is doing a press conference for england alter and i expect him to say nothing except its in the clubs hands.

but we should not sell before world cup as others have said as if he has a great world cup he will be worth more. i definitely think we should try get richards as part of the deal

I dont expect him to comment on it and neither should be.

Press conference is for England and not transfer talk.

  5. If Everton have got no money, go and get Stephen Ireland from Man City, Hargreaves on a free (or nominal) from Man U - and go and tempt Everton with a cheeky offer for Fellaini !

Just show us something...... please !!

Everton paid 15 million for Fellaini, I think it will take a pretty large "cheeky offer" to get him.

  6. I dont think Milner will go so that is the main thing.

However, I am sick and tired of season after season knowing what the Villa need, and then watching every other club doing business and us leaving it until the last day of the transfer deadline.

Foster having medical at Blues, Chamack having medical at Arsenal, Spurs having already bought Santos, Man City already bidding for Milner, Barca buying Villa and talking with Arsenal about Cesc, , Henry to Red Bul, Blue bid 8m for NZogbial etc...etc...etc... -and they are just the high profile ones

MON - you have had 8 months to work out what you want - now go and buy him before the likes of Milner think the same as Barry did !!.

I know it is only 3 days after the season is finished but jesus - why are we the only club who seems not to plan for these things.

Teams fly out for South Africa within the next 7 days - dependant on the team, some are going sooner.

It will then be late July before deals can be done.

I get the distinct impression, come July 25th - we still won't have signed anybody, still won't have decided on a shirt sponsor , and still won't have released our kit !

And it is bloody frustrating !

Brilliant, it's started earlier than normal!

  7. Same happened last year with Ashley Young, and I'm sure it will happen next year if we have a player that's wins young player of the year award.

Personally, I dont think he will go, not to Man City anyway. As they just buy players, and have no plan for what they want to do with them. I think it's it's Man U, then he woud go, because they will only buy a player they really want.

On the plus side, if he does go, at least with Man City interested it will push the price up.

  8. The Premier League will allow it, for crying out loud, they bloody allowed Tevez and Mascherano to play for West Ham. Remember all that rubbish they gave to Villa when we tried to sign JPA. Were outsiders for the Champions League, if Man City pull this off, i can see a certain twitch face complaining.

My memory is shocking so I don't remember the JPA stuff to be honest. You are right on Tevez and Mascherano, I just cant see them letting Hart go back and I really hope I am right. :D

  9. People trying to compare our situation to Man City are living in cuckoo land. Man City have Stuart Taylor back from injury, he has resumed training this week, they also have that Faroe Islander. We had Sorenson/Taylor out, We had Olenik a youth team keeper. The point i am making is Man City's keeper is not a youth player he has played World Cup Qualifiers, its bad management from Man City who threw money at every player and failed to strengthen their GK department. They sold Kasper and loaned Joe Hart to Birmingham, leaving Given/Taylor/Nielson as 3 GK's. They will now be allowed to bring an England International arguably having a better season than Given to their team. Its completely wrong!

I dont think they will be allowed to bring back Hart, I just cant see the Premier League allowing it.

  10. We were allowed to do it once, having No.1 and No.2 keepers out, I think we still had Robert Olnic or what ever his name was in the squad, plus other reserve players.

However, what wouldn't be right, is been able to bring in another teams first choice keeper.

  11. If Man City are allowed to bring back in Hart as their keeper, then that surely effects the integrity of the Premier League.

The only way Blues would allow it, is if they is some kind of financial gain for them, or the promise of a loan of players for next season. Fair play to Blues if they accept it, but surely, no kind of financial agreement should be allowed outside of the transfer window? I cant see Blues letting Man City have their first choice keeper out of the goodness of their heart.

  12. No money should be allowed to exchange hands in the case of the emergency loan, and it's not like you can pay a few million as a back hander.

I dont think Man City will get Hart, the Premier League, no mater how week they are would not allow that as the other Premier League clubs would be up in arms, do not forget, that the so called big four certainly dont want Man City to finish 4th due to the power that would give them.

  13. It really, really doesn't.

He signed Dunne becasue Distin chose Everton.

Don't forget he only signed Milner becuase Bentley chose to go to spurs.

Great signings granted, but lets not get ahead of oursleves.

People really do think he is a genius don't they?

More likely, we signed Collins instead of Distin, do you not think?

Yes, it was just complete luck with Milner, it's not like he tried to sign him as soon as he became manager as well.

    Some **** people!!!

  14. Did you go to the CC final because quite frankly Wembley was one hell of a disappointment.

I liked Wembley, served beer quickly at half time and before the game, had a cracking view and the atmophere where I was sitting was good.

I know that getting away afterwards was meant to be a nightmare but I did pretty well and was back at a pub in Old Street with by before 6.

  15. This thread is the first example I have come across that indicates that ST holders should not be granted special allocation.

How would you suggest sorting out the allocation then? Who want's to go the most? :)

Besides, if there are that many season ticket holders that don't want to go, then the tickets will be made available accordingly.

No other way to distribute the allocation if you ask me, I would be most annoyed if as a season ticket holder, i didn't get priority over non season tickets holders.

  16. I'm going, but it shouldn't be at Wembley as it's a semi final, however I am looking forward to seeing Villa play in a semi final of the FA Cup, surely that's what you hope for at the start of the season? Still having a chance of appearing in the FA Cup final at this time of year? It's certainly what I hope for anyway.
