No, his second. We had better players last season, but still managed the same league position as the season before. We went out of Europe in the first round, we played teams divisions below us to reach the LC final and FA Cup semi final. Not that impressed, sorry. And we are currently lying 7th in the league with the best squad for years. If Liverpool are having their worst season for ages, what do you call our season? Top notch?

When I predict the score I take off the claret and blue specs and do the prediction as though as I am a neutral, as wanting Villa to win has nothing to do with what I think the actual score will be. Chelsea is a free flowing attacking minded team, we have a defense that is all over the place. Warnock making silly mistakes, Dunne making mistakes and carrying a knock, and the never ending debate with Cuellar playing RB... Milner carrying a knock, Petrov by himself against Lampard, Ballack, Joe Cole and other creative midfielders and strikers dropping deap...I am worried yes!

Did you see the Sunderland game? yeah and take craig gordon out of the game and we would have had 3-4 more goals, we played ok against sunderland, but it just wasnt our day. no doubt if we win today you'll be the first on here saying how great we are :evil: i cant criticise the players for there effort, i could criticise MoN as his lack of rotation and stubborness to play certain players is what is costing us, ie heskey up front, cuellar at right back. dunne was carrying a knock on wednesday but insteads of resting him and pushing cuellar into centre half and young at right back he plays him and now we may not have him for the chelsea game. Like I said on some other thread: Players on the bench are not match fit and can't last a full game! So Dunne played with a knock, Milner played with a knock, and none on the bench was good enough to start ahead of them? What about being a bit creative and use Davies (is he still alive?) or Luke Young instead of Dunne? Or maybe put Milner on the wing, because he shouldn't run as much as he should playing CM and carrying a knock? I don't know what today's team will be, but all I know is that with the semi-injured players on the pitch, we will be reduced (like the Sunderland game), and with the bench warmers on the pitch, we will be reduced because they are not match fit. I don't criticize players and normally not MON, but this has been ridiculous for a long time. I am saying this before the game, because I am more reflected now than after. I hope we win, but this is the lowest expectations I have had before a game all this season and last season. Yes, Gordon made some saves, but that is his job. So why did the Sunderland players get so much room? Had they put all their chances, we would have lost with 2 or 3 goals. Our defense is tired.

This is MON's worst season as a manager for Villa. His first season can be excused, his second season was the best, but this season is below expectations. Yes, League Cup final...we fought hard to beat teams several divisions below us to reach the final against Man U. That was the first game of the competition were we played a team of equal or better quality. The same goes for FA cup. Chelsea is the first team with equal or better quality that me meet in the cup. If we lose this and end up below the top 4, we have done nothing of note this year. Being lucky and barely beating Crystal Palace, is in no way a measure for progress Being closer to the best team on the table is, but we can all see how we struggle to score goals, when our attacking power is much stronger than in MON's first season (were we scored a hell of a lot goals). Maybe it is the tactics with Carew and Heskey in midfield, maybe it is tiredness again...With Gabby injured, Carew is scoring again. I don't think it is a coincident, because without Gabby, Carew has been playing as a striker again. MON should know better, and make the right choices, which he barely does.
