Have to disagree, I don’t think one player outside our starting 11 is better than any in it. Yes they might have different attributes but none of them are better players who would improve the side.

I didn't say the were better in general, but I am pretty sure that a player on the bench is better than a player having a shit day on the pitch.

There are certainly a few candidates the issue is the options to replace them are worse.

I think the replacements are good, and offer other qualities to the ones playing. Can help with formation change, and not concede freekicks in dangerous positions. Nakamba is a master of that, and Hourihane offers something in attack. So does Davis. Olli has been good in 1 game in the PL. He should be out.

Smith never subs off Mcginn or Grealish in a league game, no matter how badly they play.

That's nice for squad morale if you have 10 untouchables that never gets substituted.

This is the 2018/19 championship table based on games from the date Smith took charge until the end of the season, in that time he took more points with us than Bielsa took with Leeds, he then went and won the play-offs, again something that Bielsa failed to achieve with Leeds.

This season we have more points than Leeds in less games, and I wouldn't back against us being above them at the end of the season.

Whenever they've been in the same division together, or in the same competition in the case of the play-offs, Smith has outperformed Bielsa.

    Does this include Brentford?

I don't think Davis, Hourhane and Nakamba were the answer to tonight's questions.

Depth is going to be our biggest problem this season though.

Actually I think Nakamba would have been just the guy to stop Rodrigo, Barkley had an off game and fresher legs were needed, and Watkins has been hiding for 4 of the 5 games in the PL and we needed muscles up top. Taking Trezeguet off made the team even worse.

Well clearly not everybody as Tarkowski, Dunk and O'Connell are still awaiting their first call ups, let alone caps. Since that time, Mings has earned 4 caps. Even Jack got 2.

So serious!!! I have never heard of these players you mention ;)

By all estimates, a bench player suffering a long term injury prior to joining Villa is an excellent analogy of a rusty car ;)

Mings was fixed, healed and developed at Villa. Payed for by Villa. Then bought by Villa.

And back to the topic, the same will happen with Barkley. In a bigger scale with larger amounts.
