There's just no way on this planet that Delph has sat for this long without signing a new contract, if the reasons are 100% true. No way.

Definitely dont agree with booing a player before they've even started. Imagine if your boss or coworkers told you you've done a shit job before you even effing started the next bit of work?! I'd tell them to fecking do one. I dont think fans realize how much power they have in numbers. The crowd is called the 12th man for a reason. Ofcourse he's not been great by any stretch of the imagination but Westwood has just come back from injury and probably wasn't fit enough to have a full run out and Delph wasn't available. 

appreciate he's had terrible service and looks lost out there sometimes, but his first touch and willingness to win the ball has been abysmal. Him and Gabby need to suck it up and realise neither one of them is bigger than the club.

He's actually, on average, had more chances than he had last season, taking more shots, yet still failing to score. He's out of form, frustrated and desperate i think. Gotta agree with you sometimes he really does just loo like he's given up because he's in a rut, yet at other times it's like he's pissed off at himself and he wants to do something. Saw him make a good track back to press Bournemouth that stood out for me (obviously not the role of a striker but showed decent willing), but his decision making is poor - like when he should have passed to Gil first half and just ran towards him instead. Desperation. Needs a goal. Needs to put more effort in though instead of giving up. 

 

Elche are pretty crap at the moment and Gil did come from Valencia... I'd be asking Gil if there are any more like him at Valencia who can't get a game. 

 

 

He was under Valencia's ownership and unlikely to win a regular place in their side, but saying he came from Valencia is like giving Chelsea the credit for developing Courtois. I'm sure it's merely coincidental that two of Elche's side from last season and now in the Villa team.

 

I am not kidding when I say that the direct replacement for Carles is actually a more effective player. There are loads of players around in Spain plying or learning their trade in lesser clubs and scouts ought to know who they are - but it depends on being the right fit and, like all signings, there's more luck involved than people are willing to give credit for.

 

He came from Valencia's academy though didn't he?

I cant actually remember seeing him play last season for the bogs, which if he did play, says it all really.

I saw him preseason start a couple for Citeh, he has porential to be very good but needs to get his head straight and focused on football. Will Lambert get the best out of him? Wouldnt bet on it.

I'd like to see Grealish start to see what he's really got. We only see half an hour/20 minutes of him if he comes on. And the rest of the team are usually playing shit. Otherwise send him on loan to get some proper playing time in the Championship, where he'll develop and come back stronger. If he does go on loan though id want a winger coming in.

Benteke offers nothing upfront rather than being a big lump, his touch has been terrible and he needs to seriously sort himself out. Gabby is worse than average.  Cleverley is as bad as it gets  Gil was different class when he came on and Weimann played some good stuff.  Dunno why Westwood came off as he would of linked up well with Gil.  Hutton, Sanchez, Gil and Weimann played good and Goose put in a solid performance other than that we have some real jokers in the team that need replacing or at the very least some serious competition for their places in the team eg. Gabby and Benteke.

Sanchez alright, Gil decent, Hutton decent, Guzan decent. Tactics weren't great Skrtl isn't going to let Benteke bully him so long balls were wasted. Gil's passing looks promising though and I'm glad we aren't relying on Andi, Gabby and Hutton to be creative.

Not really, we weren't in anywhere near as bad a situation when we signed any of those four, they were all close season signings.

 

Also for the above mentioned players moving to Villa was a step up, moving from Valencia atm is a big step down.

 

I think/hope Gil has big potential, but don't think he's there yet.

Still think he alredy is a big improvement on Gabby, Andi, N'Zogbia

The usuals will get the blame - Cleverley, Gabby and maybe Cissokho - but Okore, Benteke, Westwood and Cole have done absolutely nothing in that half.

 

I'd seriously consider taking Benteke off in an effort to wake him up to the fact that right now he's not a great player carrying a crap team - he's playing crap football in a crap team.

Yep. And Gabby he can **** off too. The only problem is Benteke can pull something out the hat when he feels like it and noone else can. Bacuna and Grealish need to be on - they deserve it.
