What?!
Richards is atrocious at Right back. He has NO attacking ability whatsoever! He's quick and he can header. He can't run with the ball, he has little to no technique, he can't cross and he often gets caught out of position.
Brown is no better than Young either. He's an okay centre back but he lacks the abilities of a good full back.
Glen Johnson is a good attacking fullback and I really rate him. Young is solid all round.

That Bouma picture is brilliant
-
I don't rate Neville either.
My best friend (who happens to be a Manure fan) hates Neville with a passion.
-
Spot on.
Name me two better English right-backs.
-
Really neccessary?
-
Nah, not to my knowledge.
I read a story the other day about how their boss wants to keep the team together and sign our Wayne permanent but it's not actually happened.
-
DDID, Routledge is on loan. He's still contracted to us.
But he will leave at that's as good as a dead cert.

Can anyone tell me why everywhere I look on here people are suggesting Carew is leaving in January? I know he's injured but he's come back before?? Am I missing something?
I've only seen one person suggest he's leaving.
He won't be at all IMO, if he did leave it definitely wouldn't be in January. It'd be in the summer.
Which he won't :winkold:

I dislike you

2 out
You're underestimating MON if you think he'd let two players go and not sign anyone.

With the January transfer window coming up, I thought I'd start a thread in regards to how many transfers IN and OUT will be going on at Aston Villa Football Club!
Personally I can see, one, maybe two, tops.
I think Heskey is nailed on. I also think Harweood will leave and that we will sign another striker.
But no more than that!
EDIT. Completely forgot about Routledge. He'll be off too.
Poll added for players IN. And will run for 7 days.

I'll miss Barry but for £8mil plus crouch you can't go wrong.
FWIW, that article was genuinely funny.

A real chance of europe gone? Thats really OT
Spurs spent £16M this week.
They spent that on one player in the summer and they're fourteen points behind us.
But they are in a Cup Final - a competition that we were knocked out by the mighty Leicester
Spurs are better than their position suggests
So because they are in a League Cup final, they are in a better position than us?
I'd rather be 5th in the league and doing well, than be in the cup final, out of shape and 14 points below us.

They're 14 points behind us and have Everton and Man Utd in their next two games.
What's your point?

You've just got to love those 93/94 Villa goalkeeper kits
-
I agree about Owen.
It'd be good for Moore and Gabby in the striker role too, someone to learn from and lots of first team opportunities when he gets injured.
But when he is fit, the man's a genius.

Touché :winkold:

 666 the number of the beast! I sense Julio Baptista's signing is imminent!
-
Has Djemba Djemba actually left?
-
Mcann gone perhaps to pave the way for Reo-Coker or Sneijder in the next few days? Or ideally both!
Thats just teasing
-
So let me get this straight. Bolton finish above us. And to push on further, they sign our rejects? :bonk:
-
Nearly three hours, and no posts! I hear Defoe is testing out the Holte Hotel early?
-
Carew isn't the guy that will bag 20-30 goals a season.
We need someone who understands how too play off a target man (Carew) to get the goals he creates. That is, IMO, why Carew was bought here.

I voted for Taylor but my true choice would have been a dynamic duo of Oyvind Leonhardsen and Erik Bakke.
