I understand it's not always possible due to sponsors and kit suppliers, but I really like when teams play their final home game of the season in the kit they are going to use next season.

Would be nice for Villa to do that some day.

We did once when we had Diadora kits. It was the game we sent Cov down

  2. I don't agree with the booing on Tuesday at all, but I put it down to frustration on both parts. I partly blame Bruce for starting him after his petulance v Forest. Personally, I would have had him on the bench with Green starting.

I'm desperate for Jack to succeed here as there is nothing better than seeing one of our own make it, but on what I've seen this season, I don't think he will. He wants too much time on the ball, which you simply don't get in the Championship. He would probably be better suited to a Premier League team as bizarre as it sounds

  3. People saying that the win will come and that we are work in progress.

We're coming up to a quarter of the way through the season and we have one win.  Can I ask, where do people draw the line and say enough is enough?

I agree that it would be ridiculous to sack RDM now, but I am very concerned about how we've started the season. He's been backed far more than any other manager in recent times and the side is massively underperforming.

  4. Hopefully we come to an amicable agreement which results in Gabby never ever pulling on a Villa shirt again.

If Murphy's tweet is true, then it just proves how little respect he has for the club. He seemingly would rather rot, than actually try and earn his wages.

  5. Stan has officially retired.

Stiliyan Petrov has ruled out a return to professional football after failing to win a contract at Aston Villa.

The 37-year-old gave it his all to win over boss Roberto Di Matteo this summer but the Italian decided against offering him a short-term deal.

Petrov was forced to retire in 2013 with leukaemia but he beat the disease and harboured ambitions of returning to Villa Park where he used to be the captain.

In an interview with Kanal 3, he has today revealed his comeback mission is over: “There will be no comebacks.

“My return to professional football has failed but I will explain the reasons at a later stage.

Watch Villa fans mob Stan after his final appearance

“I am glad I was able to come back and do a pre-season, but sometimes things do not work out the way we want.

“Could I become a manager in Bulgaria? Of course, but not soon. I do not want to rush.

"I have a lot of proposals... Now I want to devote my time to my family, as when others rested, I was training with Aston Villa and now want to spend time with them.”

Petrov, a former Bulgarian international, trained with Villa this summer in Austria and featured in two pre-season friendlies.

Di Matteo decided to recruit Aaron Tshibola and Mile Jedinak in his position though, and only offered him a backroom role.

Hope that there is no bitterness on Stan's part for not getting a deal

  6. I've got both shirts. Both L and the Away fits different to the home in my opinion. Going to swap the Home for the next size up as its too tight across the chest.

overall quality is much better than the Macron kits, but that was to be expected really.

Really happy with both of the kits and the detail on the badge is much better

  7. King was on Bloomberg a few minutes ago, seems very much like the sale is happening:

Just watched the video on Twitter. Not sure how to link on here but he talked about having a "terrific future under a new owner" and "events in the next few weeks will put us back on track"

    Fingers crossed

  8. Got lucky with the penalty shout for handball against Huth today, along with two solid claims in the Southampton game. Could've been so different, but fair play to them.

What frustrates me is that we should've beaten them in both games this season

  9. ....and he is still twice the GK Bunn is. Switching is not going to change anything.

Sorry I'm not having that. Have you seen Guzan lately?

Guzan's confidence is shot and it rubs of on the defence. At least when Bunn was in goal we got a few positive results. Not saying he's the long term answer but he's better than Guzan in my opinion

  10. I have mixed views on booing the players yesterday. Personally, it made me feel slightly better booing as they truly deserve it this season. But then it leads to a horrible, toxic atmosphere in the ground. The second half yesterday was as bad as I can remember it. I didn't have my son with me yesterday, but I can imagine the ones that did having to answer some tough questions from their kids.

It's just an awful situation and the only way to improve it is to clear out as many players as possible. Starting with the two club captains first
