  1. some how got away with it. i have decided that there is no way we can play with both young and downing in the same side, it would'nt be to bad if we were creating lots of chances, but i can't remember a villa side with with such a lack of creativity in the midfield.
  2. ollie was not good enough to lace mcgrath's boots. ollie was a decent defender, but he was no better than southgate, shaun teale or kent nielson, so to compare him to mcgrath is a disgrace.
  3. fair result, until we start to create more from open play we will continue to struggle against poor oppostion. i thought gabby was again rubbish, today showed us that he will never be a top striker, he may have speed but he lacks a footballing brain. we are a top 8 team and anyone who thinks we are capable of a top 4 spot are dreaming.
  4. how on earth does mon think we deserved to win that game? it just shows that everyone has there own opion on what they watch. it just pisses me off when mon starts moaning about playing two games in 48 hours, surely after 3 years in charge our squad should be able to handle these type of fixture pile ups.
  5. lets get something straight, liverpool were shit and yet we still could not beat them at home again. it took us until the 70th minute before we had a real go at them. i can handle loosing, it is just crap perfomances i find hard to take. can football this christmas get any worse?
  6. champions league, your having a laugh. we never seem to string more than two passes together and there is no creativity in the middle of the the pitch. before i forget can mon please swap that lazy git carew for keane.
  7. the one thing we learnt from this defeat, is that we still need to buy quality in jan.
  8. shite performence and did not creative enough, we really did not test almunia enough. the next three games are massive in terms of where our season is going. why the hell did we play with two upfront, he should of dropped heskey and packed the midfield.
  9. i would say yes, closely followed by, knight, salifou, routledge, agathe, harewood, sutton, marshall, shorey and davies ( davies because of how much he cost us )
  10. how many prem teams do you think petrov or sidwell get into? i don't think they would get into any of the top 10 teams, so that says it all.
  11. imo we are playing crap, again we have created nothing. until we start to create more we will continue to struggle against teams. come on villa step it up second half, everton are nothing special and are there for the taking.
  12. what a boring game. i don't think you can ever refuse a point away from home, but i really do think that was two points dropped. if we are serious about finishing in the top 4/5 of the league we need to start creating more chances from open play. imo sidwell does not contribute enough to warrant a first team place and when downing is fit i can see him eventually taking his place. mon's untouchables (young and carew) need to be dropped and give a chance to someone else.
  13. what a great result, tactically i thought mon got it spot on. at home we have to start with 4-4-2 as it is up to us to win the game, even against the the likes of chelsea and man u. i found it hard to pick a man of the match, as the likes of dunn, collins, milner and gabby were excellent. i don't like to be negative after such a great game, but if carew can not be arsed against the likes of chelsea then we do have a major problem with him, he looked lazy not interested and to be honest i would have took him off at half time. how he has become a fans favorite with performances like that is beyond me. never thought i would say this but maybe it is time to drop carew and start with heskey.
  14. if beye can not get in the team now, he never will. just when i thought we had the right back position sorted, mon decides to **** it up and continueto play players out of position.
  15. for me he is right to go 4-4-2 at home, i personally would have played nrc in the middle, but petrov is just not going to get dropped while he has the captains arm band.
  16. can see this game being a thriller, certain games you know before you go what type of game it will be. i predict 4-3 to the villa, carew with the winner.
  17. why the hell are we still playing a center half at fullback? cant we ever play players in their natural position. can we stop all this ' wait for the over reaction brigade ', at the end of the day we played shite, the manager got the tactics wrong, so i think people are entitled to moan and give their opinions.
  18. good win, job done, expected nothing less than three points today. a bit concerned over petrov and sidwells second half display, against better players we could of ended up drawing this game, in a 4-4-2 formation one of them has got to sit deep and protect the back four. also nice to see brad pulling off some good saves, imo he was motm.
  19. young is more of a solid type player, where as i think beye slightly better going forward and is more comfortable with the ball at his feet. either way it is good to have a bit of competition in the squad, it will keep all of the players on their toes.
  20. people are slagging heskey off but carew has done nothing. for me we are missing that type of player that drops of and links up with the midfield, someone like Robbie Keane. two big lumps upfront doesn't work imo.
  21. i wouldn't bet against mon not being here in 6 games time.
