  1. The injury appears to be nothing to worry about, he just needed a shit...

Jack Grealish was forced off with an upset stomach as he was given the opportunity to impress for Aston Villa’s U23s in front of the watching first-team boss Steve Bruce.

The Villa attacker was lively in the first half and looked a class act in the middle of the park until he departed on 39 minutes.

Grealish looked distressed and quickly told the officials that he needed to leave the field before darting down to tunnel, presumably to use the toilet.

Thanks, I forgot to include that bit, why do you think it's nonsense? How are these players supposed to develop?

I think he's referring to the name of the league rather than the league itself.

Ruge, I'm probably way out of line here but within the context of everything you've told us, the arguments, the substance abuse, is having another kid really the way to go to repairing your relationship?

If my missus said something like yours said to you above, I wouldn't be laughing and joking about it. Especially if she was pregnant with our 3rd child.

Women say some mental stuff when they're pregnant mate, it's expected and basically the rule that you just let it slide.

The idiot who decided to continue motorway works on game night. Actually, the whole Road network around villa Park. What should be 20 minutes from car park to home took 2 hours last night. We can talk about expanding the stadium but how would 60000 people get out of Aston without serious improvements?

Getting on the M6 is an absolute joke at the moment, we ended up using the M6 Toll last night.

  5. My mate is having a party for his 30th birthday next month, but he's decided it's a fancy dress party. Why do people feel the need to do these things? Now I've got to spend un-necessary money on some shit outfit I'll never wear again. If I don't go in fancy dress though I'll likely be the only one there that hasn't bothered and the abuse I'll get will be unbearable.

Theme is 'through the ages'... any suggestions on the cheap?

  6. Vassell is releasing an autobiography. Might finally get some insight in to why he used a power drill on his own toe all those years back...

The Road to Persia is the story of Darius Vassell’s remarkable journey from humble inner-city Birmingham beginnings, to football’s fickle world stage and penalty heartbreak, before his gradual return to civilian life and the unbridled joy of becoming a father to his beautiful daughter, Persia.

Including a foreword from his Aston Villa teammate, Dion Dublin and contributions from England and Liverpool star Daniel Sturridge and the man who managed him for three different teams, Sven-Göran Eriksson, Vassell opens his heart on playing for his boyhood heroes Aston Villa, living the dream with England, before a shock move to Manchester City, a chaotic character-defining year in Turkey and a finale with Leicester City.

Leaving no stone unturned in his quest for an honest appraisal of his life on and off the field, including insight from his wife Amani, Vassell reveals all in his own long and winding Road to Persia.

  7. Seen that you can customise your set pieces a bit more in the next one. Move the player around to affect the curve and spin of the ball etc, will either be pretty good or absolutely terrible.

Think we may need 2 transfer speculation threads soon. One in one out. I'd like to keep Westwood but £6m is a lot to turn down for someone we could replace for free ie Huddlestone (I don't think he's signed anywhere yet)

He's signed a new two year deal at Hull, clicky.

Did he play in those clean sheets? I genuinely don't know if he did but looking at whoscored match history doesn't seem to suggest he did.

I think he only played 12 times due to injury so I wouldn't read in to clean sheets with him in the side too much.

Xia knows that radical surgery is required in Villa’s squad, with a clear-out needed, and new faces for the challenge of the Championship. ‘Roberto has already made a phone call to every single player,’ he says. ‘Every player that he wants to keep is happy to stay. The decisions on who goes are up to Roberto.’

So maybe we've got a chance of keeping Ayew, he's surely one of the few that RDM would want to keep?

I'm tempted to get a (first ever) season ticket for next season, but I know I won't be able to make roughly 40% of home games.  However, since I live in Notts, I'll likely want to go to Forest, Derby, Burton, Rotherham and maybe Sheff Wed away - all of which I assume will get decent away support.

Is it worth getting a season ticket given this?  If so, would it be "best" to get the cheapest one possible or are they in really, really bad seat locations?

Get one of the cheap ones. The view from the Upper Holte wings is pretty good anyway (I've sat in K1 for over 10 years now). As I said earlier, you'll be able to sit practically anywhere on most match days next season anyway.

I am thinking of renewing but want to move from DE to the Holte. But I'm amazed how many unavailable seats there are - the ground looks 3/4 full and L3 and L4 only have a few single seats dotted around. Are they holding some seats back or something?   Do people think there will be more seats available after the deadline for renewing has passed?  As I write this i am thinking I could just renew now and then change the seats later (if better ones come up).

A lot of seats will be reserved and released later, let's say if they're currently occupied by a season ticket holder. To be honest, you could buy a seat anywhere and just sit where you want as it will be that empty.

I renewed last week, managed to bag myself one of the cheap seats in Upper Holte :D
