  1. If we win the cup with him in the team, he's a villa legend in my eyes if he stays or not. He's pretty much kept us up twice on his own, I almost want him to test himself at the highest level.

This term `legend' gets bandied about far too easily. Benteke has been here 3? seasons, with the avowed intention right from the beginning that he was using us as a stepping stone to a better Premier League club. Hardly the stuff of legend in my opinion.

If you win things time isnt relative. Peter Withe was here 5 years, Gabby's been here over 10.

  2. No footballer is overpaid. They are paid what the Chairman/Owners think they are worth. If someone's salary doesn't seem to be good value for money its the idiot that agreed to pay it not the idiot who accepted it that we should be blaming.

Pretty much all footballers are overpaid, it's not their fault, but they are.

  4. So Rodgers is expected to stay on. A lot of people are saying how Suarez made him look good which is very true to an extent, but I don't think Rodgers is a bad manager. He has had practically no fit strikers this season and still got Liverpool to 5th and was pushing for champions league. If they spend whatever money they have wisely (new defender, new midfielder, and a replacement for Sterling), I think they can break top 4.

I still think Balotelli can be a good signing. He was brought in to play with Sturridge but that rarely happened due to injuries. Sturridge-Balotelli can be a very good partnership when fit.

No fit strikers? It's only Sturridge that's been injured. Just because they've bought badly. Our strikers have had more injuries.

  5. Man City - unlikely they bought Boney as a back-up striker. (10%)

Liverpool - Balotelli is a fail so they may well be in for him but a non-champions league club splash that kind of money? (20%)

Arsenal - possibility but may not be perceived to be good enough on the floor for them (a wrong perception i might add). (30% chance)

Man Utd - another possible depends if Van Gaal likes him or not, would love Ashley's crosses that's for sure and their strikers aren't great/injury prone.(30% chance)

Chelsea - very possible he's better than any of their back-up strikers and would fit the Mourinho mould. (60%)

PSG - another very possible with Ibrahimovic leaving , they need a replacement striker. And France is next to Belgium (50%)

Atletico - they need a striker too, Mandzukic is just not that great. As per Liverpool cost maybe an issue. (10%)

Real Madrid - if Chicharito is good enough for them then Benteke most certainly is. If Chicharito goes they could come in for Benteke as back up. I don't see it mind (5%)

**Percentages based on where he would go if he were to leave.

    That adds up to 215%

  6. Bron is possibly my favorite character from the show.

I love his line "Don't do anything stupid lad" followed by "Now that was stupid"

And then when the sand snakes appear "Oh for fucksake!"

Yeah and he's probably dead now

  7. As much as I like to laugh at Liverpool Sterling is stupid. Ok don't sign the contract, but he's not worth £150K a week, unless he's been told he will be offered it. He's 20 not 27/28, he will play plenty of seasons of champions league, if he lives up to his potential, which I'm not necessarily convinced.

  8. 22 year old inexperienced centre backs are gonna have these types of games. It didn't help his experienced partner also had a nightmare beside him. Vlaar only really seems to play well with Baker or Senderos, he seems to struggle with Clark or Okore, I can understand Okore because he plays left, but Clark who knows.

  9. Guzan back in the squad for me please. Given is pushing on 40, and he shows it.

I would say he's showing weaknesses that's always been in his game. He's always played behind poor defences. I don't think that's nesseserly a freak of nature. I shit myself at every corner now, it takes me back to the McLeish era.

  10. yep that Boateng tackle did it for me, im sure Houllier even came out after game and said it wasnt a red card

Houllier said Boateng made a meal of almost getting his leg broke in two.

  11. i think dropping Brad might do him some good, like Minulet (however the **** your spell it) at Liverpool. But as the start of next season he should be number 1. I think Givens been poor in his 3 league games, and shown to me he's not good enough as a number 1.

Obviously in an ideal world I would like a new keeper, but it's way down the list if we can get Brad back to his best.

  12. Today's result was a warning shot that there's work to be done on team if we're to avoid another relegation scrap next season.

Everyone was already aware that there's still work to do.

Well today's result drives home the point. And I'm not sure if everyone was aware, there seemed to be an air of complacency, people calling for Lerner to stay and agreeing with Sherwood that even if the squad stayed the same going into next season then we wouldn't be in a relegation battle.

He's still averaged 1.3333 points per game, which averages out to 50 points, but yeah we knew this team needs players.

  13. I'd rate Gerrard as a better player than both Keane and Lampard.

I understand the debate with Lampard, but Keane is a different player...and better at his job.

  14. Gerrard played his best football under Rafa on the right or just behind Torres. Rafa never trusted him compleatly in the middle. He had more attributes in common with Beckham than Keane or Scholes, but Beckham had a decent first touch.
