  1. in fairness Keane goes to games in his role as Ireland assistant manager

But if the manager is under pressure, surely he can't go...

To be fair to Keane, he did say IF he was somehow linked to that manager's job.

I'm not being fair to him, just like he hasn't been fair to Benteke returning to training following an 8 months injury lay off.

  2. He said he wouldn't go to games managers were under pressure, after being at the same game the manager was under pressure. The guys an idiot. Also he was at the Sunderland game we won 4-0. It's a none story made up to get into the papers to sell books. It's almost Katie Hopkins like.

  3. He got Adebayor to play, imagine what he could do with Benteke?

I think he's simplistic tack ticks wise, which will be good short term, but he's supposed to be a good coach.

He's in nice and quick as I think Stoke is very winnable.

Reading some of the first few pages, there's some gems...including this from me...forgetting the Stoke thing.

  4. See, I've got no idea what that quote means.

I think he means instead of watching us win the FA cup, he's going to avoid it by taking a train journey towards Bournemouth.

Whose football team he expects to bid for Benteke.

Which either shows that he's never watched Benteke play or, the more likely option, he's a **** inbred moron.

Bullshit, he will sit there in his Arsenal shirt and recording it hoping Arsenal win so he can watch it time and time again masturbating.

  5. Thierry Henry. Sometimes I don't have a clue what point he is making.

After all the big build up, he's just the emperors new clothes. He makes me respect Carragher as a pundit more, and sky don't always get it right.

  6. Agree think we would be where Stoke/West Ham are currently are in table if Sherwood was here from the start of the season with this squad based on the matches I've seen so far.

Only question I have is whether playing like this would be possible long term throughout a season we play with alot of energy naturally players will get tired.

The biggest worry would be Delph and Cleverley, but without Europe I think they should be ok. You also have to remembers that we've essentially had only 2 sometimes 3 defenders fit in the last couple of months, something that under Lambert would always result in catastrophic results.

  7. I believe that training pre Sherwood was a token gesture by staff with hidden agenda's....Karsa & Co.......the coaching was non existent and one on ones a pipe dream.

.....a bit of involvement, commitment and dash of nous.....has transformed them.

The coaching was the main reason why I thought that Sherwood would be a good appointment. He's supposed to be a superb coach and we are really seeing that. I think coaching was the Lambert regimes biggest problem. I said that for some time, and the switch from the defensive type of football to the pointless possession showed this up. The problem with movement and chance creation and obsession with shape and getting back behind the ball just didn't work with the players we've got.

Whether Tim can keep this up long term is a genuine question, but I can't see why not. We don't know what he's like in terms of player recruitment, one of the plus points in the Lambert regime (I always though these were good players, just he wasn't getting the best out of them) but I think we've seen genuine tack tickle nouse at times, which was supposed to be weak point. I'm also a fan of the varied play. We can play keep ball, go direct, counter and high pressure at different times.

I can't see why with the right signings, (including Cleverley, a centre half and defensive midfielder), keeping Benteke 1 more year why a good top half finish isn't out of the question. We don't draw many under Tim.

  8. We all know he's a fantastic talent, but hopefully his inconsistency this year (which I think is systemic of the team, and I don't think his uplift in scoring is a coincidence when the team play better around him) will put potential buyers off. Until January at least...

I think his incositancy is more to do with being injured for 8 months.

  9. I'm a bit undecided at the moment. I think Guzan is a far better keeper, but his confidence is shot ATM. It was how he reacted to the goal against City rather than the goal it's self. The second wouldn't have happened with Guzan in goal, I know Given was being fouled, but he was still weak. It was the right time to drop him, but I'm not sure. I suppose I would give Given a few games.
