personally i'm annoyed that someone who SHOULD have gotten legendary status at villa hasn't, and won't
i'm positive he'd have captained us to some form of silverware...and that would've been enough to be considered a legend
legend's don't come around too often, and as talented as our current crop is, there's no obvious contender for someone to have that status
i didn't see enough villa games to talk about mcgrath in detail. i'd love to been able to tell kids when i'm old and grey about this wonder kid from solhull, that captained us back to the PL and went on to win the FA cup. or got us back into europe's top stage
Agree, he will be known as an exceptional player for us, but I think the last legend we had was a long long time ago.

Imagine the sponsorship deals he’ll get from the likes of Nike by joining City. I support Villa but if I was in his position I’d do it in a heart beat and earn tens of millions each year.
I wouldn’t, people compare it to real jobs saying it’s a no brainer.
I could work in London and double my net income but instead I’d rather a 30 minute commute and a job which still gets me a pretty good life.
A job in football isn’t even comparable to real jobs

Greedlish .(
so gutted right now, more for my youngest who idolises him at villa.
-
It must be all up in the air. Journalists saying he’s at training and in Manchester. He can’t be at both, wth is going on.
sounds like 99% off to City now which is gutting.
-
Am sure he believes he can be starting for city, for me those players who win a champions league medal after making two subs appearances in group games are kidding themselves if they think theyve earned it.
glorified lottery ticket medal.

His girlfriend has been receiving death threats scumbags
From the time at the euros, not sure who or why best not be villa fans but again, a lot easier to make fake accounts and appear legit these days

Which funny guy moved this to other football?

If Jack stays (I.e rejects any offers and stays at villa for another season) I’ll donate £10 to VT.
gutted but feel the noise is enough for me to believe he won’t be here next season.

Unfortunately with a great squad of players who will develop we will become the next Southampton.
jack £100m
watkins £65m next year
Buendia £70m year after.
Saints have actually done very well to stay in the prem the last decade.

Absolutely. Last year they knew something was up and Jack was nowhere near the kit launch. This year he's all over it. They know he's staying.
Exactly, they made the mistake with Delph literally days before and even made him captain.
they cannot be that stupid twice surely
-
I just hope to god he stays and signs a contract.
had an awful weekend on top of cricket. Think Jack going would give me a summer depression.
-
Jack came on four minutes into extra time and pretty sure he had about five touches of the ball. He really didn’t have an opportunity

Any stats for the game? Saying Jack had no impact on the game but given he was on in ET when no side passed with any intent I bet he hardly got the ball anyway.
really annoying he was brought on so late

If Messi goes to City they won’t get Grealish and Kane.
messi salary will be about £30m a year on its own

Except it’s in the middle of Aston!
It’s right next to our meetings and events area which can host hundreds of events every year.
doesn’t matter if it was in Moss Side, it’s adjacent to the venue, and people will book hotels in Birmingham and Uber it.

They've already got planning permission for that haven't they?
As an aside I have actually hired Villa Park a few times for conferences - the Trinity executive area overlooking the pitch.
It ALWAYS impresses people and makes it something different to just being in a generic conference room which could be at any hotel anywhere in the UK. Had so many comments about how it enhanced the event.
A hotel would also help the conferences as well.
I’ve been to the Emirates and indeed Edgbaston and they’re a different level.
Edgbaston building a pretty sizeable hotel on their land. Very smart move and will pull business their way.
villa will need to realise the hotel in the next couple of years for sure
-
Villa park really needs a small luxury hotel for meetings, events and match day usage for the rich to spend a wedge in.
Would make the venue a much bigger prospect and increase bookings for many events outside the season as well.
absolute no brainer to me

Just read Spurs make £15 million per year just in food and drink sales - we make £11 million a year from ticket sales…
How do they plan to bridge that gap and I’d like to know what timescale are you working to in terms of improving the catering offerings and service in and around the stadium?
Surely a street vendor food market selling a variety of better quality food would bring in extra £££ over the dodgy burgers vans selling incinerated horse meat burgers and molten lava temp coffees?
That’s because Levy bleeds his fans dry and it’s London prices

these are the kind of games we have tended to struggle in this season......
You read my mind. This will be one of those niggly games where we can kick on and progress but come up short with a loss or a draw.
If we turn up we should be smashing these 3-0 but we know they will be pumped up and Maupay always seems to cause some trouble with our defence.
-
He needs to play further forward. His jack Russell pressing works a lot better against the defence and DMs. Arsenal were shot today because of it.
if he’s pressing too deep in our half I think it loses its value.
barkely is playing okay but I’d be looking at McGinn playing a bit further forward as well Somehow

Watkins starts out wide then they flip to 4-4-2 at a moment notice.
if they could train us to move between shapes multiple times mid game then that would be epic.
