Next week is huge. We need to regain the initiative quickly, which we have done this season following defeats. Another defeat next week and I get the feeling that the season will drift away. The injuries (and McGinn’s suspension) are killing us. The midfield without Kamara and McGinn (and possibly even Ramsey) looks weak.

This is going to get messy. Double figures?

It’s hard to see Carla Ward still at Villa next season. The regression from last season has been alarming.

At least we’ve learnt to win without him now, albeit not very comfortably. Hopefully another few days recuperation and he’ll be good to go.

Feels like a huge victory. This is the point when we traditionally begin the collapse. Hopefully different this time around.

Would have preferred an easier tie to be honest. But it’s a ‘proper’ two legged European match up. Can’t wait.

6th is quite probable now in my opinion, but I don’t think we’ll drop as low as 7th. We’d have all taken 6th and The Conference League before the season started. Still very much doable.

He’s someone that we definitely need to upgrade in the summer. Not good enough for the level we want to be at.

That’s not a very long extension really, only 2 years longer than current contract, I was expecting until 2028 or 2029. Hopefully it will be longer than that as rewarding Leon with a big pay increase you’d want a commitment to 4 or 5 years really.
He’ll be down to 12 months this summer I think, so it protects his value from Villa’s point of view.

I can't get over how big he is...

If it’s £15m then I think that will definitely include some add ons, and probably difficult to reach add ons, considering it was widely reported that Boro were looking for £12m.

Amateur hour it seems…

Terrible ITK. Still can mean it's not happening, tell me when it's 100%, or most likely it'll be done by then.
I’m fairly confident that he’s a Middlesbrough supporter. He might well have good contacts there.

Ironically Crystal Palace signed them both from Championship teams…

He won’t have much to be fair. Milan will negotiate with Barcelona and Lenglet’s management team. If all parties want the deal to happen, Barcelona will recall him and then loan him/sell him to Milan. The only involvement Monchi will have is to try and convince Lenglet to stay.
Unless there is no break clause, which seems to be the case here.

I presume we’ll be hearing about a sale soon. Not sure why else we’d recall him from a Championship loan where he is getting plenty of minutes.

It’s normally a sign of desperation to do a lot of business in January. I’d be quite relaxed if we didn’t do any business until the summer. I guess it will be a one out, one in policy if we get any reasonable offers for our fringe players.
-
I don’t think they will be stupid enough to throw everything at January. It could disrupt the team too much. They’ll take a measured approach and maybe sign one of our long term targets if one of them becomes available.

We’re giving away far too many chances again. Need to tighten up in these away games.

Arsenal links won’t go away. It’s on the sky transfer thingy in the app.
The links don’t really mean anything. If we don’t want to sell, we won’t. We rejected several deadline day offers when we could have lost him for nothing a few months later. The summer might be different if he doesn’t sign a new long term contract, but I’d say there is 0% chance we sell him in January when we have a shot at top 4/5.

Another home defeat. Looks like a survival battle.

Not sure I like where this is going…quite a sad, reflective photo of him to choose.

I think we have to appeal the red card. It’s a foul and a yellow card, but a red is ridiculously harsh.
