We used to, but I think a lot of it was sold - first by Ellis and then by the good Doctor when we were on the verge of going under.

Ah ok that bit I didn't know

  2. In fairness to Diaby he does keep getting into good positions and doesn't stay away from the ball.

    He will come good again!

  3. He said post matche he's been struggling with an injury but is fully fit now. Fingers crossed he picks up some form.

Also said he'd been working hard with the coaches on when to go forward and when to move inside/outside of the winger.  He's learning, whether it is quick enough is to be debated

So whilst Villa get £8m for their main shirt sponsor and £1m for their sleeve sponsor…

A team who finished 12th last season and will finish around 8-11th this season have a shirt sponsor paying £40m a year and have just agreed a sleeve sponsor who will pay £12m a year! (Yes it’s Chelsea).

How the hell do we compete on revenue when these clubs can get more for their sleeve sponsor than we get for our main shirt sponsor?

These rules are corrupt as anything

The plot thickens, now the £55m has appeared in the subsidiaries Aston Villa FC Limited (which is separate from Aston Villa Football Club Limited) and Aston Villa Limited (where it was paid in 1,093,672,040 shares worth 5p rather than 55m shares of £1 like everyone else). Honestly have even less clue what these companies are for than NSWE Sports Limited.

This is all rather peculiar, not how NSWE usually invest funds into the club (they've never directly issued share capital into either of these subsidiaries), presumably its to do with the Atairos deal?

    Risso?!

Gibbs-White doesn't really have the overall game to play as an eight, I've seen him play there for England U21s and doesn't suit him at all, I think Wolves tried him there too, and it didn't work, I've seen comparisons to Ramsey, but in terms of style of play he's closer to Buendia. Also he's not that young, he turns twenty-four this month, so will already know his best position pretty much.

I kinda agree but I don't think he technique is good enough to play the 10 role in the same was someone like Madison does.  He's very mobile which is why I think he's be better as an 8.  Have to day even though I rate him I haven't watched loads of him

You know I've never paid attention to this lad but keep seeing glowing reports about him from fans, so must have something about him.

Don't even know what position he plays!

He prefers to play as a 10 I think his best position would be as an 8 as he develops.

Newcastle are gassed. They're done. It's between us and Spurs for that 4th spot. Could be 3rd up for grabs too if Arsenal continue to falter.

If only, other teams could be saying were faltering too though.  Important  couple of games coming up to cement our place.

Borough have a huge old injury list at the moment it seems. Another one today apparently. Feel more confident we won't see a stevenage **** up even with plenty of changes.

I'll take your word for it, I couldn't name many of their 1st team, seems a good few have moved on since last season (obviously our two came back).

He's signed a new contract with us according to John Townley, presumably that will be officially announced when his loan move to St Johnstone is officially announced

Keen on that, definitely a good idea to get a new contract signed to keep him locked down.

I'd like to see him given a chance in our first team in pre-season just to see how he looks with better players.

Hmm, as nice as it would be I think the gap is a little too big.  We've done well to load him enough to build up some capital.

True, but he needs match minutes and preferably as a starter, to develop him. That’s not going to be in a Villa team chasing top 4, so a loan makes perfect sense. Gives him time to grow up a little, too. The opportunity to do it for us will come if Emery thinks he’s earned it.

Don't disagree with that at all, my point was more around his attitude and the supposed falling out.

Agree the minutes on load would help him grow up.
