They said he was back but broke down same injury now they aren't going to rush him back. Which is fair enough but we really do miss him.
It's sensible just frustrating we don't have him when he's so key to how we play out from the back.

Confirmed out by Emery.
FFS what's the injury? No prognosis or rough return offered.
This is really dragging on now, have we actually been told what the issue is? Concerning he came back for Burnley and hasn't been seen since.

They've said ankle haven't they so not likely to be a muscle injury. Could be ligament or an impact injury

Not in all games, ithiught diaby played pretty well against burnley, admittedly he missed some big changes but his overall play was good.

I think they were sharper first half after playing Tuesday. Sometimes it can be hard to get back in to things after a long break. I reckon we’ll be a lot sharper Tuesday.
Does that make sense or am I chatting shit?
Makes total sense

give your head a wobble....look where we are and where we were in such a short time....your'e becoming, well, expectant
I think its OK to highlight that our 1st half performances have lacked intensity really and we only seem to push for 45 mins. We were playing at a higher tempo earlier in the season.

Not a good game to judge him on with no possession of the ball. Been wasteful so far though

Barca can't afford him, an we wouldn't sell to to a rival.
Its a joke of Barca do try, they shouldn't be allowed to sign anyone!

It's not even for the book balancing, though it would help.
Again - if someone is offering 100M for Luiz - it would be club malfeasance not to consider it simply because any valuation that high is a good deal for the seller and not the buyer.
And I think Luiz has been magnificent this year - but he's playing next to free transfer Kamara who we were incredibly poor without.
So to think that we couldn't possibly find a replacement is pessimistic. We just have to be smart about it.
Look at the top 10 transfers and aside from Mbappe, though I'm sure it helped out Monaco, every one of those transfers helped the seller more than the buyer.
Thats missing some players, Dembele moved for more than £100m to Barca. I agree with the sentiment though.

Great to have him back, was worried this one was going tocdrag on!

Simply amazing how dreadful Man United are against Spurs right now. Something just clicks right into place whenever they play Villa.
We had them for the taking and took our foot off the gas. We're still developing, another game down and nothing lost.

Two games back and two clean sheets, says it all!

Yeah mate, my point being that if he wasn’t rushed back prematurely for Burnley, we may have had him back by now.
Well its hard to know when a player is fit and not feeling affects of an injury what else do you go on? This time he trained all week and we've rested him anyway, I guess that means we've learnt.
It's hard to gauge if the player isn't feeling any discomfort.

Eh? So If he wasnt ready to make the squad today, then why was he ready to make the squad against Burnley?
My comment was obviously not about the injury diagnosis but the decision to prematurely bring players into competitive matches after injury, which to me, is a concernBut we didn't today, he wasn't in the squad?!
-
There are always other players that can be brought in that will become the next Luiz or Grealish etc. Its finding them before they become that expensive that's the difficult part. It's a bit far fetched to say we couldn't replace them, every team replaces a top player from time to time.

To be fair, we’ve won it.
In the 80s mate which doesn't mean a lot to adidas right now.

To be fair to Newcastle they've been in the CL twice and we've never been in since the chance in format.

It was more the reported £40m per season that their deal is supposedly worth. I just don’t see us selling the sort of shirts that would earn us that sort of deal.
That's loads and outs them right up with the others, we need to be getting involved in this. I might be wrong but surely we wouldn't sign up to a long term deal knowing it was way below the market rate of the teams we want to compete with.

Thanks. Shame it’ll be dwarfed by the others, but if Newcastle didn’t get their deal I’d have thought this was a great deal, so can’t complain too much.
What did Newcastle get, where do people find this out from?
Surely ours wouldn't be too far away given the form/position we are in.
-
In fairness we can't complain too much we did get stevenage at home last season!!
I just wanted to play someone completely different

Would he ? Based on a few pre season games when Philogene-Bidace looked like prime Overmars means f-all … He’s tenacious and runs around but I question his quality for a team with our ambitions. Hope I’m wrong but cannot see him miraculously getting any better for us
Philogene-Bidace is also having a good season tbd, albeit in the championship.
I bet his emery only stats are better similar to Ollie

Agreed, certainly part of the reason we've lost some of our "flow"
