  1. No I don't, but in many ways I wish I did. Many people draw strength and motivation from their religion. This is somethiing that I do not have.

On the other hand when **** up things happen, I can't just say to myself that 'it is god's will', I must rationalise it, which psychologically a less problematic approach. I do not have to test my faith in god, I do not feel punished or powerless.

Essentially I believe that religion is a psychological placebo and respect other people's right to their religion.

  2. I thought the atmosphere in general was very poor, but considering Everton scored so ealy on and had the lead for a good 60 overall, you barely heard anything. They kept singing one song over and over, but couldn't hear what it was.

    The 'HANDBALL!!!' song.

    ;)

  3. Honestly, I'm not that fussy, they're all fit. I think the ginger is hot too, whether she miserable or not.

Cheryl is easily the best looking, but she's so skinny that it goes against her a little bit. Still gorgeous though, I even like the accent.

  4. Correctemundo, Nays.

Seven times the amount of nicotine straight into your blood. Won't mess with your lungs and there are no proven links to cancer. Only reason not to do it is that it's impossible to quit, and that it's banned in the EU (I don't know why, when cigarettes are legal) excluding Norway and Sweden.

My boss is American and he 'dips', chews tobacco. He used to use that stuff at the top and now he's using the little pouches. He puts it under his lip and when he gets close and leans over my desk it smells like Beef Jerky. He spits in all our bins in the office and people have to clean them out - mesh wire bins with no bags. He dips when he's talking to you and spits into clear bottles too.. ugh, it's nasty. Don't get me wrong, in this case it may well be the habits of the person, not the habit - but it's not nice at all in my experience. The smell will stay with me forever.

I thought it had links to mouth cancer? Anyway, he has to get his dad to send it from the States, as he can't get any here at all.

    Thats rather disgusting!

  5. Don't think I'll ever have a time as happy as High School (12-16 for Worcestershire). I loved every single last minute of it. My lifelong school friends and I are moving on now and many of which I wont see very often at all again and it makes me very sad. I look back nostalgically obviously, but loved it at the time too.

Apart from double maths. I could handle single maths, but double maths...

  6. So, does anybody NOT call their city centre town? :)

Its called downtown here in the states. I still call it town though.

Ps have you ever been to white label clothing in the corn exchange?

The Corn Exchange? Clothing? At MY age???? :)

I doubt it still exists. The majority has been turned into some poncy food emporium type place. Not a popular move in these parts.

The emos still hang out there. Went and had a look a few weeks ago. Only one place open and the food looks a bit too pricey for what it is also.

  7. Porn mags.

Don't be silly. You dont read Porn mags.

Anyone into Bernard Cornwell? I absolutely love his grail quest series and I'm just about to embark upon 'Azincourt'. Looks to be another fantastic historical novel.

  8. I know what you are saying Tony but he does actually make easy simple tasty food, no matter what you think of his accent and his branding of Sainsburys. Its very rarely I cook a Jamie Oliver disaster

Oh and I served the above fish with saute potatoes, green beans and puy lentils

Have to echo this. His latest cookbook, the ministry of food I think it is, is brilliant. My GF has and has been cooking me some good grub. Just your basic and quite classic type dishes. They're 'made easy', but still really flavoursome.

    -----------

I have a recipee for chilli beef burgers that are absolutely delicious, but its not an exact science. The amounts and weights I cannot give, because I do it in a very ad hoc way.

Beef mince, finely chopped onion and a clove or two of garlic (lightly cooked), wholemeal breadcrumbs, egg, salt, pepper, chilli, cajun seasoning. Mix together and shaped into burgers, not too big or thick (an easy mistake).

Good way to cook: BBQ or griddled till brown and then put in oven to cook through.

Making your own burgers is brilliant, because its cost effective and 10x better and fresher than the burgers you get in supermarkets. And they're a definate winner on the BBQ. Really easy and you can experiement with lots of different ingredients.

  9. No middle ground for me dodgknees. The ball has always been a factor, they used to be heavier and players had to compensate or at least this was what they were used to. No difference for the modern player.

Your aim is to kick the ball in the net. If you kick the ball and it doesn't go in the net, you havn't hit your target. Not a matter of opinion really, unless you're aming for the post, then you're missing the point of football.
