Started the game really well. Obviously to blame for their 2nd goal but ran out of steam in 2nd half. Think hes better as an impact sub.
-
Not unexpected after seeing the team lineup. We did okay in patches but Foden a class above.

What happens if Dougie gets sent off with a second yellow given that if he's close to a 2 game ban for accumulated yellows?
Yes could easily hsve got a second yellow. Weak performance from him. Seems to be more bothered about Grealish than playing the match.

Two poor goals to concede. Not going to blame individuals but you can't turn sideways when you're in the wall. Mind you could so easily hsvr conceded a third before ht.

I'm not too confident with thst lineup

I'm just gonna assume Tottenham will lose to City so the game is in principle a free hit.
All we have to do is to match their results
Can you assume anything in football. I think we can hurt them tonight even without Watkins.

Finished 8th under Big Sam then sacked him
Yes that was then this is now. Sam has had many Jobs since and failed everytime.

Free hit
Hate that expression. No game is a free hit. Losers mentality and Emery is a winner

in normal circumstances yes but when are playing stinking football and not getting results every winless game is an issue
These are not normal circumstances and how many managers have Everton had in the last few years. If he had lost the dressing room I wouid agree and I don't like Dyches style of football either but who is going to want to go there, some mercenary like big Sam who wouid do no better.

Indeed so their fixtures are not great until last 2
Burnley drew at Chelsea with 10 men. They shouid batter Sheffield United though

To be fair we also drew with West Ham just 2 matches ago so perhaps I would say a draw at Europa chasing West Ham is a reasonable result for a team chasing top 4 rather than ‘2 points dropped’.
Not a few days after that 4-3 loss though. West ham were tired and there for the taking.

Like I said this week other than Forest at home what of the next 6 including today look like easy fixtures for Spuds
Forest won't be easy.

Just looked a bit of a tired encounter. 2 points dropped by Spurs. We still hold the slight advantage even if we loose tomorrow. Points on the board at this stage
-
I think he will start but I don't feel very confident with him starting against the best team in Europe. He won't get many touches. His hold up play has to be far better than against West Ham

Another option is to bring in Lenglet, Digne and Zaniolo and play a back 5 but it is a bit defensive. Didn't work against Tottenham but might against City away.
Please no

We all sound very defeatist. Its a major loss losing our key player for such an important game tomorrow. Man city have a makeshift defence. I don't know who they have available tomorrow. Last game Duran started he was dreadful. Let's hope he's better tomorrow. Need Ollie back for Brentford.
-
I like him a lot. He gives our defence physicality which we lack without Mings. I just hope thst he stays fit until the end of the season. I panic when I see Lenglet in the team. Maybe in the conference league bit we need.Carlos for our push for 4th.

Its actually more common for teams to rally after a points deduction and do better than normal. Fact Everton are struggling is on Dyche
Yes it did at first but they have the other one hanging over then. No excuses for Dyche but they are a club in turmoil and latest I have heard from Everton fans are they could end up doing a Rangers.

Dyche has been trying to nil-nil his way to safety since Xmas. Everton are probably the worst team to watch in the league. At least the teams below them try to play football. It feels like all fight has been drained from even their fans this season so not sure how much stomach food the battle the team will have if they slip into the relegation zone again.
Maybe against us but they have created an abundance of chances in most games they play but have nobody to stick the ball in the back of the net. DCL and Beto have been crap.

No chance
Under garde the heads had long gone, the pride and professionalism was dead, he was deck chairs on the titanic, pep with klopp as his assistant wouldn't have saved us
Down to management then. Yes sure we sold off a lot of talent but we bought a lot of players in the summer too. I was talking about the docking of points and the pressure of being docked more points. Its amazing the heads haven't dropped before this.

He is definitely not doing wonders since he is on the verge of breaking a record of the longest run of games without a win.
I think under the circumstances he is having to manage its harsh to judge him on results. Its far worse situation than Villa under Garde.

Bigger trouble looming with the latest financial figures showing big losses for 2022/2023

Not sure what he did wrong, Doku was the one making ridiculous decisions every time he got around the box.
Man. City are even more boring to watch than usual this season.
Yes I thought he did okay. Put over a great left footed cross for Doku. Nobody did much creative wise from City. Arsenal played for a 0-0 and totally snuffed City out

I wouid have thought so. Think Emery prioritising winnable games
