  1. i got the email too, if they invest in the team, get a game plan and lower the prices i may just go to one of the many home games left this season.

£39 for me and £20 for my kid to watch over payed asses coast through a game they should have been busting a gut in. we could go to Telford for £16 for both of us and see players who make up for the lack of skill with a shitload of effort and desire, qualities that are missing from our gutless prima donna's

  2. Im looking forward to it tonight, my kid will be there too, just like Blackburn, the flags then added to the atmosphere and the kid loved it, before KO it looked brilliant with all the flags waving around, quite funny when Blackburn scored and all you could here around us was " fooking flags, they can stick em up their arses", but the same ppl were waving them in a frenzy when we eventually won though, I told my nipper to drink it in because she would never experience anything like it again at VP, it was an amazing night, hopefully it will be eclipsed tonigh.t UTV

  3. If we stay up I am positive that we will go on to better things. Why I think this? It's simple really we'll have the enhanced TV money to invest into the club in a way that may just free up funds to truly have a go at Top 6 again. I feel that we have a squad that is close to completion.. We need a DCM, LB and CB and we are set. The rest of the squad will get better the more they play which will make us even stronger. Next season if we stay up I predict a top 10 finish, season after Top 8 and the season after that Top 6 or higher. That to me is a realistic road map provided we stay up as the TV money will help us in a big way.

Dont mean to sound dippy, but are we the only ones who will get the TV money? Surely the TV money will help every other team in a big way, and obviously with most of them finshing higher in the league they will have more of this TV money than us to help them in a big way.

  4. Quoting West. "The way wigan played today, I think they would have put goals past most teams..."

go back one game, the talk was about how Spurs would have turned anyone over with their performance

back two games and Chelsea were amazing and would have beat anyone by a massive score

of these three games there is only one constant, Aston Villa. The question is were these three teams really good and playing out of their skins or were we just shit and making them all look better than they were.

We need investment in established players and we need it quick.

  5. he needs to shit or get off the pot, and he needs to do it quickly. transfer window opens in 3 days, we need to hit the ground running and get players in straight away and not wait until the end of Jan, thats many games away, games where we need to pick up points. this feels worse than 86/87

  6. I can't actually believe any 16 yr old still has his mom put the toothpaste on the brush for him.

You and me both buddy. Needless to say I told her he needed a rocket up his arse, and she needed to stop mollycoddling him. She was disappointed he quit but after talking to her I can see why it was such a shock to him to actually have to do something instead of sitting playing COD

  7. i bow to your knowledge and experience of everything, if only i'd have known of your existance earlier i would of consulted you on everything.

It's not about having knowledge and experience of everything, it's about having a bit of common sense.

Don't take someone on on work experience if there's nothing for them to do.

Don't expect a 14 year old to happily just watch someone else work all day without getting bored and fed up.

There was plenty he could do, and not just fetching and carrying, but he didn't want to do anything that involved doing something. Maybe if I'd got an Xbox on the van he would of been interested.

Bit of background for you, his mom came to see me to find out what went on, I got some info out of her, the kid is almost 16 and she still puts toothpaste on his toothbrush for him, she carries his tea up to his bedroom and then collects the empty plate after, I think if he'd let her she would still wipe his arse to make sure it was done, she told me the only time he goes out is to go to school, but then why would you go out when you have someone doing everything for you.

She has raised a lazy kid with a bad attitude who thinks that if it involves effort then let someone else do it because at home for all his life he has done nothing apart from get up in the morning and go to sleep at night.

  8. Health and safety says kids cannot work on electrics, doesn't say they can't watch and learn something

This is my point, if the kid can't do the job, what the hell is the point in sending them on a placement there? It's pointless, it doesn't equate to work experience, it amounts to standing around watching someone else work. Might as well sit them in a room and play them a video of someone doing a job. It's pointless, the kid gets nothing from it, it doesn't teach them anything because people don't learn by following someone around and watching them do the same thing over and over again. People, especially kids, just get bored doing that.

FYI nothing was forgotten and left in the van by "a dozy idiot". What is the point clogging up your work area with stuff you could trip over, stuff that if left to one side while you are doing something else could be dangerous if the wrong person picked it up ie kids, this is domestic electrics, people live in the house too you know

From the work experience kids perspective, you left it on the van and now they have to go fetch it. If the only thing you're good for is playing fetch then why would you want to go back?

I won't guess what you do for a living but I bet you don't have to think about site safety.

I've done network installations in bare shells of buildings, I've had to think about site safety plenty of time. Incidentally we had a work experience kid for one of them, and they could do plenty, because when we took them on we knew we could actually find things for them to do.

What would be a better work experience, broadening your mind or stacking shelves, I know what I would rather have done.

Ps they don't let idiots loose on electrics, it's dangerous stuff.

What you describe though isn't broadening your mind. It's boring. It's mind numbing. It's completely ineffective at teaching people about the world of work, because by your own admission, they can't actually do anything.

I also beg to differ on the last part of that as well. I've seen plenty of idiots let loose on electrics. When you see someone turn the power back on whilst someone else was still wiring up a lighting circuit you quickly realise you don't have to be that smart to qualify as an electrician.

i bow to your knowledge and experience of everything, if only i'd have known of your existance earlier i would of consulted you on everything.

You know nothing about me, my qualifications, my experience, my attitude, whether i am of sound mind and yet you make judgments because "this one time at band camp" you did this and the other.

Top n tail of it, that kid could have learnt loads, he could have had hands on experience of electrical installations, testing, comissioning, how the multi meter works, how the paperwork is filled in, what the results of the tests mean, what tools are for what job, which cable type to use for different types of circuit, the difference between MCB's, RCCB's,RCD's and how and why they trip out, but he was a lazy little shit who wanted an extra 2 weeks on top of his 6 week hoilday.

He didnt like the idea of getting his hands dirty and he strolled around like he had all the time in the world, maybe in a 9 to 5 paid by the hour do as little as possible till you go home job he had the right attitude, but in a work till you finish and the slower you go the later you get to see your family type job his attitude sucked.

  9. I wouldn't have turned back up either.

2 weeks carrying cable from a van, or fetching tools some dozy idiot forgot to pick up on his way into the job, and not being paid for it? Nah I'd pass.

    Not+Sure+if+serious.jpg

Deadly serious. It's work experience, not slavery.

What better way to turn people off work than making them do monotonous tasks that you could train a monkey to do. Give someone a placement like that at 14, then wonder why at 16 they'd rather sign on than look for a job.

Health and safety says kids cannot work on electrics, doesn't say they can't

watch and learn something, FYI nothing was forgotten and left in the van by "a dozy idiot". What is the point clogging up your work area with stuff you could trip over, stuff that if left to one side while you are doing something else could be dangerous if the wrong person picked it up ie kids, this is domestic electrics, people live in the house too you know, I won't guess what you do for a living but I bet you don't have to think about site safety. What would be a better work experience, broadening your mind or stacking shelves, I know what I would rather have done.

Ps they don't let idiots loose on electrics, it's dangerous stuff.

  10. Not sure about your attitude either really. I get why you would want an employee to behave like that, but (I presume) a 16 year old who was still at school last month? Moving into the world of work is a huge culture shock and to write off an entire generation based on two days where you might have pushed someone who wasnt ready to be pushed seems at bit daft.

pushed? working on electrics, he was not allowed to anything as per H&S, he watched and fetched stuff from the van at a I dont give a shit pace slower than a snail. everything he was asked to do was received with a sigh and a shrug,he wasnt interested in anything I was trying to show him. He said he was into electrics and wanted to learn, I even put off the consumer unit replacment so he could see a major electrical job with all the paperwork and testing that goes with it, and he didnt give a shit, He wasnt pushed at all, as there wasnt anything he could do but watch and learn. I cannot believe you questioned my attitude, disappointed I am!

  11. I was approached by the local school asking if I could take a kid on work experience, I run an Electrical & Aerial/Satellite business. I met the kid, did a little interview type thing, laid down a few rules and explained that while we were working we worked fast and rested in the van between jobs, tools were to go back from whence they came and he was told not to touch anything without my say so, Electrics=dangerous.

After being indoors watching me replace a consumer unit and doing a full electrical installation test and going to get stuff for me from the van at a sloths pace he was told to turn up today with a sence of urgency as we were all over the place working outdoors.

Today he turns up, moving even slower than yesterday, i get him to lug some cable, I even let him clip some, it takes him ages because even after being shown he was still trying to nail into brick instead of mortar, he chucked handtools on the floor and left them out in the rain and then gave me attitude when i pointed out that metal tools and water dont mix.

long story short, tonight he quit, after 2 days of work experience he decided that work wasnt for him.

It has pissed me off greatly, at his age I was keen to impress, keen to learn, keen to experience something new, this kid didnt give a shit about anything, he just thought it would be a 2 week jolly for him turning his 6 weeks holiday into 8 weeks.

Needless to say the school can do one if they think i am going to waste my time on lazy unmotivated work experience kids again.

  12. get him back in, he'd sort out the arse-holes that are currently draining the life out of the Villa, probably one of the best times I have had being a Villa fan was when JG was in charge, he always struck me as a fan living the dream, and as a fan he expected the players to do their jobs and fight for the shirt, its what we need now, a manager with passion for the club who can instil that passion into the players and make us proud again.

  13. James nursery, matt kendrick have all said they doubt that he will be here next week. What pissed me off were those sky sports prick of pundits, when asked "is it ever possible for birmingham manager to take reigns at villa" merson replies "no" merse even states that he doesn't blame Mcleish and blames the fans.

Sorry but if we went out and hired chris hughton then I would not complain! They were even laughing when it was announced that villa spurs was game of the day on sky sports 1! Hate those rocket polishers!

cancel your subscription and stop contributing to their wages then, you should know by now that if a team doesnt start with Man or are not based in London Sky dont give a shit. Even Liverpoop are slipping down their wankfest charts. I havent had Sky Sports for 4 years and TBH i havent missed it at all

  14. what a load of gash,

the players aren't right behind him. A lot dont't like him at all. This is as lame as when Gabby was speaking in the press the other week despite the fact Gabby totally hates McLeish and cant stand him.

he totally hates McLeish and he cant stand him

wow, double the negative vibes from Gabby, most people would stop when they get to the hate stage, but he has to go just that little bit further.
