  1. It's just like the IRA in the past, the authorities knew the players, like they know who these crazy bastards are too, only as in the past we operate a reactive policy and will only touch them if they are in the process of terrorism, what we need to do is change our rules of engagement to be able to act first to save lives.

Yeah because internment was a great **** success wan't it?

I take you've never been on the receiving end of incoming rounds or roadside bombs knowing that the **** firing at you/ trying to blow you up are known to and could of been taken out by the authorities before they had the chance to endanger you or anyone else. It's not a nice feeling watching your mate die when it could and should of been avoided by not having a rule of engagement that only we adhere to.

  3. We've been looking at ourselves for the last 50 years though, and the same issues exist. I agree, the flags and statues are only symbolic, but I just don't know if there's a cure for what the real problem is.

Maybe not letting psyco's pack heat would be a good start. Until the Yankee gun laws are changed you are always going to get incidents like this.

  4. I drew a kit booklet onc.e and sent it in. Around the Little era, I think. They sent me a football and a signed letter.

A few years later this turned up.508b960298f14e642a9b09e116a126a8.jpg

I'm pretty sure I designed that kit...

You designed a copy of a 1970's Crystal Palace kit in the late 1990's. fair play

  5. I'm not arguing, just saying the picture would have made more sense if the price tag was on the actual coat-hanger.

what do you think the price tag is on if it isn't on the hanger?

Well, it's on a piece of string that's hanging from the belt loop of the 'shorts'. Good joke though.

    The "shorts" must be camouflaged.

  6. They didn't deserve promotion, the play off final was a joke.

I just can't understand this comment, and there have been a number the same. Did they not win? Is there clear evidence of bribery or foul play? Were they supposed to simply stand behind the goal so Derby could score after they went down to ten men?

I actually feel for QPR, largely because one of my best friends is a fan I suppose, but it seems to me that Fernandes' arguments relating to the fine have a lot of merit. These rules were supposed to help stop clubs from going under, instead a club that would otherwise be fine may be at risk of not existing in a few months time because of the fine

You reap what you sew, they knew the rules, they broke the rules, now they should get their punishment.

If you think it's not fair tell that to all the other clubs who played by the financial rules and didn't get promoted because QPR couldn't be bothered to work within their means.

  7. I think it's a national trait for political matters that if you vote Tory, you keep quiet about it or you're slightly embarrassed if you do

I guess I don't make up the demographic, but I'm certainly not in anyway embarrassed. It probably has more to do with Birmingham being labour, and this site being a villa site.

Besides we Tories are more dignified than to take to the streets fighting with police, and desecrating war memorials over who we vote for ;)

It's certainly true in London. I did vote Tory (that's not an invitation for a political debate with me, my reasons are my own. I'm not going to it, I'm just using that fact as an example) but the office was adamant that anyone that voted Tory are self serving, money obsessed baby killers. That maybe true of the actual members and cabinet, but not the voters.

If you think that the actual members and cabinet in the Tory party are self serving, money obsessed baby killers then why did you vote for them? Doesn't make sense to me.

  8. I damaged my shoulder a few months back and being a self employed sparky it was killing me, couldn't afford to take the time off the doctor advised to rest it and get it better, and working all the time meant it was getting worse. Anyway, long story short, I've changed my career direction, and am now the proud owner of a LGV category C licence as of 12 noon today.

Soon be trucking up n down this country and resting my shoulder at the same time, win win for me, earning and getting better :)

  9. Wow! Wow! Wow! There's a takeover happening!? I'm off to buy my season tickets based on a load of flimsy rumours.

After that I must send this Nigerian bloke £10K to release my lottery win, send money to this Eastern European supermodel I've been chatting to online who needs it for her sick grandmother, and then call this premium rate number to collect the mystery prize I won from a free scratch card in a magazine. Exciting :)

    You lucky git!!

  10. I must be a Dortmund hipster too, started following them in 1988 when I lived there, with their glow in the dark hi vis kits of the late 80's, early 90's, Dortmund felt like the west mids of Germany, with BVB as the Villa and Gelsenkirchen Blues as the knuckle dragging rivals down the road.

  11. Plaers don't give a shit, Villa go down on a Sunday, first thing Monday morning the players agents would be touting them out to premier league teams. Players come and go, to get some that care about the club they play for is almost impossible, ££££££'s is all they care about.

  12. Why, knowing that he is made of glass, and with the world cup performances and his increased value did we not cash in on Ron in the summer, all that has happened since then is another season of him in the sick bay picking up wages for jack shit, Could of got rid of him n bought someone who can actually stay fit for more than three weeks at a time and contribute to the team
