LOL
Norwich City FC @NorwichCityFC 2h
6 - Replays suggest Guzan was well off his line when he made that save but the referee saw nothing wrong and it's still 0-0. Lively start.
I've NEVER seen a penalty save where the keeper wasn't off his line, even if just slightly. By the letter of the law, the penalty should be retaken, but as they very, very rarely are, there's little room for complaint. I'd fully expect for the save to have stood had Ruddy done the same.

Vote cast, second page had to press next about 4 times to go through.
Good luck with it
Ditto the above.

Not sure it's worth £110 but it still looks pretty neat. Then again, I am a sucker for special sets.
Looks great but for £110 I'd want 7 barrels.

Neither Westwood or Lowton were mentioned in the football 365 england 50 player world cup watch, so people are still unaware of them.
Gooood...

Everyone seems great to begin with, then it all fades away. You've done well for 8 years but isn't there a bit inside of you that wishes you could still get upto all the things you want to?I think the idea is not to have a nagging partner. I managed that for 8 years. A relationship doesn't have to be a ballache.
It doesn't have to fade away. My wife is effectively my best mate with regular benefits. There has never been a week without great company, plenty of laughs, long chats about everything (including our joint passion for Villa) and a great session or five. After 21 years it's better than ever and whilst I take nothing in our relationship for granted (a good tip I think), it's far from fading away.
Nothing wrong having fun looking for the right one though!

Blimey, I'm glad I stayed with Alvechurch practice, even after moving to Lickey End! Pretty good at getting a same day appointment if needed, although I've yet to test them out with lung cancer.Or if it was in the UK
WW: 'I must make an appointment at the GP for this cough. I'll ring when the phone lines open at 08:30.'
GP Phone @08:30: 'Sorry the phone lines are closed. Please ring between 08:30 and 16:30'
GP Phone @08:31: 'You are number 17 in the queue. Please hold, your call is important to us.'
GP Phone @08:39: "Hello? Oh sorry, there are no appointments left today, you'll have to try tomorrow"
...
6 months later:
Specialist: "The cancer has spread around your whole body and you have 2 weeks to live. We may have been OK had we caught it early enough"

Best episode of the season so far.
Pretty much. Poor aiming aside it was very, very good.

Someone please gif me!Walt walking into the car wash holding Holly is probably my favourite moment in the entire show so far
Would be brilliant! A GIF of Walt and Holly could be used on some of the on-topic threads; similar to Grampa Simpson's turnaround from the strip-club entrance.

At which point does the OP consider his question answered?

Love.
Too broad!
Get her doing pelvic floor exercises.

I suspect the top sarcasm GIF needs sound; looks like a young Nicholas Cage but I don't know the scene. Second GIF does sarcasm well though.
Anyone got pure hatred?
-
So AVFCforever1991 has done smugness well. Anyone got GIFs for sarcasm?
-
-
What's happening now?
I'm in angst without a suitable GIF.
-
The recent on-topic thread 'Are we turning into the new Stoke' has impressed me for one thing - the number of different GIFs expressing a poster's emotion, thought or action toward the original question. It made me think - are there any emotions, thoughts or actions that aren't captured by a GIF? Hopefully VTers will post GIFs to prove others wrong but extra kudos should be given to those who can explain why their feeling is not truly GIF captured.
I'll start you off with - angst.

He needs to be on the end of long throws.

Dear supernova26, if you're being serious, I'll apologise for my second response and give you a totally honest answer - no, not even close.
If you're not being serious - stop wasting my time and get a life.

You read that Bannan has gone then?He should be starting for czech when we play Armenia so if any of you wanna see Kozak play, you can just stream the match. He will have Rosicky, Darida and Plasil creating him chances though so how he plays for Czech and Villa will likely be different. We don't have nearly the quality midfielders Czech has.

I remember the post believing there was a sell-on cause, although it wasn't officially confirmed.
Correct. Belgian guy posted an article from his home land that confirmed it existence using a funny looking word
No, do Genk have a sell on clause is what was asked, i.e. they get £3m if we sell for £30m if it's at 10%. It wouldn't be in Benteke's contract, it would've been part of the "fee" we paid to Genk.
Do you mean new contracts to Lowton, Westwood, Weimann etc? Wasn't it said that Benteke's contract doesn't have sell on clause.
they do supposedlyI wonder if they have a sell on clause.
Also the sell-on percentage or figure wasn't stated which is kind of important!
5% or a maximum of £2m? Pah, peanuts!
25% without a maximum? That's a lot to give up!
Even when CB is sold, there's a chance the exact figures won't be confirmed, so there's probably little point in guessing anyway.
I just hope a club doesn't meet his value to Villa next summer. I can't see it but it happened this summer and another season would be great for us.
-
Morpheus?
-
Any truth in that?Arsenal made an approach for him with hours left on the transfer window according to the mail
Highly unlikely, imo. I don't know how they would expect to begin and complete such a massive deal and contract negotiations within a few hours. For example, the Fellaini deal was completed last night but the bid and personal terms took days to agree.
I think it much more likely that the paper had a couple of centimetres to fill and chose a throw away line involving a favourite club of theirs and one of this season's hottest players; a line they knew neither club would bother to sue about.
I'd love the local press to write that we'd rejected a late £50m bid or that a £45m bid had been accepted but Benteke refused to leave our mighty club - I suspect there would be as much truth in it.
After he had signed a new contract, concern about Benteke leaving this summer was always going to be unnecessary. Like worrying about a car journey or perhaps taking a flight - the worst can happen but the chances are so low as to render concern pointless.

You might be right, but for PR it wasn't great for Birmingham was it? The greatest show on earth and we couldn't be arsed in playing a part? At least they have VP down for the Rugby World Cup, which is a much bigger event than Olympic footy I guess.Nobody said the Olympic football tournament was terrible, just that after reviewing the detailed figures available closer to the tournament, a decision was made that hosting wasn't worth it. Without access to the facts and precise figures, we can only guess at why other clubs/grounds were happier to host. Greater capacity allowing an element of profit for the larger grounds? Prestige outwaying the 'hassle factor' for chairmen/owners of the smaller grounds?
Please don't use 'the greatest show on earth' tag for Olympic football; it really isn't! Also, do you honestly believe there was PR damage for Villa/the city or any PR gain for the likes of Coventry?

I still think that once the deadwood has been fully cleared we might start spending a bit more. Don't forget, two of our highest paid players are also part of that deadwood.
You may be right but this sort of comment has been posted in every transfer window over the last few years.
Well the deadwood still hasn't been cleared.
It never will be - with a first team of 11 - and a squad of 25 - theres always going to be some players that will be referred to as deadwood - sure the names will change - but there will always be some excuse as to why the manager has limited funds
I think every club has its deadwood. I also think PL would have more funds available if Villa's deadwood were 4 or 5 players on £20k/week rather than 2 or 3 on £20k/week plus 2 or 3 on £50k+/week.

I'm really glad this thread contains so much discussion about the whether the manager is being backed or not, because there's no other threads on the board where that has already been done. At least the Luna pun thread was amusing (even if it made it hard to find anything out about the player).
So, this Libor fellow. Has he actually signed, or is this still speculation at this point? Is it meant to be a loan deal or did it turn out to be permanent? He's a big Benteke-style striker?
Firm speculation (if that's not a contradiction!), believed to be permanent and believed to be a pale imitation of Benteke.

Interesting; I really didn't know that. I assume 'one forward movement' effectively means one step forward of the line is permitted?
